| 'Innā 'Arsalnā Nūĥāan 'Ilá Qawmihi 'An 'Andhir Qawmaka Min Qabli 'An Ya'tiyahum `Adhābun 'Alīmun | 071-001* We sent Noah to his people: "Warn your people before some painful torment comes to them!" | إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحا ً إِلَى قَوْمِهِ أَنْ أَنذِرْ قَوْمَكَ مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ يَأْتِيَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيم ٌ |
| Qāla Yā Qawmi 'Innī Lakum Nadhīrun Mubīnun | 071-002* He said: "My folk, I am a plain warner for you: | قَالَ يَاقَوْمِ إِنِّي لَكُمْ نَذِيرٌ مُبِين ٌ |
| 'Ani A`budū Al-Laha Wa Attaqūhu Wa 'Aţī`ūni | 071-003* serve God and heed Him, and obey me! | أَنِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ وَاتَّقُوه ُ وَأَطِيعُونِ |
| Yaghfir Lakum Min Dhunūbikum Wa Yu'uakhkhirkum 'Ilá 'Ajalin Musammáan ۚ 'Inna 'Ajala Al-Lahi 'Idhā Jā'a Lā Yu'uakhkharu ۖ Law Kuntum Ta`lamūna | 071-004* He will forgive some of your offences for you and postpone things for you until a specific deadline. God's deadline will never be postponed once it comes, if you only realized it." | يَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ مِنْ ذُنُوبِكُمْ وَيُؤَخِّرْكُمْ إِلَى أَجَلٍ مُسَمّى ً ۚ إِنَّ أَجَلَ اللَّهِ إِذَا جَاءَ لاَ يُؤَخَّرُ ۖ لَوْ كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ |
| Qāla Rabbi 'Innī Da`awtu Qawmī Laylāan Wa Nahārāan | 071-005* He said: "My Lord, I have appealed to my people night and day | قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّي دَعَوْتُ قَوْمِي لَيْلا ً وَنَهَارا ً |
| Falam Yazid/hum Du`ā'ī 'Illā Firārāan | 071-006* and my appeal has only made them flee farther away from me. | فَلَمْ يَزِدْهُمْ دُعَائِي إِلاَّ فِرَارا ً |
| Wa 'Innī Kullamā Da`awtuhum Litaghfira Lahum Ja`alū 'Aşābi`ahum Fī 'Ādhānihim Wa Astaghshaw Thiyābahum Wa 'Aşarrū Wa Astakbarū Astikbārāan | 071-007* Each time I appeal to them to ask You to forgive them, they stick their fingers in their ears and try to wrap themselves up in their clothing. They persist in that and have become so overbearing! | وَإِنِّي كُلَّمَا دَعَوْتُهُمْ لِتَغْفِرَ لَهُمْ جَعَلُوا أَصَابِعَهُمْ فِي آذَانِهِمْ وَاسْتَغْشَوْا ثِيَابَهُمْ وَأَصَرُّوا وَاسْتَكْبَرُوا اسْتِكْبَارا ً |
| Thumma 'Innī Da`awtuhum Jihārāan | 071-008* "Next I appealed to them publicly; | ثُمَّ إِنِّي دَعَوْتُهُمْ جِهَارا ً |
| Thumma 'Innī 'A`lantu Lahum Wa 'Asrartu Lahum 'Isrārāan | 071-009* then I broadcast it to them and confided with them privately | ثُمَّ إِنِّي أَعْلَنتُ لَهُمْ وَأَسْرَرْتُ لَهُمْ إِسْرَارا ً |

| Wa Yumdidkum Bi'amwālin Wa Banīna Wa Yaj`al Lakum Jannātin Wa Yaj`al Lakum 'Anhārāan | 071-012* and He supplies you with wealth and children, and grants you gardens and even grants you rivers. Cosmogony | وَيُمْدِدْكُمْ بِأَمْوَالٍ وَبَنِينَ وَيَجْعَلْ لَكُمْ جَنَّاتٍ وَيَجْعَلْ لَكُمْ أَنْهَارا ً |
| Mā Lakum Lā Tarjūna Lillahi Waqārāan | 071-013* "'What is wrong that you do not expect God to have any dignity | مَا لَكُمْ لاَ تَرْجُونَ لِلَّهِ وَقَارا ً |
| Wa Qad Khalaqakum 'Aţwārāan | 071-014* while He has created you over and over again? | وَقَدْ خَلَقَكُمْ أَطْوَارا ً |
| 'Alam Taraw Kayfa Khalaqa Al-Lahu Sab`a Samāwātin Ţibāqāan | 071-015* Have you not (all) considered how God created seven matching Heavens? | أَلَمْ تَرَوْا كَيْفَ خَلَقَ اللَّهُ سَبْعَ سَمَاوَات ٍ طِبَاقا ً |
