| HERE WE have 99 quite early Meccan verses arranged in six sections (except for v. 87 which dates from Madina). The title refers to a community north of Madina to whom Thumad came, which lived in a stone or rock city like that at Petra. It lay on the route from Madina to Syria, as we see in the last section of the chapter, and may have been near Tayma, in Midian. This reference is preceded by mention of the early prophets, Abraham (IV) who gave his name to the previous chapter, and Lot (V). This chapter is important for its cosmogony or the description of how the world was formed. Diabolis is present at man's creation too (III). This chapter was revealed after Joseph 12 and before Livestock 6, and is the last of the older group from Mecca, as can be seen by the initials at the beginning of the first verse. This mood can be sensed in the style and differing rhythm of the first verses. The chapter becomes quite personal towards the end, and sounds almost like a cry of distress uttered by someone seeking solace; it ends with a short hymn in this vein. | Wa Ĥafižnāhā Min Kulli Shayţānin Rajīmin | 015-017* We have safeguarded them against every outcast Satan | وَحَفِظْنَاهَا مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْطَان ٍ رَجِيم ٍ |
| 'Illā Mani Astaraqa As-Sam`a Fa'atba`ahu Shihābun Mubīnun | 015-018* except for such as may try to eavesdrop, so a blazing meteor follows him. | إِلاَّ مَنِ اسْتَرَقَ السَّمْعَ فَأَتْبَعَه ُ شِهَابٌ مُبِين ٌ |
| Wa Al-'Arđa Madadnāhā Wa 'Alqaynā Fīhā Rawāsiya Wa 'Anbatnā Fīhā Min Kulli Shay'in Mawzūnin | 015-019* Earth have We spread out and cast headlands upon it, and planted a bit of everything to grow there (so it is) well balanced. | وَالأَرْضَ مَدَدْنَاهَا وَأَلْقَيْنَا فِيهَا رَوَاسِيَ وَأَنْبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ مَوْزُون ٍ |
| Wa Ja`alnā Lakum Fīhā Ma`āyisha Wa Man Lastum Lahu Birāziqīna | 015-020* We have placed various means of livelihood on it for (all of) you as well as anyone you do not have to provide for. | وَجَعَلْنَا لَكُمْ فِيهَا مَعَايِشَ وَمَنْ لَسْتُمْ لَه ُ بِرَازِقِينَ |
| Wa 'In Min Shay'in 'Illā `Indanā Khazā'inuhu Wa Mā Nunazziluhu 'Illā Biqadarin Ma`lūmin | 015-021* There is nothing whose stores are not [controlled] by Us, and We send it down only according to a fixed quantity. | وَإِنْ مِنْ شَيْء ٍ إِلاَّ عِنْدَنَا خَزَائِنُه ُ وَمَا نُنَزِّلُهُ~ُ إِلاَّ بِقَدَرٍ مَعْلُوم ٍ |
| Wa 'Arsalnā Ar-Riyāĥa Lawāqiĥa Fa'anzalnā Mina As-Samā'i Mā'an Fa'asqaynākumūhu Wa Mā 'Antum Lahu Bikhāzinīna | 015-022* We send forth fertilizing winds and send down water from the sky and offer you something to drink from it. You are not the ones who store it up. | وَأَرْسَلْنَا الرِّيَاحَ لَوَاقِحَ فَأَنْزَلْنَا مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَاء ً فَأَسْقَيْنَاكُمُوه ُ وَمَا أَنْتُمْ لَه ُ بِخَازِنِينَ |
| Wa 'Innā Lanaĥnu Nuĥyī Wa Numītu Wa Naĥnu Al-Wārithūna | 015-023* We give life and bring death, and We are the Heirs [to every- thing]! | وَإِنَّا لَنَحْنُ نُحْيِي وَنُمِيتُ وَنَحْنُ الْوَارِثُونَ |
