THESE FORTY-FIVE verses are arranged in five sections; they were revealed after The Standard 25 and before Mary 19. The chapter bears two titles, Originator, as well as The Angels; both words appear in verse 1. It is a late Meccan revelation. This chapter contains a statement concerning the futility of intercession (III), as well as comfort for the Prophet in his role as a warner. 'Fresh and Salt Water" (or "The Two Seas") is a parable also set in this chapter (II). In the name of God, the Mercy-giving, the Merciful! (I)
Al-Ĥamdu Lillahi Fāţiri As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđi Jā`ili Al-Malā'ikati Rusulāan 'Ūlī 'Ajniĥatin Mathná Wa Thulātha Wa Rubā`a Yazīdu Fī Al-Khalqi Mā ۚ Yashā'u 'Inna Al-Laha `Alá Kulli ۚ Shay'in Qadīrun    035-001* Praise be to God, Originator of Heaven and Earth, Who appoints the Angels as winged messengers in pairs, and in threes and fours. He increases anything He wishes through creation; God is Capable of everything! الْحَمْدُ‌ لِلَّهِ فَ‍‍ا‍طِ‍‍رِ‌ ‌ال‍‍سَّمَا‌و‍َ‍‌اتِ ‌وَ‌الأَ‌رْ‍‍ضِ جَاعِلِ ‌الْمَلاَئِكَةِ ‌رُسُلاً‌ ‌أ‍ُ‍‌ولِ‍‍ي ‌أَج‍‍ْ‍نِحَةٍ‌ مَثْنَى‌ ‌وَثُلاَثَ ‌وَ‌رُب‍‍َ‍اعَ يَز‍ِ‍ي‍‍دُ‌ فِي ‌الْ‍‍خَ‍‍لْ‍‍قِ مَا‌ ۚ يَش‍‍َ‍ا‌ءُ‌ ‌إِنَّ ‌ال‍‍لَّهَ عَلَى‌ كُلِّ ۚ شَيْء‌‌ٍقَ‍‍د‍ِ‍ي‍‍ر‌‌ٌ
Mā Yaftaĥi Al-Lahu Lilnnāsi Min Raĥmatin Falā Mumsika Lahā ۖ Wa Mā Yumsik Falā Mursila Lahu Min Ba`dihi ۚ Wa Huwa Al-`Azīzu Al-Ĥakīmu    035-002* There is no withholding any mercy that God may open up for mankind; while neither is there any [means of] sending anything later on once He has withheld it. He is the Powerful, the Wise. مَا‌ يَفْتَحِ ‌ال‍‍لَّهُ لِل‍‍نّ‍‍َ‍اسِ مِ‍‍نْ ‌‍رَحْمَة‌‍ٍ‌ فَلاَ‌ مُمْسِكَ لَهَا‌ ۖ ‌وَمَا‌ يُمْسِكْ فَلاَ‌ مُرْسِلَ لَه ُ‌ مِ‍‍نْ بَعْدِه ِ‍ِ‍‌ ۚ ‌وَهُوَ‌ ‌الْعَز‍ِ‍ي‍‍زُ‌ ‌الْحَك‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍مُ
Yā 'Ayyuhā An-Nāsu Adhkurū Ni`mata Al-Lahi `Alaykum ۚ Hal Min Khāliqin Ghayru Al-Lahi Yarzuqukum Mina As-Samā'i Wa Al-'Arđi ۚ Lā 'Ilāha 'Illā Huwa ۖ Fa'anná Tu'ufakūna    035-003* Mankind, remember God's favor towards you. Is there any creator besides God who provides for you out of the sky and earth? There is no deity except Him; yet you shrug Him off! ي‍‍َ‍ا‌أَيُّهَا‌ ‌ال‍‍نّ‍‍َ‍اسُ ‌ا‌ذْكُرُ‌و‌ا‌ نِعْمَةَ ‌ال‍‍لَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ هَلْ ۚ مِنْ خَ‍‍ال‍‍ِ‍‍‍قٍ غَ‍‍يْرُ‌ ‌ال‍‍لَّهِ يَرْ‌زُ‍‍قُ‍‍كُ‍‍مْ مِنَ ‌ال‍‍سَّم‍‍َ‍ا‌ءِ‌ ‌وَ‌الأَ‌رْ‍‍ضِ لاَ‌ ۚ ‌إِلَهَ ‌إِلاَّ‌ هُوَ‌ فَأَنّ‍‍َ‍ى‌ ۖ تُؤْفَك‍‍ُ‍ونَ
Wa 'In Yukadhdhibūka Faqad Kudhdhibat Rusulun Min Qablika ۚ Wa 'Ilá Al-Lahi Turja`u Al-'Umūru    035-004* If they should reject you, well, messengers before you have already been rejected. To God are matters referred. وَ‌إِنْ يُكَذِّب‍‍ُ‍وكَ فَ‍‍قَ‍‍‍‍دْ‌ كُذِّبَتْ ‌رُسُلٌ‌ مِ‍‌‍نْ قَ‍‍‍‍ب‍‍ْ‍لِكَ ۚ ‌وَ‌إِلَى‌ ‌ال‍‍لَّهِ تُرْجَعُ ‌الأُم‍‍ُ‍و‌رُ‌
Yā 'Ayyuhā An-Nāsu 'Inna Wa`da Al-Lahi Ĥaqqun ۖ Falā Taghurrannakumu Al-Ĥayā Atu ۖ Ad-Dunyā Wa Lā Yaghurrannakum Bil-Lahi Al-Gharūru    035-005* Mankind, God's promise is true; do not let worldly life lure you on nor let the Deceiver deceive you concerning God. ي‍‍َ‍ا‌أَيُّهَا‌ ‌ال‍‍نّ‍‍َ‍اسُ ‌إِنَّ ‌وَعْدَ‌ ‌ال‍‍لَّهِ حَ‍‍قّ‍‍‌‍ٌ‌ فَلاَ‌ ۖ تَ‍‍غُ‍‍رَّنّ‍‍َ‍كُمُ ‌الْحَي‍‍َ‍اةُ ‌ال‍‍دُّن‍‍ْ‍يَا‌ ‌وَلاَ‌ ۖ يَ‍‍غُ‍‍رَّنّ‍‍َ‍كُ‍‍مْ بِ‍ال‍‍لَّهِ ‌الْ‍‍غَ‍‍ر‍ُ‍‌و‌رُ‌
