   Wa An-Nāshiţāti Nashţāan (An-Nāzi`āt: 2).

   079.002 By the meteors rushing,
 | 
   وَالنَّاشِطَاتِ نَشْطاً | 
 
       
   Wa As-Sābiĥāti Sabĥāan (An-Nāzi`āt: 3). 
  
         | 
   079.003 By the lone stars floating,
 | 
   وَالسَّابِحَاتِ سَبْحاً | 
 
       
   Fālssābiqāti Sabqāan (An-Nāzi`āt: 4). 
  
         | 
   079.004 By the angels hastening,
 | 
   فَالسَّابِقَاتِ سَبْقاً | 
 
       
   Fālmudabbirāti 'Amrāan (An-Nāzi`āt: 5). 
  
         | 
   079.005 And those who govern the event,
 | 
   فَالْمُدَبِّرَاتِ أَمْراً | 
 
       
   Yawma Tarjufu Ar-Rājifahu (An-Nāzi`āt: 6). 
  
         | 
   079.006 On the day when the first trump resoundeth.
 | 
   يَوْمَ تَرْجُفُ الرَّاجِفَةُ | 
 
       
   Tatba`uhā Ar-Rādifahu (An-Nāzi`āt: 7). 
  
         | 
   079.007 And the second followeth it,
 | 
   تَتْبَعُهَا الرَّادِفَةُ | 
 
       
   Qulūbun Yawma'idhin Wājifahun (An-Nāzi`āt: 8). 
  
         | 
   079.008 On that day hearts beat painfully
 | 
   قُلُوبٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَاجِفَةٌ | 
 
       
   'Abşāruhā Khāshi`ahun (An-Nāzi`āt: 9). 
  
         | 
   079.009 While eyes are downcast
 | 
   أَبْصَارُهَا خَاشِعَةٌ | 
 
       
   Yaqūlūna 'A'innā Lamardūdūna Fī Al-Ĥāfirahi (An-Nāzi`āt: 10). 
  
         | 
   079.010 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state
 | 
   يَقُولُونَ أَئِنَّا لَمَرْدُودُونَ فِي الْحَافِرَةِ | 
 
       
   'A'idhā Kunnā `Ižāmāan Nakhirahan (An-Nāzi`āt: 11). 
  
         | 
   079.011 Even after we are crumbled bones ?
 | 
   أَئِذَا كُنَّا عِظَاماً نَخِرَةً | 
 
       
   Qālū Tilka 'Idhāan Karratun Khāsirahun (An-Nāzi`āt: 12). 
  
         | 
   079.012 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding.
 | 
   قَالُوا تِلْكَ إِذاً كَرَّةٌ خَاسِرَةٌ | 
 
       
   Fa'innamā Hiya Zajratun Wāĥidahun (An-Nāzi`āt: 13). 
  
         | 
   079.013 Surely it will need but one shout,
 | 
   فَإِنَّمَا هِيَ زَجْرَةٌ وَاحِدَةٌ | 
 
       
   Fa'idhā Hum Bis-Sāhirahi (An-Nāzi`āt: 14). 
  
         | 
   079.014 And lo! they will be awakened.
 | 
   فَإِذَا هُمْ بِالسَّاهِرَةِ | 
 
       
   Hal 'Tāka Ĥadīthu Mūsá (An-Nāzi`āt: 15). 
  
         | 
   079.015 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses ?
 | 
   هَلْ أتَاكَ حَدِيثُ مُوسَى | 
 
       
   'Idh Nādāhu Rabbuhu Bil-Wādi Al-Muqaddasi Ţuwan (An-Nāzi`āt: 16). 
  
         | 
   079.016 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa,
 | 
   إِذْ نَادَاهُ رَبُّهُ بِالْوَادِ الْمُقَدَّسِ طُوىً | 
 
       
   Adh/hab 'Ilá Fir`awna 'Innahu Ţaghá (An-Nāzi`āt: 17). 
  
         | 
   079.017 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled -
 | 
   اذْهَبْ إِلَى فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّهُ طَغَى | 
 
       
   Faqul Hal Laka 'Ilá 'An Tazakká (An-Nāzi`āt: 18). 
  
