Yā 'Ayyuhā Al-Muddaththiru (Al-Muddaththir: 1). 074.001 O thou wrapped up (in the mantle)! ي‍‍َا‌أَيُّهَا‌ ‌الْمُدَّثِّرُ
Qum Fa'andhir (Al-Muddaththir: 2). 074.002 Arise and deliver thy warning! قُ‍‍مْ فَأَ‌ن‍‍ذِ‌ر‍‍ْ‍
Wa Rabbaka Fakabbir (Al-Muddaththir: 3). 074.003 And thy Lord do thou magnify! وَ‌‍‍‍رَبَّكَ فَكَبِّ‍‍ر‌ْ
Wa Thiyābaka Faţahhir (Al-Muddaththir: 4). 074.004 And thy garments keep free from stain! وَثِيَابَكَ فَ‍‍‍‍طَ‍‍هِّ‍‍ر‌ْ
Wa Ar-Rujza Fāhjur (Al-Muddaththir: 5). 074.005 And all abomination shun! وَ‌ال‍‍رُّجْ‍‍زَ‌ فَاهْ‍‍جُ‍‍رْ
Wa Lā Tamnun Tastakthiru (Al-Muddaththir: 6). 074.006 Nor expect, in giving, any increase (for thyself)! وَلاَ‌ تَمْنُ‍‌‍ن‌ْ تَسْتَكْثِرُ
Wa Lirabbika Fāşbir (Al-Muddaththir: 7). 074.007 But, for thy Lord's (Cause), be patient and constant! وَلِ‍‍‍رَبِّكَ فَاصْ‍‍بِ‍‍ر‌ْ
Fa'idhā Nuqira An-Nāqūri (Al-Muddaththir: 8). 074.008 Finally, when the Trumpet is sounded, فَإِ‌ذَ‌ا‌ نُ‍‍‍‍قِ‍‍رَ فِي ‌ال‍‍نَّ‍‍اقُ‍‍و‌رِ
Fadhālika Yawma'idhin Yawmun `Asīrun (Al-Muddaththir: 9). 074.009 That will be- that Day - a Day of Distress,- فَذَلِكَ يَوْمَئِذ‌ٍ يَ‍‍وْمٌ عَسِيرٌ
`Alá Al-Kāfirīna Ghayru Yasīrin (Al-Muddaththir: 10). 074.010 Far from easy for those without Faith. عَلَى‌ ‌الْكَافِ‍‍ر‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ غَ‍‍يْ‍‍رُ‌ يَسِي‍‍ر‍‍ٍ‍
Dharnī Wa Man Khalaqtu Waĥīdāan (Al-Muddaththir: 11). 074.011 Leave Me alone, (to deal) with the (creature) whom I created (bare and) alone!- ذَ‌رْنِي ‌وَمَ‍‌‍ن‌ْ خَ‍‍لَ‍‍قْ‍‍‍‍تُ ‌وَحِيد‌اً
Wa Ja`altu Lahu Mālāan Mamdūdāan (Al-Muddaththir: 12). 074.012 To whom I granted resources in abundance, وَجَعَلْتُ لَهُ مَالاً مَمْدُ‌و‌د‌اً
Wa Banīna Shuhūdāan (Al-Muddaththir: 13). 074.013 And sons to be by his side!- وَبَن‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ شُهُو‌د‌اً
Wa Mahhadtu Lahu Tamhīdāan (Al-Muddaththir: 14). 074.014 To whom I made (life) smooth and comfortable! وَمَهَّ‍‍دْتُ لَهُ تَمْهِيد‌اً
Thumma Yaţma`u 'An 'Azīda (Al-Muddaththir: 15). 074.015 Yet is he greedy-that I should add (yet more);- ثُ‍‍مّ‌َ يَ‍‍‍‍‍طْ‍‍‍‍مَعُ ‌أَ‌ن‌ْ ‌أَ‌زِيدَ
