Hal 'Atāka Ĥadīthu Al-Ghāshiyahi       |    
088-001. Has not there come to you the news of the overwhelming calamity? |    
هَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ الْغَاشِيَةِ  |  
 
   
Wujūhun Yawma'idhin Khāshi`ahun       |    
088-002. (Some) faces on that day shall be downcast, |    
وُجُوه ٌ ٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ خَاشِعَة ٌ  |  
 
   
`Āmilatun Nāşibahun       |    
088-003. Laboring, toiling, |    
عَامِلَة ٌ نَاصِبَة ٌ  |  
 
   
Taşlá Nārāan Ĥāmiyahan       |    
088-004. Entering into burning fire, |    
تَصْلَى نَاراً حَامِيَة ً  |  
 
   
Tusqá Min `Aynin 'Āniyahin       |    
088-005. Made to drink from a boiling spring. |    
تُسْقَى مِنْ عَيْن ٍ آنِيَة ٍ  |  
 
   
Laysa Lahum Ţa`āmun 'Illā Min Đarī`in       |    
088-006. They shall have no food but of thorns, |    
لَيْسَ لَهُمْ طَعَام ٌ إِلاَّ مِنْ ضَرِيع ٍ  |  
 
   
Lā Yusminu Wa Lā Yughnī Min Jū`in       |    
088-007. Which will neither fatten nor avail against hunger. |    
لاَ يُسْمِنُ وَلاَ يُغْنِي مِنْ جُوع ٍ  |  
 
   
Wujūhun Yawma'idhin Nā`imahun       |    
088-008. (Other) faces on that day shall be happy, |    
وُجُوه ٌ ٌ يَوْمَئِذ ٍ نَاعِمَة ٌ  |  
 
   
Lisa`yihā Rāđiyahun       |    
088-009. Well-pleased because of their striving, |    
لِسَعْيِهَا رَاضِيَة ٌ  |  
 
   
Fī Jannatin `Āliyahin       |    
088-010. In a lofty garden, |    
فِي جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَة ٍ  |  
 
   
Lā Tasma`u Fīhā Lāghiyahan       |    
088-011. Wherein you shall not hear vain talk. |    
لاَ تَسْمَعُ فِيهَا لاَغِيَة ً  |  
 
   
Fīhā `Aynun Jāriyahun       |    
088-012. Therein is a fountain flowing, |    
فِيهَا عَيْن ٌ جَارِيَة ٌ  |  
 
   
Fīhā Sururun Marfū`ahun       |    
088-013. Therein are thrones raised high, |    
فِيهَا سُرُر ٌ مَرْفُوعَة ٌ  |  
 
   
 Wa 'Akwābun Mawđū`ahun       |    
088-014. And drinking-cups ready placed, |    
وَأَكْوَاب ٌ مَوْضُوعَة ٌ  |  
 
   
 Wa Namāriqu Maşfūfahun       |    
088-015. And cushions set in a row, |    
وَنَمَارِقُ مَصْفُوفَة ٌ  |  
 
   
 Wa Zarābīyu Mabthūthahun       |    
088-016. And carpets spread out. |    
وَزَرَابِيُّ مَبْثُوثَة ٌ  |  
 
   
'Afalā Yanžurūna 'Ilá Al-'Ibili Kayfa Khuliqat       |    
088-017. Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created? |    
أَفَلاَ يَنْظُرُونَ إِلَى الإِبِلِ كَيْفَ خُلِقَتْ  |  
 
   
 Wa 'Ilá As-Samā'i Kayfa Rufi`at       |    
088-018. And the heaven, how it is reared aloft, |    
وَإِلَى السَّمَاءِ كَيْفَ رُفِعَتْ  |  
 
   
 Wa 'Ilá Al-Jibāli Kayfa Nuşibat       |    
088-019. And the mountains, how they are firmly fixed, |    
وَإِلَى الْجِبَالِ كَيْفَ نُصِبَتْ  |  
 
   
 Wa 'Ilá Al-'Arđi Kayfa Suţiĥat       |    
088-020. And the earth, how it is made a vast expanse? |    
وَإِلَى الأَرْضِ كَيْفَ سُطِحَتْ  |  
 
   
Fadhakkir 'Innamā 'Anta Mudhakkirun       |    
088-021. Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder. |    
فَذَكِّرْ إِنَّمَا أَنْتَ مُذَكِّر ٌ  |  
 
   
Lasta `Alayhim Bimusayţirin       |    
088-022. You are not a watcher over them; |    
لَسْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ بِمُسَيْطِر ٍ  |  
 
   
'Illā Man Tawallá Wa Kafara       |    
088-023. But whoever turns back and disbelieves, |    
إِلاَّ مَنْ تَوَلَّى وَكَفَرَ  |  
 
   
Fayu`adhdhibuhu Allāhu Al-`Adhāba Al-'Akbara       |    
088-024. Allah will chastise him with the greatest chastisement. |    
فَيُعَذِّبُهُ اللَّهُ الْعَذَابَ الأَكْبَرَ  |  
 
   
'Inna 'Ilaynā 'Īābahum       |    
088-025. Surely to Us is their turning back, |    
إِنَّ إِلَيْنَا إِيَابَهُمْ  |  
 
   
Thumma 'Inna `Alaynā Ĥisābahum       |    
088-026. Then surely upon Us is the taking of their account.  |    
ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا حِسَابَهُمْ  |
