| Mā Al-Ĥāqqahu | 069-002* What is reality? | مَا الْحَاقَّةُ |
| Wa Mā 'Adrāka Mā Al-Ĥāqqahu | 069-003* What will make you recognize what reality is like? Thamud and Ad | وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الْحَاقَّةُ |
| Kadhdhabat Thamūdu Wa `Ādun Bil-Qāri`ahi | 069-004* Thamud and Ad denied [they would face] disaster. | كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ وَعَادٌ بِالْقَارِعَةِ |
| Fa'ammā Thamūdu Fa'uhlikū Biţ-Ţāghiyahi | 069-005* As for Thamud, they were wiped out by the Thunderbolt. | فَأَمَّا ثَمُودُ فَأُهْلِكُوا بِالطَّاغِيَةِ |
| Wa 'Ammā `Ādun Fa'uhlikū Birīĥin Şarşarin `Ātiyahin | 069-006* As for Ad, they were wiped out by a furiously howling gale. | وَأَمَّا عَاد ٌ فَأُهْلِكُوا بِرِيح ٍ صَرْصَرٍ عَاتِيَة ٍ |
| Sakhkharahā `Alayhim Sab`a Layālin Wa Thamāniyata 'Ayyāmin Ĥusūmāan Fatará Al-Qawma Fīhā Şar`á Ka'annahum 'A`jāzu Nakhlin Khāwiyahin | 069-007* He loosed it on them for seven grueling nights and eight days. You would see folk collapsing in it as if they were hollow palm trunks. | سَخَّرَهَا عَلَيْهِمْ سَبْعَ لَيَالٍ وَثَمَانِيَةَ أَيَّامٍ حُسُوما ً فَتَرَى الْقَوْمَ فِيهَا صَرْعَى كَأَنَّهُمْ أَعْجَازُ نَخْلٍ خَاوِيَة ٍ |
| Fahal Tará Lahum Min Bāqiyahin | 069-008* Do you see any survivors from them? Pharaoh | فَهَلْ تَرَى لَهُمْ مِنْ بَاقِيَة ٍ |
| Wa Jā'a Fir`awnu Wa Man Qablahu Wa Al-Mu'utafikātu Bil-Khāţi'ahi | 069-009* Pharaoh came, as well as those before him, and the places Overthrown through [their own] misdeeds; | وَجَاءَ فِرْعَوْنُ وَمَنْ قَبْلَه ُ وَالْمُؤْتَفِكَاتُ بِالْخَاطِئَةِ |
| Fa`aşaw Rasūla Rabbihim Fa'akhadhahum 'Akhdhatan Rābiyahan | 069-010* they defied their Lord's messenger, so He seized them with a tightening grip. | فَعَصَوْا رَسُولَ رَبِّهِمْ فَأَخَذَهُمْ أَخْذَة ً رَابِيَة ً |
| 'Innā Lammā Ţaghá Al-Mā'u Ĥamalnākum Fī Al-Jāriyahi | 069-011* When the water overflowed, We loaded you on the vessel, Noah | إِنَّا لَمَّا طَغَى الْمَاءُ حَمَلْنَاكُمْ فِي الْجَارِيَةِ |
| Linaj`alahā Lakum Tadhkiratan Wa Ta`iyahā 'Udhunun Wā`iyahun | 069-012* so We might set it up as a Reminder for you and so (your) attentive ears might retain it. The Last Trumpet | لِنَجْعَلَهَا لَكُمْ تَذْكِرَة ً وَتَعِيَهَا أُذُنٌ وَاعِيَة ٌ |
| Fa'idhā Nufikha Fī Aş-Şūri Nafkhatun Wāĥidahun | 069-013* When a single blast is blown on the Trumpet | فَإِذَا نُفِخَ فِي الصُّورِ نَفْخَةٌ وَاحِدَة ٌ |
| Wa Ĥumilati Al-'Arđu Wa Al-Jibālu Fadukkatā Dakkatan Wāĥidahan | 069-014* and the earth is lifted up along with the mountains and they are both flattened by a single blow, | وَحُمِلَتِ الأَرْضُ وَالْجِبَالُ فَدُكَّتَا دَكَّة ً وَاحِدَة ً |
| Fayawma'idhin Waqa`ati Al-Wāqi`ahu | 069-015* the Event will take place on that day! | فَيَوْمَئِذٍ وَقَعَتِ الْوَاقِعَةُ |
| Wa Anshaqqati As-Samā'u Fahiya Yawma'idhin Wa Ahiyahun | 069-016* The sky will split open and seem flimsy that day; | وَانشَقَّتِ السَّمَاءُ فَهِيَ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَاهِيَة ٌ |