         | 
   079.018 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace) ?
 | 
   فَقُلْ هَلْ لَكَ إِلَى أَنْ تَزَكَّى | 
 
       
    Wa 'Ahdiyaka 'Ilá Rabbika Fatakhshá (An-Nāzi`āt: 19). 
  
         | 
   079.019 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him).
 | 
   وَأَهْدِيَكَ إِلَى رَبِّكَ فَتَخْشَى | 
 
       
   Fa'arāhu Al-'Āyata Al-Kubrá (An-Nāzi`āt: 20). 
  
         | 
   079.020 And he showed him the tremendous token.
 | 
   فَأَرَاهُ الآيَةَ الْكُبْرَى | 
 
       
   Fakadhdhaba Wa `Aşá (An-Nāzi`āt: 21). 
  
         | 
   079.021 But he denied and disobeyed,
 | 
   فَكَذَّبَ وَعَصَى | 
 
       
   Thumma 'Adbara Yas`á (An-Nāzi`āt: 22). 
  
         | 
   079.022 Then turned he away in haste,
 | 
   ثُمَّ أَدْبَرَ يَسْعَى | 
 
       
   Faĥashara Fanādá (An-Nāzi`āt: 23). 
  
         | 
   079.023 Then gathered he and summoned
 | 
   فَحَشَرَ فَنَادَى | 
 
       
   Faqāla 'Anā Rabbukumu Al-'A`lá (An-Nāzi`āt: 24). 
  
         | 
   079.024 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest."
 | 
   فَقَالَ أَنَا رَبُّكُمُ الأَعْلَى | 
 
       
   Fa'akhadhahu Allāhu Nakāla Al-'Ākhirati Wa Al-'Ūlá (An-Nāzi`āt: 25). 
  
         | 
   079.025 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former.
 | 
   فَأَخَذَهُ اللَّهُ نَكَالَ الآخِرَةِ وَالأُولَى | 
 
       
   'Inna Fī Dhālika La`ibratan Liman Yakhshá (An-Nāzi`āt: 26). 
  
         | 
   079.026 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth.
 | 
   إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَعِبْرَة ً لِمَنْ يَخْشَى | 
 
       
   'A'antum 'Ashaddu Khalqāan 'Ami As-Samā'u ۚ Banāhā (An-Nāzi`āt: 27).  
  
         | 
   079.027 Are ye the harder to create, or is the heaven that He built ?
 | 
   أَأَنْتُمْ أَشَدُّ خَلْقاً أَمِ السَّمَاءُ ۚ بَنَاهَا  | 
 
       
   Rafa`a Samkahā Fasawwāhā (An-Nāzi`āt: 28). 
  
         | 
   079.028 He raised the height thereof and ordered it;
 | 
   رَفَعَ سَمْكَهَا فَسَوَّاهَا | 
 
       
    Wa 'Aghţasha Laylahā Wa 'Akhraja Đuĥāhā (An-Nāzi`āt: 29). 
  
         | 
   079.029 And He made dark the night thereof, and He brought forth the morn thereof.
 | 
   وَأَغْطَشَ لَيْلَهَا وَأَخْرَجَ ضُحَاهَا | 
 
       
   Wa Al-'Arđa Ba`da Dhālika Daĥāhā (An-Nāzi`āt: 30). 
  
         | 
   079.030 And after that He spread the earth,
 | 
   وَالأَرْضَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ دَحَاهَا | 
 
       
   'Akhraja Minhā Mā'ahā Wa Mar`āhā (An-Nāzi`āt: 31). 
  
         | 
   079.031 And produced therefrom the water thereof and the pasture thereof,
 | 
   أَخْرَجَ مِنْهَا مَاءَهَا وَمَرْعَاهَا | 
 
       
   Wa Al-Jibāla 'Arsāhā (An-Nāzi`āt: 32). 
  
         | 
   079.032 And He made fast the hills,
 | 
   وَالْجِبَالَ أَرْسَاهَا | 
 
       
   Matā`āan Lakum Wa Li'an`āmikum (An-Nāzi`āt: 33). 
  