'Inna Ash-Shayţāna Lakum `Adūwun Fa Attakhidhūhu `Adūwāan ۚ 'Innamā Yad`ū Ĥizbahu Liyakūnū Min 'Aşĥābi As-Sa`īri    035-006* Satan is an enemy of yours, so treat him as an enemy: he only calls his party to become inmates of the Blaze. إِنَّ ‌ال‍‍شَّيْ‍‍ط‍‍‍‍َ‍انَ لَكُمْ عَدُ‌وّ‌‌ٌ‌ فَ‍‍اتَّ‍‍خِ‍‍ذ‍ُ‍‌وه ُ‌ عَدُ‌وّ‌ا‌‌ ًۚ ‌إِنّ‍‍َ‍مَا‌ يَ‍‍دْعُو‌ حِزْبَه ُ‌ لِيَكُونُو‌ا‌ مِنْ ‌أَ‍‍صْ‍‍ح‍‍َ‍ابِ ‌ال‍‍سَّع‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍رِ‌
Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Lahum `Adhābun Shadīdun Wa ۖ Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Wa `Amilū Aş-Şāliĥāti Lahum Maghfiratun Wa 'Ajrun Kabīrun    035-007* Those who disbelieve will have severe punishment while those who believe and act honorably will have forgiveness and great earnings. (II) الَّذ‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ كَفَرُ‌و‌ا‌ لَهُمْ عَذ‍َ‍‌اب‌‍ٌ‌ شَد‍ِ‍ي‍‍د‌ٌۖ ‌وَ‌الَّذ‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ ‌آمَنُو‌ا‌ ‌وَعَمِلُو‌ا‌ال‍‍‍‍صّ‍‍َالِح‍‍َ‍اتِ لَهُ‍‍مْ مَ‍‍غْ‍‍فِ‍رَةٌ‌ ‌وَ‌أَج‍‍ْ‍ر‌‌ٌ‌ كَب‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍ر‌‌ٌ
'Afaman Zuyyina Lahu Sū'u `Amalihi Fara'āhu Ĥasanāan ۖ Fa'inna Al-Laha Yuđillu Man Yashā'u Wa Yahdī Man Yashā'u ۖ Falā Tadh/hab Nafsuka `Alayhim Ĥasarātin ۚ 'Inna Al-Laha `Alīmun Bimā Yaşna`ūna    035-008* Does anyone exist whose evil action seems so attractive to him that he regards it as fine? God lets anyone He wishes go astray while He guides whomever He wishes. Do not let yourself go around pitying them; God is Aware of what they are producing.
God's Role
أَفَمَ‍‌‍نْ ‌زُيِّنَ لَه ُ‌ س‍‍ُ‍و‌ءُ‌ عَمَلِه ِ‍ِ‍‌ فَ‍رَ‌آهُ حَسَنا‌‌ ًۖ فَإِنَّ ‌ال‍‍لَّهَ يُ‍‍ضِ‍‍لُّ مَ‍‍نْ يَش‍‍َ‍ا‌ءُ‌ ‌وَيَهْدِي مَ‍‍نْ يَش‍‍َ‍ا‌ءُ‌ ۖ فَلاَ‌ تَذْهَ‍‍بْ نَفْسُكَ عَلَيْهِمْ حَسَر‍َ‍‌ات‌‍ٍۚ ‌إِنَّ ‌ال‍‍لَّهَ عَل‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍م‌‍ٌ‌ بِمَا‌ يَ‍‍صْ‍‍نَع‍‍ُ‍ونَ
Wa Allāhu Al-Ladhī 'Arsala Ar-Riyāĥa Fatuthīru Saĥābāan Fasuqnāhu 'Ilá Baladin Mayyitin Fa'aĥyaynā Bihi Al-'Arđa Ba`da Mawtihā ۚ Kadhālika An-Nushūru    035-009* God is the One Who sends the winds to blow the clouds along. We drive them on to a dead land, and revive the earth by means of them after it has died. Such is regeneration. وَ‌اللَّهُ ‌الَّذِي ‌أَ‌رْسَلَ ‌ال‍‍رِّي‍‍َ‍احَ فَتُث‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍ر‍ُ‍‌ سَحَابا‌‌ ً‌ فَسُ‍‍‍‍ق‍‍‍‍ْ‍ن‍‍َ‍اهُ‍‍~‍ُ ‌إِلَى‌ بَلَد‌ٍ‌ مَيِّت‌‍ٍ‌ فَأَحْيَيْنَا‌ بِهِ ‌الأَ‌رْ‍‍ضَ بَعْدَ‌ مَوْتِهَا‌ ۚ كَذَلِكَ ‌ال‍‍نّ‍‍ُ‍ش‍‍ُ‍و‌رُ‌
Man Kāna Yurīdu Al-`Izzata Falillāhi Al-`Izzatu Jamī`āan ۚ 'Ilayhi Yaş`adu Al-Kalimu Aţ-Ţayyibu Wa Al-`Amalu Aş-Şāliĥu Yarfa`uhu Wa ۚ Al-Ladhīna Yamkurūna As-Sayyi'āti Lahum `Adhābun Shadīdun ۖ Wa Makru 'Ūlā'ika Huwa Yabūru    035-010* For anyone who has been wanting glory, God holds all glory: towards Him do wholesome words ascend while honorable action He exalts. Those who plot evil deeds will have severe punishment while their very plotting will collapse. مَ‍‌‍نْ ك‍‍َ‍انَ يُ‍‍ر‍ِ‍ي‍‍دُ‌ ‌الْعِزَّةَ فَلِلَّهِ ‌الْعِزَّةُ جَمِيعا‌‌ ًۚ ‌إِلَيْهِ يَ‍‍صْ‍‍عَدُ‌ ‌الْكَلِمُ ‌ال‍‍‍‍طّ‍‍َيِّبُ ‌وَ‌الْعَمَلُ ‌ال‍‍‍‍صّ‍‍َالِحُ يَرْفَعُه ُۚ ‌وَ‌الَّذ‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ يَمْكُر‍ُ‍‌ونَ ‌ال‍‍سَّيِّئ‍‍َ‍اتِ لَهُمْ عَذ‍َ‍‌اب‌‍ٌ‌ شَد‍ِ‍ي‍‍د‌ٌۖ ‌وَمَكْرُ‌ ‌أ‍ُ‍‌وْل‍‍َ‍ائِكَ هُوَ‌ يَب‍‍ُ‍و‌رُ‌