| Wa Ja`ala Al-Qamara Fīhinna Nūrāan Wa Ja`ala Ash-Shamsa Sirājāan | 071-016* He has set the moon as a light among them, and set the sun up as a source of light. | وَجَعَلَ الْقَمَرَ فِيهِنَّ نُورا ً وَجَعَلَ الشَّمْسَ سِرَاجا ً |
| Wa Allāhu 'Anbatakum Mina Al-'Arđi Nabātāan | 071-017* God makes you grow out of the earth like plants | وَاللَّهُ أَنْبَتَكُمْ مِنَ الأَرْضِ نَبَاتا ً |
| Thumma Yu`īdukum Fīhā Wa Yukhrijukum 'Ikhrājāan | 071-018* Later He will return you to it, and bring you forth once more. | ثُمَّ يُعِيدُكُمْ فِيهَا وَيُخْرِجُكُمْ إِخْرَاجا ً |
| Wa Allāhu Ja`ala Lakumu Al-'Arđa Bisāţāan | 071-019* "'God has laid the earth out as a carpet for you, | وَاللَّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُمُ الأَرْضَ بِسَاطا ً |
| Litaslukū Minhā Subulāan Fijājāan | 071-020* so you may travel around on highways which lead through mountain passes.'" (ii) | لِتَسْلُكُوا مِنْهَا سُبُلا ً فِجَاجا ً |
| Qāla Nūĥun Rabbi 'Innahum `Aşawnī Wa Attaba`ū Man Lam Yazid/hu Māluhu Wa Waladuhu 'Illā Khasārāan | 071-021* Noah said: "My Lord, they have defied me and followed after someone whose money and children will only increase [their chance of] losing. | قَالَ نُوح ٌ رَبِّ إِنَّهُمْ عَصَوْنِي وَاتَّبَعُوا مَنْ لَمْ يَزِدْهُ مَالُه ُ وَوَلَدُهُ~ُ إِلاَّ خَسَارا ً |
| Wa Makarū Makrāan Kubbārāan | 071-022* They have hatched a great plot | وَمَكَرُوا مَكْرا ً كُبَّارا ً |
| Wa Qālū Lā Tadharunna 'Ālihatakum Wa Lā Tadharunna Waddāan Wa Lā Suwā`āan Wa Lā Yaghūtha Wa Ya`ūqa Wa Nasrāan | 071-023* and said: 'Do not forsake your gods: do not leave Wadd, nor Suwa, nor Yaghuth, nor Yauq, nor Nasr!' | وَقَالُوا لاَ تَذَرُنَّ آلِهَتَكُمْ وَلاَ تَذَرُنَّ وَدّا ً وَلاَ سُوَاعا ً وَلاَ يَغُوثَ وَيَعُوقَ وَنَسْرا ً |
| Wa Qad 'Ađallū Kathīrāan ۖ Wa Lā Tazidi Až-Žālimīna 'Illā Đalālāan | 071-024* They have led so many astray; just let wrongdoers go even farther astray!' | وَقَدْ أَضَلُّوا كَثِيرا ً ۖ وَلاَ تَزِدِ الظَّالِمِينَ إِلاَّ ضَلاَلا ً |
| Mimmā Khaţī'ātihim 'Ughriqū Fa'udkhilū Nārāan Falam Yajidū Lahum Min Dūni Al-Lahi 'Anşārāan | 071-025* Because of their mistakes, they were drowned and despatched into the Fire. They did not find they had any supporters apart from God. | مِمَّا خَطِيئَاتِهِمْ أُغْرِقُوا فَأُدْخِلُوا نَارا ً فَلَمْ يَجِدُوا لَهُمْ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ أَنْصَارا ً |
| Wa Qāla Nūĥun Rabbi Lā Tadhar `Alá Al-'Arđi Mina Al-Kāfirīna Dayyārāan | 071-026* Noah said: "My Lord, do not leave any disbelievers with homes upon the earth. | وَقَالَ نُوح ٌ رَبِّ لاَ تَذَرْ عَلَى الأَرْضِ مِنَ الْكَافِرِينَ دَيَّارا ً |
| 'Innaka 'In Tadharhum Yuđillū `Ibādaka Wa Lā Yalidū 'Illā Fājirāan Kaffārāan | 071-027* If You should leave them any, they will lead Your servants astray and will only breed loose-living disbelievers. | إِنَّكَ إِنْ تَذَرْهُمْ يُضِلُّوا عِبَادَكَ وَلاَ يَلِدُوا إِلاَّ فَاجِرا ً كَفَّارا ً |
| Rabbi Aghfir Lī Wa Liwālidayya Wa Liman Dakhala Baytiya Mu'umināan Wa Lilmu'uminīna Wa Al-Mu'umināti Wa Lā Tazidi Až-Žālimīna 'Illā Tabārāan | 071-028* My Lord, forgive me and my parents, as well as anyone who enters my house as a believer, plus believing men and believing women! Do not increase wrongdoers in anything except destruction." | رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَلِوَالِدَيَّ وَلِمَنْ دَخَلَ بَيْتِيَ مُؤْمِنا ً وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ وَلاَ تَزِدِ الظَّالِمِينَ إِلاَّ تَبَارا ً |