| Wa Laqad `Alimnā Al-Mustaqdimīna Minkum Wa Laqad `Alimnā Al-Musta'khirīna | 015-024* We know which of you try to get ahead and We know those who hold back. | وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا الْمُسْتَقْدِمِينَ مِنْكُمْ وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا الْمُسْتَأْخِرِينَ |
| Wa 'Inna Rabbaka Huwa Yaĥshuruhum ۚ 'Innahu Ĥakīmun `Alīmun | 015-025* Your Lord will summon them; He is Wise, Aware. (III) | وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ يَحْشُرُهُمْ ۚ إِنَّه ُ حَكِيمٌ عَلِيمٌ |
| Wa Laqad Khalaqnā Al-'Insāna Min Şalşālin Min Ĥama'iin Masnūnin | 015-026* We created man from ringing clay, from moulded slime; | وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الإِنسَانَ مِنْ صَلْصَالٍ مِنْ حَمَإٍ مَسْنُون ٍ |
| Wa Al-Jānna Khalaqnāhu Min Qablu Min Nāri As-Samūmi | 015-027* while the sprites We had created earlier from smokeless fire. Diabolis at Man's Creation | وَالْجَانَّ خَلَقْنَاه ُ مِنْ قَبْلُ مِنْ نَارِ السَّمُومِ |
| Wa 'Idh Qāla Rabbuka Lilmalā'ikati 'Innī Khāliqun Basharāan Min Şalşālin Min Ĥama'iin Masnūnin | 015-028* So your Lord told the angels: "I am about to create a human being from ringing clay, from moulded slime. | وَإِذْ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلْمَلاَئِكَةِ إِنِّي خَالِق ٌ بَشَرا ً مِنْ صَلْصَالٍ مِنْ حَمَإٍ مَسْنُون ٍ |
| Fa'idhā Sawwaytuhu Wa Nafakhtu Fīhi Min Rūĥī Faqa`ū Lahu Sājidīna | 015-029* When I have finished with him and breathed some of My spirit into him, then drop down on your knees before him." | فَإِذَا سَوَّيْتُه ُ وَنَفَخْتُ فِيه ِِ مِنْ رُوحِي فَقَعُوا لَه ُ سَاجِدِينَ |
| Fasajada Al-Malā'ikatu Kulluhum 'Ajma`ūna | 015-030* The angels all bowed down together | فَسَجَدَ الْمَلاَئِكَةُ كُلُّهُمْ أَجْمَعُونَ |

| Qāla Lam 'Akun Li'sjuda Libasharin Khalaqtahu Min Şalşālin Min Ĥama'iin Masnūnin | 015-033* He said: "I am no one to kneel before a human being You have created from ringing clay, from moulded slime." | قَالَ لَمْ أَكُنْ لِأسْجُدَ لِبَشَرٍ خَلَقْتَه ُ مِنْ صَلْصَالٍ مِنْ حَمَإٍ مَسْنُون ٍ |
| Qāla Fākhruj Minhā Fa'innaka Rajīmun | 015-034* He said: "Then get out of here, for you are an outcast! | قَالَ فَاخْرُجْ مِنْهَا فَإِنَّكَ رَجِيم ٌ |
| Wa 'Inna `Alayka Al-La`nata 'Ilá Yawmi Ad-Dīni | 015-035* On you lies the Curse until the Day for Repayment!" | وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكَ اللَّعْنَةَ إِلَى يَوْمِ الدِّينِ |
| Qāla Rabbi Fa'anžirnī 'Ilá Yawmi Yub`athūna | 015-036* He said: 'My Lord, let me wait till the day when they are raised up again." | قَالَ رَبِّ فَأَنْظِرْنِي إِلَى يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ |
| Qāla Fa'innaka Mina Al-Munžarīna | 015-037* He said: "You will be allowed to wait | قَالَ فَإِنَّكَ مِنَ الْمُنْظَرِينَ |
| 'Ilá Yawmi Al-Waqti Al-Ma`lūmi | 015-038* until a day in known time." | إِلَى يَوْمِ الْوَقْتِ الْمَعْلُومِ |
| Qāla Rabbi Bimā 'Aghwaytanī La'uzayyinanna Lahum Fī Al-'Arđi Wa La'ughwiyannahum 'Ajma`īna | 015-039* He said: "My Lord, since You have let me go astray, I shall make things on earth seem attractive to them; I'll mislead them all | قَالَ رَبِّ بِمَا أَغْوَيْتَنِي لَأُزَيِّنَنَّ لَهُمْ فِي الأَرْضِ وَلَأُغْوِيَنَّهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ |
| 'Illā `Ibādaka Minhumu Al-Mukhlaşīna | 015-040* except for any of Your sincere servants who may be among them." | إِلاَّ عِبَادَكَ مِنْهُمُ الْمُخْلَصِينَ |
| Qāla Hādhā Şirāţun `Alayya Mustaqīmun | 015-041* He said: "Here will be a Straight Road [leading] up to Me! | قَالَ هَذَا صِرَاطٌ عَلَيَّ مُسْتَقِيم ٌ |
| 'Inna `Ibādī Laysa Laka `Alayhim Sulţānun 'Illā Mani Attaba`aka Mina Al-Ghāwīna | 015-042* You will not hold any authority over My servants except for someone who may follow you from among those who are misguided. | إِنَّ عِبَادِي لَيْسَ لَكَ عَلَيْهِمْ سُلْطَان ٌ إِلاَّ مَنِ اتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ الْغَاوِينَ |
| Wa 'Inna Jahannama Lamaw`iduhum 'Ajma`īna | 015-043* Hell will [serve as] an appointment for all of them together. | وَإِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ لَمَوْعِدُهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ |
| Lahā Sab`atu 'Abwābin Likulli Bābin Minhum Juz'un Maqsūmun | 015-044* It has seven gates; each gate will have a portion assigned from them." Paradise (IV) | لَهَا سَبْعَةُ أَبْوَاب ٍ لِكُلِّ بَابٍ مِنْهُمْ جُزْءٌ مَقْسُوم ٌ |
| 'Inna Al-Muttaqīna Fī Jannātin Wa `Uyūnin | 015-045* The heedful will be in gardens and by springs: | إِنَّ الْمُتَّقِينَ فِي جَنَّاتٍ وَعُيُون ٍ |
| Adkhulūhā Bisalāmin 'Āminīna | 015-046* "Enter them safely, at peace!" | ادْخُلُوهَا بِسَلاَم ٍ آمِنِينَ |
| Wa Naza`nā Mā Fī Şudūrihim Min Ghillin 'Ikhwānāan `Alá Sururin Mutaqābilīna | 015-047* We will strip away any rancor that [lingers] in their breasts; like brethren they will face one another on couches. | وَنَزَعْنَا مَا فِي صُدُورِهِمْ مِنْ غِلّ ٍ إِخْوَانا ً عَلَى سُرُرٍ مُتَقَابِلِينَ |
| Lā Yamassuhum Fīhā Naşabun Wa Mā Hum Minhā Bimukhrajīna | 015-048* Toil will not touch them there, nor will they ever be expelled from it. | لاَ يَمَسُّهُمْ فِيهَا نَصَبٌ وَمَا هُمْ مِنْهَا بِمُخْرَجِينَ |
| Nabbi' `Ibādī 'Annī 'Anā Al-Ghafūru Ar-Raĥīmu | 015-049* Advise My servants that I am the Forgiving, Merciful One, | نَبِّئْ عِبَادِي أَنِّي أَنَا الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ |
| Wa 'Anna `Adhābī Huwa Al-`Adhābu Al-'Alīmu | 015-050* although My torment will be painful torment. Abraham | وَأَنَّ عَذَابِي هُوَ الْعَذَابُ الأَلِيمُ |
| Wa Nabbi'hum `An Đayfi 'Ibrāhīma | 015-051* Advise them about Abraham's guests | وَنَبِّئْهُمْ عَنْ ضَيْفِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ |
| 'Idh Dakhalū `Alayhi Faqālū Salāmāan Qāla 'Innā Minkum Wajilūna | 015-052* how, when they entered his presence and said: "Peace!", he said: "We feel wary of you." | إِذْ دَخَلُوا عَلَيْهِ فَقَالُوا سَلاَما ً قَالَ إِنَّا مِنْكُمْ وَجِلُونَ |
| Qālū Lā Tawjal 'Innā Nubashshiruka Bighulāmin `Alīmin | 015-053* They said: 'Don't feel so wary; We bring you word about a clever boy." | قَالُوا لاَ تَوْجَلْ إِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلاَمٍ عَلِيم ٍ |
| Qāla 'Abashshartumūnī `Alá 'An Massaniya Al-Kibaru Fabima Tubashshirūna | 015-054* He said: "Have you brought me word like this once old age has set in on me? What sort of word do you want to spread?" | قَالَ أَبَشَّرْتُمُونِي عَلَى أَنْ مَسَّنِيَ الْكِبَرُ فَبِمَ تُبَشِّرُونَ |