Kallā ۖ 'Innahu Kāna Li'y7tinā `Anīdāan (Al-Muddaththir: 16). 074.016 By no means! For to Our Signs he has been refractory! كَلاَّ ۖ ‌إِنَّ‍‍هُ ك‍‍َانَ لِأيَاتِنَا‌ عَنِيد‌اً
Sa'urhiquhu Şa`ūdāan (Al-Muddaththir: 17). 074.017 Soon will I visit him with a mount of calamities! سَأُ‌رْهِ‍‍‍‍قُ‍‍هُ صَ‍‍عُو‌د‌اً
'Innahu Fakkara Wa Qaddara (Al-Muddaththir: 18). 074.018 For he thought and he plotted;- إِنَّ‍‍هُ فَكَّ‍‍‍رَ وَقَ‍‍دَّ‌‍رَ
Faqutila Kayfa Qaddara (Al-Muddaththir: 19). 074.019 And woe to him! How he plotted!- فَ‍‍قُ‍‍تِلَ كَ‍‍يْ‍‍فَ قَ‍‍دَّ‌‍رَ
Thumma Qutila Kayfa Qaddara (Al-Muddaththir: 20). 074.020 Yea, Woe to him; How he plotted!- ثُ‍‍مّ‌َ قُ‍‍تِلَ كَ‍‍يْ‍‍فَ قَ‍‍دَّ‌‍رَ
Thumma Nažara (Al-Muddaththir: 21). 074.021 Then he looked round; ثُ‍‍مَّ‍ نَ‍‍‍‍ظَ‍رَ
Thumma `Abasa Wa Basara (Al-Muddaththir: 22). 074.022 Then he frowned and he scowled; ثُ‍‍مَّ‍ عَبَسَ ‌وَبَسَ‍‍‍رَ
Thumma 'Adbara Wa Astakbara (Al-Muddaththir: 23). 074.023 Then he turned back and was haughty; ثُ‍‍مّ‌َ ‌أَ‌دْبَ‍‍‍رَ وَ‌اسْتَكْ‍‍بَ‍‍‍رَ
Faqāla 'In Hādhā 'Illā Siĥrun Yu'utharu (Al-Muddaththir: 24). 074.024 Then said he: "This is nothing but magic, derived from of old; فَ‍‍قَ‍الَ ‌إِ‌ن‌ْ هَذَ‌ا إِلاَّ‌ سِحْرٌ يُؤْثَرُ
'In Hādhā 'Illā Qawlu Al-Bashari (Al-Muddaththir: 25). 074.025 "This is nothing but the word of a mortal!" إِ‌ن‌ْ هَذَ‌ا إِلاَّ قَ‍‍وْلُ ‌الْبَشَ‍‍رِ
Sa'uşlīhi Saqara (Al-Muddaththir: 26). 074.026 Soon will I cast him into Hell-Fire! سَأُ‍‍صْ‍‍ل‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍هِ سَ‍‍ق‍‍َ‍‍‍رَ
Wa Mā 'Adrāka Mā Saqaru (Al-Muddaththir: 27). 074.027 And what will explain to thee what Hell-Fire is? وَمَ‍‍ا أَ‌دْ‌‍‍رَ‍‌اكَ مَا‌ سَ‍‍ق‍‍َ‍‍رُ
Lā Tubqī Wa Lā Tadharu (Al-Muddaththir: 28). 074.028 Naught doth it permit to endure, and naught doth it leave alone!- لاَ‌ تُ‍‍بْ‍‍‍‍‍‍قِ‍‍ي ‌وَلاَ‌ تَذَ‌رُ
Lawwāĥatun Lilbashari (Al-Muddaththir: 29). 074.029 Darkening and changing the colour of man! لَوَّ‌احَة ٌ لِلْبَشَ‍‍رِ