         | 
   079.033 A provision for you and for your cattle.
 | 
   مَتَاعاً لَكُمْ وَلِأَنْعَامِكُمْ | 
 
       
   Fa'idhā Jā'ati Aţ-Ţāmmatu Al-Kubrá (An-Nāzi`āt: 34). 
  
         | 
   079.034 But when the great disaster cometh,
 | 
   فَإِذَا جَاءَتِ الطَّامَّةُ الْكُبْرَى | 
 
       
   Yawma Yatadhakkaru Al-'Insānu Mā Sa`á (An-Nāzi`āt: 35). 
  
         | 
   079.035 The day when man will call to mind his (whole) endeavour,
 | 
   يَوْمَ يَتَذَكَّرُ الإِنسَانُ مَا سَعَى | 
 
       
    Wa Burrizati Al-Jaĥīmu Liman Yará (An-Nāzi`āt: 36). 
  
         | 
   079.036 And hell will stand forth visible to him who seeth,
 | 
   وَبُرِّزَتِ الْجَحِيمُ لِمَنْ يَرَى | 
 
       
   Fa'ammā Man Ţaghá (An-Nāzi`āt: 37). 
  
         | 
   079.037 Then, as for him who rebelled
 | 
   فَأَمَّا مَنْ طَغَى | 
 
       
    Wa 'Āthara Al-Ĥayāata Ad-Dunyā (An-Nāzi`āt: 38). 
  
         | 
   079.038 And chose the life of the world,
 | 
   وَآثَرَ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا | 
 
       
   Fa'inna Al-Jaĥīma Hiya Al-Ma'w5 (An-Nāzi`āt: 39). 
  
         | 
   079.039 Lo! hell will be his home.
 | 
   فَإِنَّ الْجَحِيمَ هِيَ الْمَأْوَى | 
 
       
    Wa 'Ammā Man Khāfa Maqāma Rabbihi Wa Nahá An-Nafsa `Ani Al-Hawá (An-Nāzi`āt: 40). 
  
         | 
   079.040 But as for him who feared to stand before his Lord and restrained his soul from lust,
 | 
   وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِ وَنَهَى النَّفْسَ عَنِ الْهَوَى | 
 
       
   Fa'inna Al-Jannata Hiya Al-Ma'w5 (An-Nāzi`āt: 41). 
  
         | 
   079.041 Lo! the Garden will be his home.
 | 
   فَإِنَّ الْجَنَّةَ هِيَ الْمَأْوَى | 
 
       
   Yas'alūnaka `Ani As-Sā`ati 'Ayyāna Mursāhā (An-Nāzi`āt: 42). 
  
         | 
   079.042 They ask thee of the Hour: when will it come to port ?
 | 
   يَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنِ السَّاعَةِ أَيَّانَ مُرْسَاهَا | 
 
       
   Fīma 'Anta Min Dhikrāhā (An-Nāzi`āt: 43). 
  
         | 
   079.043 Why (ask they) ? What hast thou to tell thereof ?
 | 
   فِيمَ أَنْتَ مِنْ ذِكْرَاهَا | 
 
       
   'Ilá Rabbika Muntahāhā (An-Nāzi`āt: 44). 
  
         | 
   079.044 Unto thy Lord belongeth (knowledge of) the term thereof.
 | 
   إِلَى رَبِّكَ مُنتَهَاهَا | 
 
       
   'Innamā 'Anta Mundhiru Man Yakhshāhā (An-Nāzi`āt: 45). 
  
         | 
   079.045 Thou art but a warner unto him who feareth it.
 | 
   إِنَّمَا أَنْتَ مُنذِرُمَنْ يَخْشَاهَا | 
 
       
   Ka'annahum Yawma Yarawnahā Lam Yalbathū 'Illā `Ashīyatan 'Aw Đuĥāhā (An-Nāzi`āt: 46). 
  
         | 
   079.046 On the day when they behold it, it will be as if they had but tarried for an evening or the morn thereof.
 | 
   كَأَنَّهُمْ يَوْمَ يَرَوْنَهَا لَمْ يَلْبَثُوا إِلاَّ عَشِيَّةً أَوْ ضُحَاهَا |