Wa Allāhu Khalaqakum Min Turābin Thumma Min Nuţfatin Thumma Ja`alakum 'Azwājāan ۚ Wa Mā Taĥmilu Min 'Unthá Wa Lā Tađa`u 'Illā Bi`ilmihi ۚ Wa Mā Yu`ammaru Min Mu`ammarin Wa Lā Yunqaşu Min `Umurihi 'Illā Fī Kitābin ۚ 'Inna Dhālika `Alá Al-Lahi Yasīrun    035-011* God has created you from dust, then from a drop of semen; then He divided you into couples. No female conceives nor gives birth unless He knows it. No elderly person grows even older nor has anything shortened from his life unless it is [written down] in some book. That is easy for God [to do]! Fresh and Salt Water ("The Two Seas") وَ‌اللَّهُ خَ‍‍لَ‍‍قَ‍‍كُ‍‍مْ مِ‍‌‍نْ تُر‍َ‍‌اب‌‍ٍ‌ ثُ‍‍مَّ مِ‍‍نْ نُ‍‍‍‍ط‍‍‍‍ْ‍فَة‌‍ٍ‌ ثُ‍‍مَّ جَعَلَكُمْ ‌أَ‌زْ‌وَ‌اجا‌‌ ًۚ ‌وَمَا‌ تَحْمِلُ مِنْ ‌أُ‌ن‍‍ْ‍ثَى‌ ‌وَلاَ‌ تَ‍‍ضَ‍‍عُ ‌إِلاَّ‌ بِعِلْمِه ِ‍ِ‍‌ ۚ ‌وَمَا‌ يُعَ‍‍مّ‍‍َ‍رُ‌ مِ‍‍نْ مُعَ‍‍مّ‍‍َ‍ر‌ٍ‌ ‌وَلاَ‌ يُ‍‌‍ن‍‍ْ‍‍‍قَ‍‍‍‍صُ مِنْ عُمُ‍‍رِهِ ‌إِلاَّ‌ فِي كِت‍‍َ‍اب‌‍ٍۚ ‌إِنَّ ‌ذَلِكَ عَلَى‌ ‌ال‍‍لَّهِ يَس‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍ر‌‌ٌ
Wa Mā Yastawī Al-Baĥrāni Hādhā `Adhbun Furātun Sā'ighun Shabuhu Wa Hadhā Milĥun 'Ujājun ۖ Wa Min Kullin Ta'kulūna Laĥmāan Ţarīyāan Wa Tastakhrijūna Ĥilyatan Talbasūnahā ۖ Wa Tará Al-Fulka Fīhi Mawākhira Litabtaghū Min Fađlihi Wa La`allakum Tashkurūna    035-012* Both seas are not alike: this one is sweet, fresh, refreshing to drink, while the other is salty, briny. From each you cat fresh meat and extract jewelry you wear. You see ships sailing along on it so you may seek His bounty and so that you may feel thankful.
False Gods are Futile
وَمَا‌ يَسْتَوِي ‌الْبَحْر‍َ‍‌انِ هَذَ‌ا‌ عَذْب‌‍ٌ‌ فُر‍َ‍‌ات‌‍ٌ‌ س‍‍َ‍ائِ‍‍غ‍‍‌‍ٌ‌ شَ‍رَ‌ابُه ُ‌ ‌وَهَذَ‌ا‌ مِلْحٌ ‌أُج‍‍َ‍اجٌۖ ‌وَمِ‍‌‍نْ كُلّ‌‍ٍ‌ تَأْكُل‍‍ُ‍ونَ لَحْما‌‌ ًطَ‍‍‍‍رِيّا‌‌ ً‌ ‌وَتَسْتَ‍‍خْ‍‍‍‍رِج‍‍ُ‍ونَ حِلْيَة‌ ً‌ تَلْبَسُونَهَا‌ ۖ ‌وَتَ‍رَ‌ى‌ ‌الْفُلْكَ ف‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍ه ِ‍ِ‍‌ مَوَ‌اخِ‍‍‍‍ر‍َ‍‌ لِتَ‍‍ب‍‍ْ‍تَ‍‍غُ‍‍و‌ا‌ مِ‍‌‍نْ فَ‍‍ضْ‍‍لِه ِ‍ِ‍‌ ‌وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُر‍ُ‍‌ونَ
Yūliju Al-Layla Fī An-Nahāri Wa Yūliju An-Nahāra Al-Layli Wa Sakhkhara Ash-Shamsa Wa Al-Qamara Kullun Yajrī Li'jalin Musammáan ۚ Dhalikumu Al-Lahu Rabbukum Lahu Al-Mulku Wa ۚ Al-Ladhīna Tad`ūna Min Dūnihi Mā Yamlikūna Min Qiţmīrin    035-013* He wraps night up into daytime and wraps daytime up in night, and regulates the sun and moon; each runs along on a stated course. Such is God, your Lord! Control belongs to Him; while the ones whom you appeal to instead of Him do not control a wisp. يُولِجُ ‌ال‍‍لَّيْلَ فِي ‌ال‍‍نّ‍‍َ‍ه‍‍َ‍ا‌ر‍ِ‍‌ ‌وَيُولِجُ ‌ال‍‍نّ‍‍َ‍ه‍‍َ‍ا‌‍رَ‌ فِي ‌ال‍‍لَّيْلِ ‌وَسَ‍‍خّ‍‍َ‍رَ‌ال‍‍شَّمْسَ ‌وَ‌الْ‍‍قَ‍‍مَ‍رَ‌ كُلٌّ‌ يَ‍‍ج‍‍ْ‍‍رِي لِأجَلٍ‌ مُسَ‍‍مّ‍‍ى‌‌ ًۚ ‌ذَلِكُمُ ‌ال‍‍لَّهُ ‌‍رَبُّكُمْ لَهُ ‌الْمُلْكُ ۚ ‌وَ‌الَّذ‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ تَ‍‍دْع‍‍ُ‍ونَ مِ‍‌‍نْ ‌دُ‌ونِه ِ‍ِ‍‌ مَا‌ يَمْلِك‍‍ُ‍ونَ مِ‍‌‍نْ قِ‍‍‍‍‍‍ط‍‍‍‍ْ‍م‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍ر‌‌ٍ
'In Tad`ūhum Lā Yasma`ū Du`ā'akum Wa Law Sami`ū Mā Astajābū Lakum ۖ Wa Yawma Al-Qiyāmati Yakfurūna Bishirkikum ۚ Wa Lā Yunabbi'uka Mithlu Khabīrin    035-014* If you should appeal to them, they will not hear your appeal; while even though they heard it, they would not respond to you. On Resurrection Day they will disown your associating [them with God]. No one notifies you in the way that someone Who is Informed does.