`Alayhā Tis`ata `Ashara (Al-Muddaththir: 30). 074.030 Over it are Nineteen. عَلَيْهَا‌ تِسْعَةَ عَشَ‍‍‍رَ
Wa Mā Ja`alnā 'Aşĥāba An-Nāri 'Illā Malā'ikatan ۙ Wa Mā Ja`alnā `Iddatahum 'Illā Fitnatan Lilladhīna Kafarū Liyastayqina Al-Ladhīna 'Ūtū Al-Kitāba Wa Yazdāda Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū 'Īmānāan ۙ Wa Lā Yartāba Al-Ladhīna 'Ūtū Al-Kitāba Wa Al-Mu'uminūna ۙ Wa Liyaqūla Al-Ladhīna Fī Qulūbihim Marađun Wa Al-Kāfirūna Mādhā 'Arāda Allāhu Bihadhā Mathalāan ۚ Kadhālika Yuđillu Allāhu Man Yashā'u Wa Yahdī Man Yashā'u ۚ Wa Mā Ya`lamu Junūda Rabbika 'Illā Huwa ۚ Wa Mā Hiya 'Illā Dhikrá Lilbashari (Al-Muddaththir: 31). 074.031 And We have set none but angels as Guardians of the Fire; and We have fixed their number only as a trial for Unbelievers,- in order that the People of the Book may arrive at certainty, and the Believers may increase in Faith,- and that no doubts may be left for the People of the Book and the Believers, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the Unbelievers may say, "What symbol doth God intend by this ?" Thus doth God leave to stray whom He pleaseth, and guide whom He pleaseth: and none can know the forces of thy Lord, except He and this is no other than a warning to mankind. وَمَا‌ جَعَلْنَ‍‍ا أَ‍‍صْ‍‍ح‍‍َابَ ‌ال‍‍نّ‍‍َا‌رِ ‌إِلاَّ‌ مَلاَئِكَةً ۙ ‌وَمَا‌ جَعَلْنَا‌ عِدَّتَهُمْ ‌إِلاَّ‌ فِتْنَة ً‌ لِلَّذ‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ كَفَرُ‌وا لِيَسْتَيْ‍‍قِ‍‍نَ ‌الَّذ‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ ‌أ‍ُ‍‌وتُوا ‌الْكِت‍‍َابَ ‌وَيَزْ‌د‍َ‌ادَ ‌الَّذ‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ ‌آمَنُ‍‍وا ‌إِيمَاناً ۙ ‌وَلاَ‌ يَرْت‍‍َابَ ‌الَّذ‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ ‌أ‍ُ‍‌وتُوا ‌الْكِت‍‍َابَ ‌وَ‌الْمُؤْمِن‍‍ُ‍ونَ ۙ ‌وَلِيَ‍‍قُ‍‍ولَ ‌الَّذ‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ فِي قُ‍‍لُوبِهِمْ مَ‍رَض‍ٌ ‌وَ‌الْكَافِر‍ُ‍‌ونَ مَا‌ذَ‌ا أَ‌رَ‌ادَ ‌اللَّ‍‍هُ بِهَذَ‌ا‌ مَثَلاً ۚ كَذَلِكَ يُ‍‍ضِ‍‍لُّ ‌اللَّ‍‍هُ مَ‍‌‍ن‌ْ يَش‍‍َا‌ءُ وَيَهْدِي مَ‍‌‍ن‌ْ يَش‍‍َا‌ءُ‌ ۚ ‌وَمَا‌ يَعْلَمُ جُن‍‍ُ‍و‌دَ ‍رَبِّكَ ‌إِلاَّ‌ هُوَ ۚ ‌وَمَا‌ هِيَ ‌إِلاَّ ذِكْ‍رَ‌ى‌ لِلْبَشَ‍‍رِ