| Wa Al-Malaku `Alá 'Arjā'ihā ۚ Wa Yaĥmilu `Arsha Rabbika Fawqahum Yawma'idhin Thamāniyahun | 069-017* while angels [will stand] along its edges. Eight [in all] will bear your Lord's throne above them on that day. The Final Judgement | وَالْمَلَكُ عَلَى أَرْجَائِهَا ۚ وَيَحْمِلُ عَرْشَ رَبِّكَ فَوْقَهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ ثَمَانِيَةٌ |
| Yawma'idhin Tu`rađūna Lā Takhfá Minkum Khāfiyahun | 069-018* On that day you will (all) be arraigned; no secret of yours will remain hidden. | يَوْمَئِذ ٍ تُعْرَضُونَ لاَ تَخْفَى مِنْكُمْ خَافِيَة ٌ |
| Fa'ammā Man 'Ūtiya Kitābahu Biyamīnihi Fayaqūlu Hā'uum Aqra'ū Kitābī | 069-019* Anyone who is given his book in his right hand will say:"Here, read my book! | فَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِيَ كِتَابَه ُ بِيَمِينِه ِِ فَيَقُولُ هَاؤُمْ اقْرَءُوا كِتَابِي |
| 'Innī Žanantu 'Annī Mulāqin Ĥisābiyah | 069-020* I always thought I would face my reckoning!" | إِنِّي ظَنَنتُ أَنِّي مُلاَقٍ حِسَابِيَه |
| Fahuwa Fī `Īshatin Rāđiyahin | 069-021* He will be in pleasant living | فَهُوَ فِي عِيشَة ٍ رَاضِيَة ٍ |
| Fī Jannatin `Āliyahin | 069-022* in a lofty garden | فِي جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَة ٍ |
| Quţūfuhā Dāniyahun | 069-023* whose clusters [of fruit] will hang within easy reach. | قُطُوفُهَا دَانِيَة ٌ |
| Kulū Wa Ashrabū Hanī'āan Bimā 'Aslaftum Fī Al-'Ayyāmi Al-Khāliyahi | 069-024* "Eat and drink to your heart's content because of what you sent on ahead in bygone days." | كُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا هَنِيئا ً بِمَا أَسْلَفْتُمْ فِي الأَيَّامِ الْخَالِيَةِ |
| Wa 'Ammā Man 'Ūtiya Kitābahu Bishimālihi Fayaqūlu Yā Laytanī Lam 'Ūta Kitābīh | 069-025* However anyone who is given his book in his left hand will say: "It's too bad for me; if only my book had not been given me, | وَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِيَ كِتَابَه ُ بِشِمَالِه ِِ فَيَقُولُ يَا لَيْتَنِي لَمْ أُوتَ كِتَابِيهْ |
| Wa Lam 'Adri Mā Ĥisābīh | 069-026* I would not have known my reckoning! | وَلَمْ أَدْرِ مَا حِسَابِيهْ |
| Yā Laytahā Kānati Al-Qāđiyaha | 069-027* If it had only been the Sentence [once and for all]! | يَا لَيْتَهَا كَانَتِ الْقَاضِيَةَ |
| Mā 'Aghná `Annī Mālīh ۜ | 069-028* My money has not helped me out; | مَا أَغْنَى عَنِّي مَالِيهْ |
| Halaka `Annī Sulţānīh | 069-029* my authority has been wiped out on me." | هَلَكَ عَنِّي سُلْطَانِيهْ |
| Khudhūhu Faghullūhu | 069-030* "Take him off and handcuff him! | خُذُوه ُ فَغُلُّوهُ |
| Thumma Al-Jaĥīma Şallūhu | 069-031* Then let Hades roast him! | ثُمَّ الْجَحِيمَ صَلُّوهُ |
| Thumma Fī Silsilatin Dhar`uhā Sab`ūna Dhirā`āan Fāslukūhu | 069-032* Then padlock him to a chain gang seventy yards long. | ثُمَّ فِي سِلْسِلَة ٍ ذَرْعُهَا سَبْعُونَ ذِرَاعا ً فَاسْلُكُوهُ |