Intercession is Void (III)
إِ‌نْ تَ‍‍دْعُوهُمْ لاَ‌ يَسْمَعُو‌ا‌ ‌دُع‍‍َ‍ا‌ءَكُمْ ‌وَلَوْ‌ سَمِعُو‌ا‌ مَا‌ ‌اسْتَجَابُو‌ا‌ لَكُمْ ۖ ‌وَيَوْمَ ‌الْ‍‍قِ‍‍يَامَةِ يَكْفُر‍ُ‍‌ونَ بِشِرْكِكُمْ ۚ ‌وَلاَ‌ يُنَبِّئُكَ مِثْلُ خَ‍‍ب‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍ر‌‌ٍ
Yā 'Ayyuhā An-Nāsu 'Antumu Al-Fuqarā'u 'Ilá Al-Lahi Wa ۖ Allāhu Huwa Al-Ghanīyu Al-Ĥamīdu    035-015* Mankind, you are so poor as far as God is concerned, while God is Transcendent, Praiseworthy. ي‍‍َ‍ا‌أَيُّهَا‌ ‌ال‍‍نّ‍‍َ‍اسُ ‌أَ‌ن‍‍ْ‍تُمُ ‌الْفُ‍‍قَ‍‍ر‍َ‍‌ا‌ءُ‌ ‌إِلَى‌ ‌ال‍‍لَّهِ ‌وَ‌ال‍‍لَّهُ ۖ هُوَ‌ ‌الْ‍‍غَ‍‍نِيُّ ‌الْحَم‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍د‍ُ‍‌
'In Yasha' Yudh/hibkum Wa Ya'ti Bikhalqin Jadīdin    035-016* If He so wished, He could take you away and bring some fresh creation; إِنْ يَشَأْ‌ يُذْهِ‍‍ب‍‍ْ‍كُمْ ‌وَيَأْتِ بِ‍‍خَ‍‍لْ‍‍ق ‍ٍ‌ جَد‍ِ‍ي‍‍د ‌ٍ
Wa Mā Dhālika `Alá Al-Lahi Bi`azīzin    035-017* that would not be impossible for God to do. وَمَا‌ ‌ذَلِكَ عَلَى‌ ‌ال‍‍لَّهِ بِعَز‍ِ‍ي‍‍ز ‌ٍ
Wa Lā Taziru Wāziratun Wizra 'Ukhۚ Wa 'In Tad`u Muthqalatun 'Ilá Ĥimlihā Lā Yuĥmal Minhu Shay'un Wa Law Kāna Dhā Qurbá ۗ 'Innamā Tundhiru Al-Ladhīna Yakhshawna Rabbahum Bil-Ghaybi Wa 'Aqāmū Aş-Şalāata ۚ Wa Man Tazakká Fa'innamā Yatazakká Linafsihi ۚ Wa 'Ilá Al-Lahi Al-Maşīru    035-018* No burdened [soul] may bear another's burden: if some overladen soul should call out for someone else to carry his load, no one would bear any part of it even though he were a near relative. You can only warn those who dread their Lord although [He is] Unseen, and keep up prayer. Anyone who purifies himself, only purifies his own soul. Towards God should lie one's goal.
Dualities
وَلاَ‌ تَزِ‌ر‍ُ‍‌ ‌وَ‌ا‌زِ‌‍رَةٌ‌ ‌وِ‌زْ‌‍رَ‌ ‌أُ‍‍خْ‍‍‍رَ‌ى‌ ۚ ‌وَ‌إِ‌نْ تَ‍‍دْعُ مُثْ‍‍قَ‍‍لَة‌‍ٌ‌ ‌إِلَى‌ حِمْلِهَا‌ لاَ‌ يُحْمَلْ مِنْهُ شَيْء‌ٌ‌ ‌وَلَوْ‌ ك‍‍َ‍انَ ‌ذَ‌ا‌ قُ‍‍رْبَ‍‍ىۗ ‌إِنّ‍‍َ‍مَا‌ تُ‍‌‍ن‍‍ْ‍ذِ‌ر‍ُ‍‌ ‌الَّذ‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ يَ‍‍خْ‍‍شَوْنَ ‌‍رَبَّهُ‍‍مْ بِ‍ال‍‍غَ‍‍يْبِ ‌وَ‌أَ‍‍قَ‍‍امُو‌ا‌ال‍‍‍‍صّ‍‍َلاَةَ ۚ ‌وَمَ‍‌‍نْ تَزَكَّى‌ فَإِنّ‍‍َ‍مَا‌ يَتَزَكَّى‌ لِنَفْسِه ِ‍ِ‍‌ ۚ ‌وَ‌إِلَى‌ ‌ال‍‍لَّهِ ‌الْمَ‍‍ص‍‍‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍ر‍ُ‍‌
Wa Mā Yastawī Al-'A`má Wa Al-Başīru    035-019* The blind and the sighted are not equal, وَمَا‌ يَسْتَوِي ‌الأَعْمَى‌ ‌وَ‌الْبَ‍‍ص‍‍‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍ر‍ُ‍‌
Wa Lā Až-Žulumātu Wa Lā An-Nūr    035-020* nor are darkness and light, وَلاَ‌ ‌ال‍‍‍‍ظّ‍‍ُلُم‍‍َ‍اتُ ‌وَلاَ‌ ‌ال‍‍نّ‍‍ُ‍و‌ر‌
Wa Lā Až-Žillu Wa Lā Al-Ĥarūru    035-021* nor a shady nook and a heatwave. وَلاَ‌ ‌ال‍‍‍‍ظّ‍‍ِلُّ ‌وَلاَ‌ ‌الْحَر‍ُ‍‌و‌رُ‌
Wa Mā Yastawī Al-'Aĥyā'u Wa Lā Al-'Amwātu ۚ 'Inna Al-Laha Yusmi`u Man Yashā'u ۖ Wa Mā 'Anta Bimusmi`in Man Al-Qubūri    035-022* The living and the dead are not alike. God lets anyone He wishes listen, while you will not make those in their graves hear. وَمَا‌ يَسْتَوِي ‌الأَحْي‍‍َ‍ا‌ءُ‌ ‌وَلاَ‌ ‌الأَمْو‍َ‍‌اتُ ۚ ‌إِنَّ ‌ال‍‍لَّهَ يُسْمِعُ مَ‍‍نْ يَش‍‍َ‍ا‌ءُ‌ ۖ ‌وَمَ‍‍ا‌ ‌أَ‌ن‍‍ْ‍تَ بِمُسْمِعٍ‌ مَ‍‌‍نْ فِي ‌الْ‍‍قُ‍‍ب‍‍ُ‍و‌ر‍ِ‍‌
'In 'Anta 'Illā Nadhīrun    035-023* You are nothing but a warner; إِنْ ‌أَن‍‍ْ‍تَ ‌إِلاَّ‌ نَذ‍ِ‍ي‍‍ر ‌ٌ
'Innā 'Arsalnāka Bil-Ĥaqqi Bashīan Wa Nadhīan ۚ Wa 'In Min 'Ummatin 'Illā Khalā Fīhā Nadhīrun    035-024*We have sent you as an announcer and a warner about the Truth. No nation exists unless some warner has passed among them. إِنّ‍‍َ‍‍ا‌ ‌أَ‌رْسَلْن‍‍َ‍اكَ بِ‍الْحَ‍‍قّ‍‍ِ بَشِير‌ا‌‌ ً‌ ‌وَنَذِير‌ا‌‌ ًۚ ‌وَ‌إِنْ مِنْ ‌أُمّ‍‍َ‍ة‌‍ٍ‌ ‌إِلاَّ‌ خَ‍‍لاَ‌ فِيهَا‌ نَذ‍ِ‍ي‍‍ر‌‌ٌ
Wa 'In Yukadhdhibūka Faqad Kadhdhaba Al-Ladhīna Min Qablihim Jā'at/hum Rusuluhum Bil-Bayyināti Wa Biz-Zuburi Wa Bil-Kitābi Al-Munīri    035-025*Yet if they should reject you, well the ones before them rejected [their messengers too]; their messengers brought them explanations, the Psalms, and an enlightening Book. وَ‌إِنْ يُكَذِّب‍‍ُ‍وكَ فَ‍‍قَ‍‍‍‍دْ‌ كَذَّبَ ‌الَّذ‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ مِ‍‍نْ قَ‍‍‍‍ب‍‍ْ‍لِهِمْ ج‍‍َ‍ا‌ءَتْهُمْ ‌رُسُلُهُ‍‍مْ بِ‍الْبَيِّن‍‍َ‍اتِ ‌وَبِالزُّبُ‍‍ر‍ِ‍‌ ‌وَبِالْكِت‍‍َ‍ابِ ‌الْمُن‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍رِ‌
Thumma 'Akhadhtu Al-Ladhīna Kafarū ۖ Fakayfa Kāna Nakīri    035-026* Then I seized the ones who disbelieved. How great was My displeasure!