Kallā Wa Al-Qamari (Al-Muddaththir: 32). 074.032 Nay, verily: By the Moon, كَلاَّ وَ‌الْ‍‍‍‍قَ‍‍مَ‍‍رِ
Wa Al-Layli 'Idh 'Adbara (Al-Muddaththir: 33). 074.033 And by the Night as it retreateth, وَ‌اللَّ‍‍يْ‍‍لِ ‌إِ‌ذْ أَ‌دْبَ‍‍‍‍‍رَ
Wa Aş-Şubĥi 'Idhā 'Asfara (Al-Muddaththir: 34). 074.034 And by the Dawn as it shineth forth,- وَ‌ال‍‍‍‍صُّ‍‍بْ‍‍حِ ‌إِ‌ذَ‌ا أَسْفَ‍رَ
'Innahā La'iĥdá Al-Kubari (Al-Muddaththir: 35). 074.035 This is but one of the mighty (portents), إِنَّ‍‍هَا‌ لَإِحْدَ‌ى‌ ‌الْكُ‍‍بَ‍‍رِ
Nadhīan Lilbashari (Al-Muddaththir: 36). 074.036 A warning to mankind,- نَذِي‍‍ر‌اً لِلْبَشَ‍‍رِ
Liman Shā'a Minkum 'An Yataqaddama 'Aw Yata'akhkhara (Al-Muddaththir: 37). 074.037 To any of you that chooses to press forward, or to follow behind;- لِمَ‍‌‍ن‌ْ ش‍‍َا‌ءَ‌ مِ‍‌‍نْ‍‍كُمْ ‌أَ‌ن‌ْ يَتَ‍‍‍‍قَ‍‍دَّمَ ‌أَ‌وْ‌ يَتَأَ‍خَّ‍رَ
Kullu Nafsin Bimā Kasabat Rahīnahun (Al-Muddaththir: 38). 074.038 Every soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds. كُلُّ نَفْسٍ بِمَا‌ كَسَبَتْ ‌‍‍‍رَهِينَةٌ
'Illā 'Aşĥāba Al-Yamīni (Al-Muddaththir: 39). 074.039 Except the Companions of the Right Hand. إِلاَّ أَ‍‍صْ‍‍ح‍‍َابَ ‌الْيَمِينِ
Fī Jannātin Yatasā'alūna (Al-Muddaththir: 40). 074.040 (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other, فِي جَ‍‍نّ‍‍َاتٍ يَتَس‍‍َا‌ءَلُونَ
`Ani Al-Mujrimīna (Al-Muddaththir: 41). 074.041 And (ask) of the Sinners: عَنِ ‌الْمُ‍‍جْ‍‍رِمِينَ
Mā Salakakum Fī Saqara (Al-Muddaththir: 42). 074.042 "What led you into Hell Fire?" مَا‌ سَلَكَكُمْ فِي سَ‍‍‍‍‍ق‍‍َ‍‍‍رَ
Qālū Lam Naku Mina Al-Muşallīna (Al-Muddaththir: 43). 074.043 They will say: "We were not of those who prayed; قَ‍‍الُوا لَمْ نَكُ مِنَ ‌الْمُ‍‍صَ‍‍لِّينَ
Wa Lam Naku Nuţ`imu Al-Miskīna (Al-Muddaththir: 44). 074.044 "Nor were we of those who fed the indigent; وَلَمْ نَكُ نُ‍‍‍‍‍طْ‍‍‍‍عِمُ ‌الْمِسْكِينَ
Wa Kunnā Nakhūđu Ma`a Al-Khā'iđīna (Al-Muddaththir: 45). 074.045 "But we used to talk vanities with vain talkers; وَكُ‍‍نَّ‍‍ا‌ نَ‍‍‍‍خُ‍‍و‍‍ضُ مَعَ ‌الْ‍‍خَ‍‍ائِ‍‍ضِ‍‍ينَ
