| Wa 'Adhinat Lirabbihā Wa Ĥuqqat | 084-002* and listen to its Lord as it ought to, | وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ |
| Wa 'Idhā Al-'Arđu Muddat | 084-003* suddenly the earth will flatten out, | وَإِذَا الأَرْضُ مُدَّتْ |

| Yā 'Ayyuhā Al-'Insānu 'Innaka Kādiĥun 'Ilá Rabbika Kadĥāan Famulāqīhi | 084-006* Everyman, you are toiling constantly for your Lord, and you will meet Him! | يَاأَيُّهَا الإِنسَانُ إِنَّكَ كَادِح ٌ إِلَى رَبِّكَ كَدْحا ً فَمُلاَقِيهِ |
| Fa'ammā Man 'Ūtiya Kitābahu Biyamīnihi | 084-007* Anyone who is given his book in his right hand | فَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِيَ كِتَابَه ُ بِيَمِينِهِ |
| Fasawfa Yuĥāsabu Ĥisābāan Yasīrāan | 084-008* will be called to account with an easy reckoning, | فَسَوْفَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَابا ً يَسِيرا ً |

| 'Innahu Kāna Fī 'Ahlihi Masrūrāan | 084-013* He used to be happy with his own people; | إِنَّه ُ كَانَ فِي أَهْلِه ِِ مَسْرُورا ً |
| 'Innahu Žanna 'An Lan Yaĥūra | 084-014* he supposed he would never revert [to God]. | إِنَّه ُ ظَنَّ أَنْ لَنْ يَحُورَ |
| Balá 'Inna Rabbahu Kāna Bihi Başīrāan | 084-015* Nevertheless his Lord had stiu been Observing him! | بَلَى إِنَّ رَبَّه ُ كَانَ بِه ِِ بَصِيرا ً |
| Falā 'Uqsimu Bish-Shafaqi | 084-016* So I swear by the gloaming, | فَلاَ أُقْسِمُ بِالشَّفَقِ |
| Wa Al-Layli Wa Mā Wasaqa | 084-017* and night and whatever it enshrouds, | وَاللَّيْلِ وَمَا وَسَقَ |
| Wa Al-Qamari 'Idhā Attasaqa | 084-018* and the moon when it blossoms full, | وَالْقَمَرِ إِذَا اتَّسَقَ |
| Latarkabunna Ţabaqāan `An Ţabaqin | 084-019* you shall ride along stage by stage. BOW DOWN HERE (Except in Authority) | لَتَرْكَبُنَّ طَبَقا ً عَنْ طَبَقٍ |
| Famā Lahum Lā Yu'uminūna | 084-020* What is wrong with them that they do not believe? | فَمَا لَهُمْ لاَ يُؤْمِنُونَ |
| Wa 'Idhā Quri'a `Alayhimu Al-Qur'ānu Lā Yasjudūna | 084-021* When the Quran is read to them, why do they not bow down on their knees? | وَإِذَا قُرِئَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْقُرْآنُ لاَ يَسْجُدُونَ |
| Bali Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Yukadhdhibūna | 084-022* Instead, those who disbelieve keep on rejecting | بَلِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا يُكَذِّبُونَ |
| Wa Allāhu 'A`lamu Bimā Yū`ūna | 084-023* while God is quite Aware of how they are holding back. | وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يُوعُونَ |
| Fabashshirhum Bi`adhābin 'Alīmin | 084-024* Give them news of painful torment, | فَبَشِّرْهُمْ بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيم ٍ |
| 'Illā Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Wa `Amilū Aş-Şāliĥāti Lahum 'Ajrun Ghayru Mamnūnin | 084-025* except for those who believe and perform honorable deeds; they will have payment which will never be withheld. | إِلاَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَهُمْ أَجْرٌ غَيْرُ مَمْنُون ٍ |