ثُ‍‍مَّ ‌أَ‍‍خَ‍‍ذْتُ ‌الَّذ‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ كَفَرُ‌و‌اۖ فَكَيْفَ ك‍‍َ‍انَ نَك‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍رِ‌
'Alam Tará 'Anna Al-Laha 'Anzala Mina As-Samā'i Mā'an Fa'akhrajnā Bihi Thamarātin Mukhtalifāan 'Alwānuhā ۚ Wa Mina Al-Jibāli Judadun Bīđun Wa Ĥumrun Mukhtalifun 'Alwānuhā Wa Ghabību Sūdun    035-027* Have you not seen how God sends water down from the sky? We produce different colored fruits with it. From the mountains come white and red marbling in different shades as well as black obsidian. أَلَمْ تَ‍رَ‌ى‌ ‌أَنَّ ‌ال‍‍لَّهَ ‌أَ‌ن‍‍ْ‍زَلَ مِنَ ‌ال‍‍سَّم‍‍َ‍ا‌ءِ‌ م‍‍َ‍ا‌ء‌‌ ً‌ فَأَ‍‍خْ‍‍‍رَج‍‍ْ‍نَا‌ بِه ِ‍ِ‍‌ ثَمَر‍َ‍‌اتٍ‌ مُ‍‍خْ‍‍تَلِفا‌‌ ً‌ ‌أَلْوَ‌انُهَا‌ ۚ ‌وَمِنَ ‌الْجِب‍‍َ‍الِ جُدَ‌د‌ٌ‌ ب‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍‍‍ض‍ٌ‌ ‌وَحُمْر‌ٌ‌ مُ‍‍خْ‍‍تَلِفٌ ‌أَلْوَ‌انُهَا‌ ‌وَ‍‍غَ‍‍‍رَ‌اب‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍بُ س‍‍ُ‍و‌د‌ٌ
Wa Mina An-Nāsi Wa Ad-Dawābbi Wa Al-'An`ām Mukhtalifun 'Alwānuhu Kadhālika ۗ 'Innamā Yakhshá Al-Laha Min `Ibādihi Al-`Ulamā'u ۗ 'Inna Al-Laha `Azīzun Ghafūrun    035-028* Some men, wild beasts and livestock are of different colors as well. Yet only His learned servants dread God [Alone], even though God is Powerful, Forgiving. وَمِنَ ‌ال‍‍نّ‍‍َ‍اسِ ‌وَ‌ال‍‍دَّ‌و‍َ‍‌ابِّ ‌وَ‌الأَنعَام مُ‍‍خْ‍‍تَلِفٌ ‌أَلْوَ‌انُه ُ‌ كَذَلِكَ ۗ ‌إِنّ‍‍َ‍مَا‌ يَ‍‍خْ‍‍شَى‌ ‌ال‍‍لَّهَ مِنْ عِبَا‌دِهِ ‌الْعُلَم‍‍َ‍ا‌ءُ‌ ۗ ‌إِنَّ ‌ال‍‍لَّهَ عَز‍ِ‍ي‍‍زٌ‌ غَ‍‍ف‍‍ُ‍و‌ر‌‌ٌ
'Inna Al-Ladhīna Yatlūna Kitāba Al-Lahi Wa 'Aqāmū Aş-Şalāata Wa 'Anfaqū Mimmā Razaqnāhum Siran Wa `Alāniyatan Yarjūna Tijāratan Lan Tabūra    035-029* The ones who recite God's book, keep up prayer and spend something both secretly and publicly from whatever He has provided for them, can hope for a business which will never slacken, إِنَّ ‌الَّذ‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ يَتْل‍‍ُ‍ونَ كِت‍‍َ‍ابَ ‌ال‍‍لَّهِ ‌وَ‌أَ‍‍قَ‍‍امُو‌ا‌ال‍‍‍‍صّ‍‍َلاَةَ ‌وَ‌أَن‍‍ْ‍فَ‍‍قُ‍‍و‌ا‌ مِ‍‍مّ‍‍َ‍ا‌ ‌‍رَ‌زَ‍ق‍‍‍‍ْ‍نَاهُمْ سِرّ‌ا ‌ ً‌ ‌وَعَلاَنِيَة ً‌ يَرْج‍‍ُ‍ونَ تِجَا‌‍رَة ً‌ لَ‍‍نْ تَب‍‍ُ‍و‌‍رَ
Liyuwaffiyahum 'Ujūrahum Wa Yazīdahum Min Fađlihi ۚ 'Innahu Ghafūrun Shakūrun    035-030* so He may repay them their earnings and grant them even more out of His bounty. He is Forgiving, Appreciative. لِيُوَفِّيَهُمْ ‌أُجُو‌‍رَهُمْ ‌وَيَزِيدَهُ‍‍مْ مِ‍‌‍نْ فَ‍‍ضْ‍‍لِهِ ۚ ‌إِنّ‍‍َ‍ه ُغَ‍‍ف‍‍ُ‍و‌ر‌‌ٌ‌ شَك‍‍ُ‍و‌ر‌‌ٌ
Wa Al-Ladhī 'Awĥaynā 'Ilayka Mina Al-Kitābi Huwa Al-Ĥaqqu Muşaddiqāan Limā Bayna Yadayhi ۗ 'Inna Al-Laha Bi`ibādihi Lakhabīrun Başīrun    035-031* What We have revealed to you from the Book is the Truth confirming what has preceded it. God is Informed, Observant concerning His servants. وَ‌الَّذِي ‌أَ‌وْحَيْنَ‍‍ا‌ ‌إِلَيْكَ مِنَ ‌الْكِت‍‍َ‍ابِ هُوَ‌ ‌الْحَ‍‍قّ‍‍ُ مُ‍‍صَ‍‍دِّ‍‍ق‍‍ا‌‌ ً‌ لِمَا‌ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ ۗ ‌إِنَّ ‌ال‍‍لَّهَ بِعِبَا‌دِه ِ‍ِ‍‌ لَ‍‍خَ‍‍ب‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍ر‌ٌ‌ بَ‍‍ص‍‍‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍ر‌‌ٌ
Thumma 'Awrath Al-Kitāba Al-Ladhīna Aşţafaynā Min `Ibādinā ۖ Faminhum Žālimun Linafsihi Wa Minhum Muqtaşidun Wa Minhum Sābiqun Bil-Khayrāti Bi'idhni Al-Lahi ۚ Dhālika Huwa Al-Fađlu Al-Kabīru    035-032* Then We allow some of Our servants whom We have singled out to inherit the Book. One of them may harm his own soul while another is lukewarm, and still another vies in performing good deeds with God's permission.