Wa Kunnā Nukadhdhibu Biyawmi Ad-Dīni (Al-Muddaththir: 46). 074.046 "And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, وَكُ‍‍نَّ‍‍ا‌ نُكَذِّبُ بِيَ‍‍وْمِ ‌ال‍‍دِّينِ
Ĥattá 'Atānā Al-Yaqīnu (Al-Muddaththir: 47). 074.047 "Until there came to us (the Hour) that is certain." حَتَّ‍‍ى أَتَانَا‌ ‌الْيَ‍‍‍‍قِ‍‍ينُ
Famā Tanfa`uhum Shafā`atu Ash-Shāfi`īna (Al-Muddaththir: 48). 074.048 Then will no intercession of (any) intercessors profit them. فَمَا‌ تَ‍‌‍نْ‍‍فَعُهُمْ شَفَاعَةُ ‌ال‍‍شَّافِعِينَ
Famā Lahum `Ani At-Tadhkirati Mu`rīna (Al-Muddaththir: 49). 074.049 Then what is the matter with them that they turn away from admonition?- فَمَا‌ لَهُمْ عَنِ ‌ال‍‍تَّذْكِ‍‍‍رَةِ مُعْ‍‍رِ‍ضِ‍‍ينَ
Ka'annahum Ĥumurun Mustanfirahun (Al-Muddaththir: 50). 074.050 As if they were affrighted asses, كَأَنَّ‍‍هُمْ حُمُرٌ مُسْتَ‍‌‍نْ‍‍فِ‍‍‍رَةٌ
Farrat Min Qaswarahin (Al-Muddaththir: 51). 074.051 Fleeing from a lion! فَ‍‍‍رَّتْ مِ‍‌‍ن‌ْ قَ‍‍سْوَ‌‍رَةٍ
Bal Yurīdu Kullu Amri'in Minhum 'An Yu'utá Şuĥufāan Munashsharahan (Al-Muddaththir: 52). 074.052 Forsooth, each one of them wants to be given scrolls (of revelation) spread out! بَلْ يُ‍‍ر‍ِ‍ي‍‍دُ‌ كُلُّ ‌امْ‍‍رِئٍ مِ‍‌‍نْ‍‍هُمْ ‌أَ‌ن‌ْ يُؤْتَى‌ صُ‍‍حُفاً مُنَشَّ‍رَةً
Kallā ۖ Bal Lā Yakhāfūna Al-'Ākhiraha (Al-Muddaththir: 53). 074.053 By no means! But they fear not the Hereafter, كَلاَّ ۖ بَلْ لاَ‌ يَ‍‍‍‍خَ‍‍اف‍‍ُ‍ونَ ‌الآ‍‍خِ‍رَةَ
Kallā 'Innahu Tadhkirahun (Al-Muddaththir: 54). 074.054 Nay, this surely is an admonition: كَلاَّ إِنَّ‍‍هُ تَذْكِ‍‍‍رَةٌ
Faman Shā'a Dhakarahu (Al-Muddaththir: 55). 074.055 Let any who will, keep it in remembrance! فَمَ‍‌‍ن‌ْ ش‍‍َا‌ءَ ذَكَ‍‍‍رَهُ
Wa Mā Yadhkurūna 'Illā 'An Yashā'a Allāhu ۚ Huwa 'Ahlu At-Taqwá Wa 'Ahlu Al-Maghfirahi (Al-Muddaththir: 56). 074.056 But none will keep it in remembrance except as God wills: He is the Lord of Righteousness, and the Lord of Forgiveness. وَمَا‌ يَذْكُر‍ُ‍‌ونَ ‌إِلاَّ أَ‌ن‌ْ يَش‍‍َا‌ءَ ‌اللَّ‍‍هُ ۚ هُوَ أَهْلُ ‌ال‍‍تَّ‍‍‍‍‍قْ‍‍‍‍وَ‌ى وَ‌أَهْلُ ‌الْمَ‍‍غْ‍‍فِ‍رَةِ