| 'Innahu Kāna Lā Yu'uminu Bil-Lahi Al-`Ažīmi | 069-033* He did not believe in God Almighty | إِنَّه ُ كَانَ لاَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ الْعَظِيمِ |
| Wa Lā Yaĥuđđu `Alá Ţa`āmi Al-Miskīni | 069-034* nor ever urge [others) to feed the needy. | وَلاَ يَحُضُّ عَلَى طَعَامِ الْمِسْكِينِ |
| Falaysa Lahu Al-Yawma Hāhunā Ĥamīmun | 069-035* He has no close friend here today, | فَلَيْسَ لَهُ الْيَوْمَ هَاهُنَا حَمِيم ٌ |
| Wa Lā Ţa`āmun 'Illā Min Ghislīnin | 069-036* nor any food except for some garbage | وَلاَ طَعَام ٌ إِلاَّ مِنْ غِسْلِين ٍ |
| Lā Ya'kuluhu 'Illā Al-Khāţi'ūna | 069-037* which only sinners eat." (ii) | لاَ يَأْكُلُهُ~ُ إِلاَّ الْخَاطِئُونَ |
| Falā 'Uqsimu Bimā Tubşirūna | 069-038* Yet I swear by whatever you observe | فَلاَ أُقْسِمُ بِمَا تُبْصِرُونَ |
| Wa Mā Lā Tubşirūna | 069-039* and what you do not observe, | وَمَا لاَ تُبْصِرُونَ |
| 'Innahu Laqawlu Rasūlin Karīmin | 069-040* that it is a statement [made] by a noble messenger. | إِنَّه ُ لَقَوْلُ رَسُول ٍ كَرِيم ٍ |
| Wa Mā Huwa Biqawli Shā`irin ۚ Qalīlāan Mā Tu'uminūna | 069-041* It is no poet's statement; how little do you believe! | وَمَا هُوَ بِقَوْلِ شَاعِرٍ ۚ قَلِيلا ً مَا تُؤْمِنُونَ |
| Wa Lā Biqawli Kāhinin ۚ Qalīlāan Mā Tadhakkarūna | 069-042* Nor is it some fortune teller's statement; how little do you think things over! | وَلاَ بِقَوْلِ كَاهِنٍ ۚ قَلِيلا ً مَا تَذَكَّرُونَ |
| Tanzīlun Min Rabbi Al-`Ālamīna | 069-043* [It is] something sent down by the Lord of the Universe. | تَنزِيلٌ مِنْ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ |
| Wa Law Taqawwala `Alaynā Ba`đa Al-'Aqāwīli | 069-044* If he had mouthed some [false] statements about Us, | وَلَوْ تَقَوَّلَ عَلَيْنَا بَعْضَ الأَقَاوِيلِ |
| La'akhadhnā Minhu Bil-Yamīni | 069-045* We would have seized him by the right hand; | لَأَخَذْنَا مِنْهُ بِالْيَمِينِ |
| Thumma Laqaţa`nā Minhu Al-Watīna | 069-046* then cut off his main artery. | ثُمَّ لَقَطَعْنَا مِنْهُ الْوَتِينَ |
| Famā Minkum Min 'Aĥadin `Anhu Ĥājizīna | 069-047* Not one of you would have prevented it! | فَمَا مِنْكُمْ مِنْ أَحَدٍ عَنْهُ حَاجِزِينَ |
| Wa 'Innahu Latadhkiratun Lilmuttaqīna | 069-048* And verily, this Qur'ؤپn is a Reminder for the pious | وَإِنَّه ُ لَتَذْكِرَة ٌ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ |
| Wa 'Innā Lana`lamu 'Anna Minkum Mukadhdhibīna | 069-049* We know too that some of you will reject it. | وَإِنَّا لَنَعْلَمُ أَنَّ مِنْكُمْ مُكَذِّبِينَ |
| Wa 'Innahu Laĥasratun `Alá Al-Kāfirīna | 069-050* It means despair for disbelievers; | وَإِنَّه ُ لَحَسْرَةٌ عَلَى الْكَافِرِينَ |
| Wa 'Innahu Laĥaqqu Al-Yaqīni | 069-051* yet it is the absolute Truth! | وَإِنَّه ُ لَحَقُّ الْيَقِينِ |
| Fasabbiĥ Biāsmi Rabbika Al-`Ažīmi | 069-052* So hymn your Lord's almighty name! | فَسَبِّحْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الْعَظِيمِ |