Paradise It [will mean] great bounty:
ثُ‍‍مَّ ‌أَ‌وْ‌‍رَثْنَا‌ ‌الْكِت‍‍َ‍ابَ ‌الَّذ‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ ‌ا‍صْ‍‍‍‍طَ‍‍فَيْنَا‌ مِنْ عِبَا‌دِنَا‌ ۖ فَمِنْهُمْ ظَ‍‍ال‍‍ِ‍م ٌ‌ لِنَفْسِه ِ‍ِ‍‌ ‌وَمِنْهُ‍‍مْ مُ‍‍‍‍ق‍‍‍‍ْ‍تَ‍‍صِ‍‍د‌ٌ‌ ‌وَمِنْهُمْ سَابِ‍‍ق‍‍‌‍ٌ‌ بِ‍الْ‍‍خَ‍‍يْر‍َ‍‌اتِ بِإِ‌ذْنِ ‌ال‍‍لَّهِ ۚ ‌ذَلِكَ هُوَ‌ ‌الْفَ‍‍ضْ‍‍لُ ‌الْكَب‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍ر‍ُ‍‌
Jannātu `Adnin Yadkhulūnahā Yuĥallawna Fīhā Min 'Asāwira Min Dhahabin Wa Lu'ulu'uāan ۖ Wa Libāsuhum Fīhā Ĥarīrun    035-033* gardens of Eden will they enter. They will be allowed to wear gold and pearl bracelets there while their clothing will be [made of] silk. جَ‍‍نّ‍‍َ‍اتُ عَ‍‍دْنٍ‌ يَ‍‍دْ‍‍خُ‍‍لُونَهَا‌ يُحَلَّوْنَ فِيهَا‌ مِنْ ‌أَسَا‌وِ‌ر‍َ‍‌ مِ‍‌‍نْ ‌ذَهَبٍ‌ ‌وَلُؤْلُؤ‌ا‌‌ ًۖ ‌وَلِبَاسُهُمْ فِيهَا‌ حَ‍‍ر‍ِ‍ي‍‍ر‌‌ٌ
Wa Qālū Al-Ĥamdu Lillahi Al-Ladhī 'Adh/haba `Annā Al-Ĥazana ۖ 'Inna Rabbanā Laghafūrun Shakūrun    035-034* They will say: "Praise be to God Who has lifted sadness from us! Our Lord is Forgiving, Appreciative, وَ‍‍قَ‍‍الُو‌ا‌الْحَمْدُ‌ لِلَّهِ ‌الَّذِي ‌أَ‌ذْهَبَ عَ‍‍نّ‍‍َ‍ا‌ ‌الْحَزَنَ ۖ ‌إِنَّ ‌‍رَبَّنَا‌ لَ‍‍غَ‍‍ف‍‍ُ‍و‌ر‌‌ٌ‌ شَك‍‍ُ‍و‌ر‌‌ٌ
Al-Ladhī 'Aĥallanā Dāra Al-Muqāmati Min Fađlihi Lā Yamassunā Fīhā Naşabun Wa Lā Yamassunā Fīhā Lughūbun    035-035* the One Who has settled us in the Everlasting Home because of His bounty. No toil will ever touch us there nor will any weariness affect us in it."
Disbelievers in Hell
الَّذِي ‌أَحَلَّنَا‌ ‌د‍َ‍‌ا‌‍رَ‌الْمُ‍‍قَ‍‍امَةِ مِ‍‍نْ فَ‍‍ضْ‍‍لِهِ لاَ‌ يَمَسُّنَا‌ فِيهَا‌ نَ‍‍صَ‍‍بٌ‌ ‌وَلاَ‌ يَمَسُّنَا‌ فِيهَا‌ لُ‍‍غ‍‍‍‍ُ‍وب‍‍ٌ
Wa Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Lahum Nāru Jahannama Lā Yuqđá `Alayhim Fayamūtū Wa Lā Yukhaffafu `Anhum Min `Adhābihā ۚ Kadhālika Najzī Kulla Kafūrin    035-036* The ones who disbelieved will have Hell fire. It will be neither finished off for them so that they may [really] die; nor will its torment be lightened for them. Thus We reward every ingrate. وَ‌الَّذ‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ كَفَرُ‌و‌ا‌ لَهُمْ ن‍‍َ‍ا‌رُ‌ جَهَ‍‍نّ‍‍َ‍مَ لاَ‌ يُ‍‍‍‍ق‍‍‍‍ْ‍‍‍ضَ‍‍ى‌ عَلَيْهِمْ فَيَمُوتُو‌ا‌ ‌وَلاَ‌ يُ‍‍خَ‍‍فَّفُ عَنْهُ‍‍مْ مِنْ عَذَ‌ابِهَا‌ ۚ كَذَلِكَ نَ‍‍ج‍‍ْ‍زِي كُلَّ كَف‍‍ُ‍و‌ر‌‌ٍ
Wa Hum Yaşţarikhūna Fīhā Rabbanā 'Akhrijnā Na`mal Şāliĥāan Ghayra Al-Ladhī Kunnā Na`malu ۚ 'Awalam Nu`ammirkum Mā Yatadhakkaru Fīhi Man Tadhakkara Wa Jā'akumu An-Nadhīru ۖ Fadhūqū Famā Lilžžālimīna Min Naşīr    035-037* They will scream away in it: "Our Lord, take us out! We'll act honorably, so differently from the way we have been acting!" Did We not let you live on and on so anyone who bears things in mind might remember (them) during its course? The Warner came to you. So have a taste! Wrongdoers will have no supporter. (V) وَهُمْ يَ‍‍صْ‍‍‍‍طَ‍‍‍‍رِ‍‍خ‍‍‍‍ُ‍ونَ فِيهَا‌ ‌‍رَبَّنَ‍‍ا‌ ‌أَ‍‍خْ‍‍‍‍رِج‍‍ْ‍نَا‌ نَعْمَلْ صَ‍‍ال‍‍ِ‍حا‌‌ ًغَ‍‍يْ‍رَ‌الَّذِي كُ‍‍نّ‍‍َ‍ا‌ نَعْمَلُ ۚ ‌أَ‌وَلَمْ نُعَ‍‍مّ‍‍ِ‍رْكُ‍‍مْ مَا‌ يَتَذَكَّرُ‌ ف‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍ه ِ‍ِ‍‌ مَ‍‌‍نْ تَذَكَّ‍رَ‌ ‌وَج‍‍َ‍ا‌ءَكُمُ ‌ال‍‍نّ‍‍َ‍ذ‍ِ‍ي‍‍ر‍ُ‍‌ ۖ فَذُ‌وقُ‍‍و‌ا‌ فَمَا‌ لِل‍‍ظّ‍‍َالِم‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ مِ‍‍نْ نَ‍‍صِ‍‍ير‌
'Inna Al-Laha `Ālimu Ghaybi As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđi ۚ 'Innahu `Alīmun Bidhāti Aş-Şudūri    035-038* God is the One Who knows the Unseen in both Heaven and Earth. He is Aware of whatever is on your minds. إِنَّ ‌ال‍‍لَّهَ عَال‍‍ِ‍مُ غَ‍‍يْبِ ‌ال‍‍سَّمَا‌و‍َ‍‌اتِ ‌وَ‌الأَ‌رْ‍‍ضِ ۚ ‌إِنّ‍‍َ‍ه ُ‌ عَل‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍م‌‍ٌ‌ بِذ‍َ‍‌اتِ ‌ال‍‍‍‍صّ‍‍ُد‍ُ‍‌و‌ر‍ِ‍‌