| Qālū Bashsharnāka Bil-Ĥaqqi Falā Takun Mina Al-Qāniţīna | 015-055* They said: "We have brought you word of the Truth, so do not act so discouraged." | قَالُوا بَشَّرْنَاكَ بِالْحَقِّ فَلاَ تَكُنْ مِنَ الْقَانِطِينَ |
| Qāla Wa Man Yaqnaţu Min Raĥmati Rabbihi 'Illā Ađ-Đāllūna | 015-056* He said: "Who despairs of his Lord's mercy except those who are lost?" Lot | قَالَ وَمَنْ يَقْنَطُ مِنْ رَحْمَةِ رَبِّهِ إِلاَّ الضَّالُّونَ |
| Qāla Famā Khaţbukum 'Ayyuhā Al-Mursalūna | 015-057* He said: "Yet what is your errand, you emissaries?" | قَالَ فَمَا خَطْبُكُمْ أَيُّهَا الْمُرْسَلُونَ |
| Qālū 'Innā 'Ursilnā 'Ilá Qawmin Mujrimīna | 015-058* They said: "We have been sent for some criminal folk, | قَالُوا إِنَّا أُرْسِلْنَا إِلَى قَوْمٍ مُجْرِمِينَ |
| 'Illā 'Āla Lūţin 'Innā Lamunajjūhum 'Ajma`īna | 015-059* except for Lot's house; we will rescue them all | إِلاَّ آلَ لُوط ٍ إِنَّا لَمُنَجُّوهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ |
| 'Illā Amra'atahu Qaddarnā ۙ 'Innahā Lamina Al-Ghābirīna | 015-060* except his wife. We have decreed that she will be one of those who will be left behind." Lot (cont'd) (V) | إِلاَّ امْرَأَتَه ُ قَدَّرْنَا ۙ إِنَّهَا لَمِنَ الْغَابِرِينَ |
| Falammā Jā'a 'Āla Lūţin Al-Mursalūna | 015-061* When the emissaries came to Lot's household, | فَلَمَّا جَاءَ آلَ لُوط ٍ الْمُرْسَلُونَ |
| Qāla 'Innakum Qawmun Munkarūna | 015-062* he said: "You are folk who should be ignored." | قَالَ إِنَّكُمْ قَوْمٌ مُنْكَرُونَ |
| Qālū Bal Ji'nāka Bimā Kānū Fīhi Yamtarūna | 015-063* They said: Rather we have come to you about something they have been puzzling over. | قَالُوا بَلْ جِئْنَاكَ بِمَا كَانُوا فِيه ِِ يَمْتَرُونَ |
| Wa 'Ataynāka Bil-Ĥaqqi Wa 'Innā Laşādiqūna | 015-064* We have brought you the Truth, for we are reliable. | وَأَتَيْنَاكَ بِالْحَقِّ وَإِنَّا لَصَادِقُونَ |
| Fa'asri Bi'ahlika Biqiţ`in Mina Al-Layli Wa Attabi` 'Adbārahum Wa Lā Yaltafit Minkum 'Aĥadun Wa Amđū Ĥaythu Tu'umarūna | 015-065* Travel with your family at dead of night; you should follow in their rear, and let none of you glance around! Keep on going wherever you are ordered to. | فَأَسْرِ بِأَهْلِكَ بِقِطْعٍ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ وَاتَّبِعْ أَدْبَارَهُمْ وَلاَ يَلْتَفِتْ مِنْكُمْ أَحَدٌ وَامْضُوا حَيْثُ تُؤْمَرُونَ |
| Wa Qađaynā 'Ilayhi Dhālika Al-'Amra 'Anna Dābira Hā'uulā' Maqţū`un Muşbiĥīna | 015-066* We have passed judgment on that case for him so that those people's last remnant shall be cut off once morning dawns for them." Sodom | وَقَضَيْنَا إِلَيْهِ ذَلِكَ الأَمْرَ أَنَّ دَابِرَ هَاؤُلاَء مَقْطُوعٌ مُصْبِحِينَ |
| Wa Jā'a 'Ahlu Al-Madīnati Yastabshirūna | 015-067* The people of the city came up gay with the news. | وَجَاءَ أَهْلُ الْمَدِينَةِ يَسْتَبْشِرُونَ |
| Qāla 'Inna Hā'uulā' Đayfī Falā Tafđaĥūni | 015-068* He said: "These are my guests so do not disgrace me. | قَالَ إِنَّ هَاؤُلاَء ضَيْفِي فَلاَ تَفْضَحُونِ |
| Wa Attaqū Al-Laha Wa Lā Tukhzūni | 015-069* Heed God, and do not shame me." | وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَلاَ تُخْزُونِ |
