| Wa Al-Layli 'Idhā Yaghshá | 092-001* By night as it broods, | وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَى |
| Wa An-Nahāri 'Idhā Tajallá | 092-002* and daylight when things seem radiant, | وَالنَّهَارِ إِذَا تَجَلَّى |
| Wa Mā Khalaqa Adh-Dhakara Wa Al-'Unthá | 092-003* and whatever has created the male and the female, | وَمَا خَلَقَ الذَّكَرَ وَالأُنْثَى |
| 'Inna Sa`yakum Lashattá | 092-004* your effort has been too diffuse. | إِنَّ سَعْيَكُمْ لَشَتَّى |
| Fa'ammā Man 'A`ţá Wa Attaqá | 092-005* For anyone who gives (generously], performs his duty | فَأَمَّا مَنْ أَعْطَى وَاتَّقَى |
| Wa Şaddaqa Bil-Ĥusná | 092-006* and acts charitably in the finest manner | وَصَدَّقَ بِالْحُسْنَى |
| Fasanuyassiruhu Lilyusrá | 092-007* We shall facilitate an easy way for him; | فَسَنُيَسِّرُه ُ لِلْيُسْرَى |
| Wa 'Ammā Man Bakhila Wa Astaghná | 092-008* while anyone who acts miserably, and feels he is self-sufficient | وَأَمَّا مَنْ بَخِلَ وَاسْتَغْنَى |
| Wa Kadhdhaba Bil-Ĥusná | 092-009* and rejects the finest [things in life] | وَكَذَّبَ بِالْحُسْنَى |
| Fasanuyassiruhu Lil`usrá | 092-010* We shall make it easy for him (to go] the hard way. | فَسَنُيَسِّرُه ُ لِلْعُسْرَى |
| Wa Mā Yughnī `Anhu Māluhu 'Idhā Taraddá | 092-011* His money will not help him out as he stumbles along. | وَمَا يُغْنِي عَنْهُ مَالُهُ~ُ إِذَا تَرَدَّى |
| 'Inna `Alaynā Lalhudá | 092-012* Guidance is Our concern: | إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا لَلْهُدَى |
| Wa 'Inna Lanā Lal'ākhirata Wa Al-'Ūlá | 092-013* to Us belongs the Hereafter and the very First [of life]; | وَإِنَّ لَنَا لَلآخِرَةَ وَالأُولَى |
| Fa'andhartukum Nārāan Talažžá | 092-014* so I have warned you (all) about a raging fire. | فَأَنْذَرْتُكُمْ نَارا ً تَلَظَّى |
| Lā Yaşlāhā 'Illā Al-'Ashqá | 092-015* Only the most wretched will roast in it, | لاَ يَصْلاَهَا إِلاَّ الأَشْقَى |
| Al-Ladhī Kadhdhaba Wa Tawallá | 092-016* the one who rejects [the Message] and turns away; | الَّذِي كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّى |
| Wa Sayujannabuhā Al-'Atqá | 092-017* while the most heedful will keep away from it, | وَسَيُجَنَّبُهَا الأَتْقَى |
| Al-Ladhī Yu'utī Mālahu Yatazakká | 092-018* the one who gives his money away and (thereby) purifies himself | الَّذِي يُؤْتِي مَالَه ُ يَتَزَكَّى |
| Wa Mā Li'ĥadin `Indahu Min Ni`matin Tujzá | 092-019* No one is awarded any favor by Him | وَمَا لِأحَدٍ عِنْدَه ُ مِنْ نِعْمَة ٍ تُجْزَى |
| 'Illā Abtighā'a Wajhi Rabbihi Al-'A`lá | 092-020* except through seeking the countenance of his Lord, the All-Highest. | إِلاَّ ابْتِغَاءَ وَجْهِ رَبِّهِ الأَعْلَى |
| Wa Lasawfa Yarđá | 092-021* [Such a man] shall meet approval. | وَلَسَوْفَ يَرْضَى |