Huwa Al-Ladhī Ja`alakum Khalā'ifa Fī Al-'Arđi ۚ Faman Kafara Fa`alayhi Kufruhu ۖ Wa Lā Yazīdu Al-Kāfirīna Kufruhum `Inda Rabbihim 'Illā Maqtāan ۖ Wa Lā Yazīdu Al-Kāfirīna Kufruhum 'Illā Khasāan    035-039* He is the One Who has set you up as [His] representatives on earth. Anyone who disbelieves is responsible for his own disbelief. Their disbelief merely increases disbelievers in loathing towards their Lord; their disbelief involves disbelievers in even greater loss.

هُوَ‌ ‌الَّذِي جَعَلَكُمْ خَ‍‍لاَئِفَ فِي ‌الأَ‌رْ‍‍ضِ ۚ فَمَ‍‌‍نْ كَفَ‍رَ‌ فَعَلَيْهِ كُفْرُه ُۖ ‌وَلاَ‌ يَز‍ِ‍ي‍‍دُ‌ ‌الْكَافِ‍‍ر‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ كُفْرُهُمْ عِ‍‌‍ن‍‍ْ‍دَ‌ ‌‍رَبِّهِمْ ‌إِلاَّ‌ مَ‍‍‍‍ق‍‍‍‍ْ‍تا‌‌ ًۖ ‌وَلاَ‌ يَز‍ِ‍ي‍‍دُ‌ ‌الْكَافِ‍‍ر‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ كُفْرُهُمْ ‌إِلاَّ‌ خَ‍‍سَا‌ر‌ا‌‌ ً
Qul 'Ara'aytum Shurakā'akumu Al-Ladhīna Tad`ūna Min Dūni Al-Lahi 'Arūnī Mādhā Khalaqū Mina Al-'Arđi 'Am Lahum Shirkun As-Samāwāti 'Am 'Ātaynāhum Kitābāan Fahum `Alá Bayyinatin Minhu ۚ Bal 'In Ya`idu Až-Žālimūna Ba`đuhum Ba`đāan 'Illā Ghurūan    035-040* SAY: "Have you ever seen your associates whom you appeal to instead of to God? Show me what part of earth they have created. Have they any partnership in Heaven? Or have We given them a book? Have they come upon any explanation from it? Rather wrongdoers merely promise one another delusion. قُ‍‍لْ ‌أَ‌‍رَ‌أَيْتُمْ شُ‍رَك‍‍َ‍ا‌ءَكُمُ ‌الَّذ‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ تَ‍‍دْع‍‍ُ‍ونَ مِ‍‌‍نْ ‌د‍ُ‍‌ونِ ‌ال‍‍لَّهِ ‌أَ‌رُ‌ونِي مَا‌ذَ‌ا‌ خَ‍‍لَ‍‍قُ‍‍و‌ا‌ مِنَ ‌الأَ‌رْ‍‍ضِ ‌أَمْ لَهُمْ شِرْك‌‍ٌ‌ فِي ‌ال‍‍سَّمَا‌و‍َ‍‌اتِ ‌أَمْ ‌آتَيْنَاهُمْ كِتَابا‌‌ ً‌ فَهُمْ عَلَى‌ بَيِّنَةٍ‌ مِنْهُ ۚ بَلْ ‌إِنْ يَعِدُ‌ ‌ال‍‍‍‍ظّ‍‍َالِم‍‍ُ‍ونَ بَعْ‍‍ضُ‍‍هُ‍‍مْ بَعْ‍‍ض‍‍ا‌‌ ً‌ ‌إِلاَّ‌ غُ‍‍رُ‌و‌ر‌ا‌‌ ً
'Inna Al-Laha Yumsiku As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđa 'An Tazūlā ۚ Wa La'in Zālatā 'In 'Amsakahumā Min 'Aĥadin Min Ba`dihi ۚ 'Innahu Kāna Ĥalīmāan Ghafūan    035-041* God grasps both Heaven and Earth lest either one should slip out of place. If either should slip out of place, no one else would hold on to them besides Him. God is Lenient, Forgiving. إِنَّ ‌ال‍‍لَّهَ يُمْسِكُ ‌ال‍‍سَّمَا‌و‍َ‍‌اتِ ‌وَ‌الأَ‌رْ‍‍ضَ ‌أَ‌نْ تَزُ‌ولاَ‌ ۚ ‌وَلَئِ‍‌‍نْ ‌زَ‌ال‍‍َ‍تَ‍‍ا‌ ‌إِنْ ‌أَمْسَكَهُمَا‌ مِنْ ‌أَحَد‌ٍ‌ مِ‍‍نْ بَعْدِهِ ۚ ‌إِنّ‍‍َ‍ه ُ‌ ك‍‍َ‍انَ حَلِيما‌‌ ًغَ‍‍فُو‌ر‌ا‌‌ ً
Wa 'Aqsamū Bil-Lahi Jahda 'Aymānihim La'in Jā'ahum Nadhīrun Layakūnunna 'Ahdá Min 'Iĥdá Al-'Umami ۖ Falammā Jā'ahum Nadhīrun Mā Zādahum 'Illā Nufūan    035-042* They have sworn before God by their most solemn oaths that if a warner should ever come to them, they would be better guided than any other nation. Yet whenever a warner has come to them, it only increased their aversion وَ‌أَ‍ق‍‍‍‍ْ‍سَمُو‌ا‌ بِ‍ال‍‍لَّهِ جَهْدَ‌ ‌أَيْمَانِهِمْ لَئِ‍‌‍نْ ج‍‍َ‍ا‌ءَهُمْ نَذ‍ِ‍ي‍‍ر‌ٌ‌ لَيَكُونُ‍‍نَّ ‌أَهْدَ‌ى‌ مِ‍‌‍نْ ‌إِحْدَ‌ى‌ ‌الأُمَمِ ۖ فَلَ‍‍مّ‍‍َ‍ا‌ ج‍‍َ‍ا‌ءَهُمْ نَذ‍ِ‍ي‍‍ر‌ٌ‌ مَا‌ ‌زَ‌ا‌دَهُمْ ‌إِلاَّ‌ نُفُو‌ر‌ا‌‌ ً
Astikbāan Al-'Arđi Wa Makra As-Sayyi'i ۚ Wa Lā Yaĥīqu Al-Makru As-Sayyi'u 'Illā Bi'ahlihi ۚ Fahal Yanžurūna 'Illā Sunnata Al-'Awwalīna ۚ Falan Tajida Lisunnati Al-Lahi Tabdīlāan ۖ Wa Lan Tajida Lisunnati Al-Lahi Taĥwīlāan    035-043* because of how proud they had acted on earth and plotted evil. Plotting evil engulfs the people who practise it.