| Qālū 'Awalam Nanhaka `Ani Al-`Ālamīna | 015-070* They said: "Didnt we forbid you to have contact with [anyone in] the Universe [outside]?"' | قَالُوا أَوَلَمْ نَنْهَكَ عَنِ الْعَالَمِينَ |
| Qāla Hā'uulā' Banātī 'In Kuntum Fā`ilīna | 015-071* He said: "These are my daughters if you are going to do (something)." | قَالَ هَاؤُلاَء بَنَاتِي إِنْ كُنْتُمْ فَاعِلِينَ |
| La`amruka 'Innahum Lafī Sakratihim Ya`mahūna | 015-072* Upon your life, they were groping along in their drunkenness | لَعَمْرُكَ إِنَّهُمْ لَفِي سَكْرَتِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ |
| Fa'akhadhat/humu Aş-Şayĥatu Mushriqīna | 015-073* so the Blast caught them at sunrise: | فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الصَّيْحَةُ مُشْرِقِينَ |
| Faja`alnā `Āliyahā Sāfilahā Wa 'Amţarnā `Alayhim Ĥijāratan Min Sijjīlin | 015-074* We turned things upside down and rained down stones which had been stamped with their names on them. | فَجَعَلْنَا عَالِيَهَا سَافِلَهَا وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ حِجَارَة ً مِنْ سِجِّيل ٍ |
| 'Inna Fī Dhālika La'āyātin Lilmutawassimīna | 015-075* In that are signs for investigators; | إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَات ٍ لِلْمُتَوَسِّمِينَ |
| Wa 'Innahā Labisabīlin Muqīmin | 015-076* and it lies along a permanent highway. Midian | وَإِنَّهَا لَبِسَبِيلٍ مُقِيم ٍ |
| 'Inna Fī Dhālika La'āyatan Lilmu'uminīna | 015-077* In that is a sign for believers. | إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَة ً لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ |
| Wa 'In Kāna 'Aşĥābu Al-'Aykati Lažālimīna | 015-078* The Companions in the Forest had been wrongdoers, | وَإِنْ كَانَ أَصْحَابُ الأَيْكَةِ لَظَالِمِينَ |
| Fāntaqamnā Minhum Wa 'Innahumā Labi'imāmin Mubīnin | 015-079* so We avenged Ourself on them. Both are a clear indication. (VI) | فَا نْتَقَمْنَا مِنْهُمْ وَإِنَّهُمَا لَبِإِمَامٍ مُبِين ٍ |
| Wa Laqad Kadhdhaba 'Aşĥābu Al-Ĥijri Al-Mursalīna | 015-080* The inhabitants of Stoneland rejected the emissaries. | وَلَقَدْ كَذَّبَ أَصْحَابُ الْحِجْرِ الْمُرْسَلِينَ |
| Wa 'Ātaynāhum 'Āyātinā Fakānū `Anhā Mu`riđīna | 015-081* We gave them Our signs even though they had shunned them. | وَآتَيْنَاهُمْ آيَاتِنَا فَكَانُوا عَنْهَا مُعْرِضِينَ |
| Wa Kānū Yanĥitūna Mina Al-Jibāli Buyūtāan 'Āminīna | 015-082* They had confidently hewn houses out of the mountains. | وَكَانُوا يَنْحِتُونَ مِنَ الْجِبَالِ بُيُوتا ً آمِنِينَ |
| Fa'akhadhat/humu Aş-Şayĥatu Muşbiĥīna | 015-083* So the Blast caught them early one morning | فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الصَّيْحَةُ مُصْبِحِينَ |
| Famā 'Aghná `Anhum Mā Kānū Yaksibūna | 015-084* and what they had been earning did not help them out. | فَمَا أَغْنَى عَنْهُمْ مَا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ |
| Wa Mā Khalaqnā As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđa Wa Mā Baynahumā 'Illā Bil-Ĥaqqi ۗ Wa 'Inna As-Sā`ata La'ātiyatun ۖ Fāşfaĥi Aş-Şafĥa Al-Jamīla | 015-085* We have only created Heaven and Earth and whatever lies between them for the sake of Truth. The Hour is coming on, so examine [matters] with fine discrimination. | وَمَا خَلَقْنَا السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا إِلاَّ بِالْحَقِّ ۗ وَإِنَّ السَّاعَةَ لَآتِيَةٌ ۖ فَاصْفَحِ الصَّفْحَ الْجَمِيلَ |
| 'Inna Rabbaka Huwa Al-Khallāqu Al-`Alīmu | 015-086* Your Lord is the Clever Creator! | إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ الْخَلاَّقُ الْعَلِيمُ |
| Wa Laqad 'Ātaynāka Sab`āan Mina Al-Mathānī Wa Al-Qur'āna Al-`Ažīma | 015-087* We have brought you seven Oft-Repeated (verses] plus the Mighty Qur`an. | وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَاكَ سَبْعا ً مِنَ الْمَثَانِي وَالْقُرْآنَ الْعَظِيمَ |
| Lā Tamuddanna `Aynayka 'Ilá Mā Matta`nā Bihi 'Azwājāan Minhum Wa Lā Taĥzan `Alayhim Wa Akhfiđ Janāĥaka Lilmu'uminīna | 015-088* Do not strain your eyes towards what We let some types of them enjoy; do not feel saddened by them, and lower your [sheltering] wing over believers. Handling Critics | لاَ تَمُدَّنَّ عَيْنَيْكَ إِلَى مَا مَتَّعْنَا بِهِ أَزْوَاجا ً مِنْهُمْ وَلاَ تَحْزَنْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَاخْفِضْ جَنَاحَكَ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ |
| Wa Qul 'Innī 'Anā An-Nadhīru Al-Mubīnu | 015-089* SAY:"I am the plain Warner," | وَقُلْ إِنِّي أَنَا النَّذِيرُ الْمُبِينُ |
| Kamā 'Anzalnā `Alá Al-Muqtasimīna | 015-090* (such as We have sent down for the quibblers | كَمَا أَنْزَلْنَا عَلَى الْمُقْتَسِمِينَ |
| Al-Ladhīna Ja`alū Al-Qur'āna `Iđīna | 015-091* who have torn the Quran apart. | الَّذِينَ جَعَلُوا الْقُرْآنَ عِضِينَ |
| Fawarabbika Lanas'alannahum 'Ajma`īna | 015-092* By your Lord, We shall question them all | فَوَرَبِّكَ لَنَسْأَلَنَّهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ |
| `Ammā Kānū Ya`malūna | 015-093* about whatever they have been doing!) | عَمَّا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ |
| Fāşda` Bimā Tu'umaru Wa 'A`riđ `Ani Al-Mushrikīna | 015-094* So proclaim whatever you are ordered to, and shun associators; | فَاصْدَعْ بِمَا تُؤْمَرُ وَأَعْرِضْ عَنِ الْمُشْرِكِينَ |
| 'Innā Kafaynāka Al-Mustahzi'īna | 015-095* We will suffice for you against such scoffers | إِنَّا كَفَيْنَاكَ الْمُسْتَهْزِئِينَ |
| Al-Ladhīna Yaj`alūna Ma`a Al-Lahi 'Ilahāan 'Ākhara ۚ Fasawfa Ya`lamūna | 015-096* who place another deity alongside God [Alone], They soon will know! Prayer is Consoling | الَّذِينَ يَجْعَلُونَ مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلَها ً آخَرَ ۚ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ |
| Wa Laqad Na`lamu 'Annaka Yađīqu Şadruka Bimā Yaqūlūna | 015-097* We already know how cramped your breast feels because of what they say | وَلَقَدْ نَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ يَضِيقُ صَدْرُكَ بِمَا يَقُولُونَ |
| Fasabbiĥ Biĥamdi Rabbika Wa Kun Mina As-Sājidīna | 015-098* so hymn your Lord's praise and be one of those who bow down on their knees (in worship). | فَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ وَكُنْ مِنَ السَّاجِدِينَ |
| Wa A`bud Rabbaka Ĥattá Ya'tiyaka Al-Yaqīnu | 015-099* Serve your Lord until conviction comes to you! | وَاعْبُدْ رَبَّكَ حَتَّى يَأْتِيَكَ الْيَقِينُ |