Philosophy of History Are they only waiting for what happened to primitive people? Yet you will never find any change in God's practice, nor will you ever find any substitute for God's practice.
‍اسْتِكْبَا‌ر‌ا‌‌ ً‌ فِي ‌الأَ‌رْ‍‍ضِ ‌وَمَكْ‍رَ‌ال‍‍سَّيِّئِ ۚ ‌وَلاَ‌ يَح‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍‍‍قُ ‌الْمَكْرُ‌ ‌ال‍‍سَّيِّئُ ‌إِلاَّ‌ بِأَهْلِه ِ‍ِ‍‌ ۚ فَهَلْ يَ‍‌‍ن‍‍ْ‍‍‍ظُ‍‍ر‍ُ‍‌ونَ ‌إِلاَّ‌ سُ‍‍نّ‍‍َ‍ةَ ‌الأَ‌وَّل‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ ۚ فَلَ‍‌‍نْ تَجِدَ‌ لِسُ‍‍نّ‍‍َ‍ةِ ‌ال‍‍لَّهِ تَ‍‍ب‍‍ْ‍دِيلا‌ ًۖ ‌وَلَ‍‌‍نْ تَجِدَ‌ لِسُ‍‍نّ‍‍َ‍ةِ ‌ال‍‍لَّهِ تَحْوِيلا‌‌ ً
'Awalam Yasīrū Fī Al-'Arđi Fayanžurū Kayfa Kāna `Āqibatu Al-Ladhīna Min Qablihim Wa Kānū 'Ashadda Minhum Qūwatan ۚ Wa Mā Kāna Al-Lahu Liyu`jizahu Min Shay'in As-Samāwāti Wa Lā Fī Al-'Arđi ۚ 'Innahu Kāna `Alīmāan Qadīan    035-044* Have they not travelled around the earth and observed how the outcome went for those who preceded them? They were much stronger than they are. God will not be thwarted by anything in Heaven nor on Earth; He is Aware, Capable. أَ‌وَلَمْ يَسِيرُ‌و‌ا‌ فِي ‌الأَ‌رْ‍‍ضِ فَيَ‍‌‍ن‍‍ْ‍‍‍ظُ‍‍رُ‌و‌ا‌ كَيْفَ ك‍‍َ‍انَ عَاقِ‍‍بَةُ ‌الَّذ‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ مِ‍‌‍نْ قَ‍‍‍‍ب‍‍ْ‍لِهِمْ ‌وَكَانُ‍‍و‌ا‌ ‌أَشَدَّ‌ مِنْهُمْ قُ‍‍وَّة ًۚ ‌وَمَا‌ ك‍‍َ‍انَ ‌ال‍‍لَّهُ لِيُعْجِزَه ُ‌ مِ‍‌‍نْ شَيْء‌‌ٍ‌ فِي ‌ال‍‍سَّمَا‌و‍َ‍‌اتِ ‌وَلاَ‌ فِي ‌الأَ‌رْ‍‍ضِ ۚ ‌إِنّ‍‍َ‍ه ُ‌ ك‍‍َ‍انَ عَلِيما‌‌ ًقَ‍‍دِير‌ا‌‌ ً
Wa Law Yu'uākhidhu Al-Lahu An-Nāsa Bimā Kasabū Mā Taraka `Alá Žahrihā Min Dābbatin Wa Lakin Yu'uakhkhiruhum 'Ilá 'Ajalin Musammáan ۖ Fa'idhā Jā'a 'Ajaluhum Fa'inna Al-Laha Kāna Bi`ibādihi Başīan    035-045* If God should take mankind to task for whatever they have been earning, He would not leave any creature on its surface; but He puts them off for a specific period. Once their deadline comes, God will indeed be Observant of His servants. وَلَوْ‌ يُؤ‍َ‍‌اخِ‍‍ذُ‌ ‌ال‍‍لَّهُ ‌ال‍‍نّ‍‍َ‍اسَ بِمَا‌ كَسَبُو‌ا‌ مَا‌ تَ‍رَكَ عَلَى‌ ظَ‍‍هْ‍‍رِهَا‌ مِ‍‌‍نْ ‌د‍َ‍‌ابَّةٍ‌ ‌وَلَكِ‍‍نْ يُؤَ‍‍خّ‍‍ِرُهُمْ ‌إِلَ‍‍ى‌ ‌أَجَلٍ‌ مُسَ‍‍مّ‍‍ى‌‌ ًۖ فَإِ‌ذَ‌ا‌ ج‍‍َ‍ا‌ءَ‌ ‌أَجَلُهُمْ فَإِنَّ ‌ال‍‍لَّهَ ك‍‍َ‍انَ بِعِبَا‌دِه ِ‍ِ‍‌ بَ‍‍صِ‍‍ير‌ا‌‌ ً
