Aqtarabati As-Sā`atu Wa Anshaqqa Al-Qamaru | 054-001. The hour drew nigh and the moon did rend asunder. | اقْتَرَبَتِ السَّاعَةُ وَانْشَقَّ الْقَمَرُ |
Wa 'In Yaraw 'Āyatan Yu`riđū Wa Yaqūlū Siĥrun Mustamirrun | 054-002. And if they see a miracle they turn aside and say: Transient magic. | وَإِنْ يَرَوْا آيَة ً يُعْرِضُوا وَيَقُولُوا سِحْرٌ مُسْتَمِرّ ٌ |
Wa Kadhdhabū Wa Attaba`ū 'Ahwā'ahum ۚ Wa Kullu 'Amrin Mustaqirrun | 054-003. And they call (it) a lie, and follow their low desires; and every affair has its appointed term. | وَكَذَّبُوا وَاتَّبَعُوا أَهْوَاءَهُمْ ۚ وَكُلُّ أَمْرٍ مُسْتَقِرٌّ |
Wa Laqad Jā'ahum Mina Al-'Anbā'i Mā Fīhi Muzdajarun | 054-004. And certainly some narratives have come to them wherein is prevention-- | وَلَقَدْ جَاءَهُمْ مِنَ الأَنْبَاءِ مَا فِيه ِِ مُزْدَجَر ٌ |
Ĥikmatun Bālighatun ۖ Famā Tughni An-Nudhuru | 054-005. Consummate wisdom-- but warnings do not avail; | حِكْمَةٌ بَالِغَةٌ ۖ فَمَا تُغْنِ النُّذُرُ |
Fatawalla `Anhum ۘ Yawma Yad`u Ad-Dā`i 'Ilá Shay'in Nukurin | 054-006. So turn (your) back on them (for) the day when the inviter shall invite them to a hard task, | فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ ۘ يَوْمَ يَدْعُ الدَّاعِ إِلَى شَيْءٍ نُكُرٍ |
Khushsha`āan 'Abşāruhum Yakhrujūna Mina Al-'Ajdāthi Ka'annahum Jarādun Muntashirun | 054-007. Their eyes cast down, going forth from their graves as if they were scattered locusts, | خُشَّعا ً أَبْصَارُهُمْ يَخْرُجُونَ مِنَ الأَجْدَاثِ كَأَنَّهُمْ جَرَادٌ مُنتَشِر ٌ |
Muhţi`īna 'Ilá Ad-Dā`i ۖ Yaqūlu Al-Kāfirūna Hādhā Yawmun `Asirun | 054-008. Hastening to the inviter. The unbelievers shall say: This is a hard day. | مُهْطِعِينَ إِلَى الدَّاعِ ۖ يَقُولُ الْكَافِرُونَ هَذَا يَوْمٌ عَسِرٌ |
Kadhdhabat Qablahum Qawmu Nūĥin Fakadhdhabū `Abdanā Wa Qālū Majnūnun Wa Azdujira | 054-009. Before them the people of Nuh rejected, so they rejected Our servant and called (him) mad, and he was driven away. | كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوح ٍ فَكَذَّبُوا عَبْدَنَا وَقَالُوا مَجْنُونٌ وَازْدُجِرَ |
Fada`ā Rabbahu 'Annī Maghlūbun Fāntaşir | 054-010. Therefore he called upon his Lord: I am overcome, come Thou then to help. | فَدَعَا رَبَّهُ~ُ أَنِّي مَغْلُوب ٌ فَا نْتَصِرْ |
Fafataĥnā 'Abwāba As-Samā'i Bimā'in Munhamirin | 054-011. So We opened the gates of the cloud with water pouring | فَفَتَحْنَا أَبْوَابَ السَّمَاءِ بِمَاءٍ مُنْهَمِر ٍ |
Wa Fajjarnā Al-'Arđa `Uyūnāan Fāltaqá Al-Mā'u `Alá 'Amrin Qad Qudira | 054-012. And We made water to flow forth in the land in springs, so the water gathered together according to a measure already ordained. | وَفَجَّرْنَا الأَرْضَ عُيُونا ً فَالْتَقَى الْمَاءُ عَلَى أَمْر ٍ قَدْ قُدِرَ |
Wa Ĥamalnāhu `Alá Dhāti 'Alwāĥin Wa Dusurin | 054-013. And We bore him on that which was made of planks and nails | وَحَمَلْنَاه ُ عَلَى ذَاتِ أَلْوَاحٍ وَدُسُر ٍ |
Tajrī Bi'a`yuninā Jazā'an Liman Kāna Kufira | 054-014. Sailing, before Our eyes, a reward for him who was denied. | تَجْرِي بِأَعْيُنِنَا جَزَاء ً لِمَنْ كَانَ كُفِرَ |
Wa Laqad Taraknāhā 'Āyatan Fahal Min Muddakirin | 054-015. And certainly We left it as a sign, but is there anyone who | وَلَقَدْ تَرَكْنَاهَا آيَة ً فَهَلْ مِنْ مُدَّكِر ٍ |
Fakayfa Kāna `Adhābī Wa Nudhuri | 054-016. How (great) was then My punishment and My warning! | فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ |
Wa Laqad Yassarnā Al-Qur'āna Lildhdhikri Fahal Min Muddakirin | 054-017. And certainly We have made the Quran easy for remembrance, but is there anyone who will mind? | وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِنْ مُدَّكِر ٍ |
Kadhdhabat `Ādun Fakayfa Kāna `Adhābī Wa Nudhuri | 054-018. Ad treated (the truth) as a lie, so how (great) was My punishment and My warning! | كَذَّبَتْ عَاد ٌ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ |
'Innā 'Arsalnā `Alayhim Rīĥāan Şarşarāan Fī Yawmi Naĥsin Mustamirrin | 054-019. Surely We sent on them a tornado in a day of bitter ill-luck | إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِيحا ً صَرْصَرا ً فِي يَوْمِ نَحْسٍ مُسْتَمِرّ ٍ |
Tanzi`u An-Nāsa Ka'annahum 'A`jāzu Nakhlin Munqa`irin | 054-020. Tearing men away as if they were the trunks of palm-trees torn up. | تَنزِعُ النَّاسَ كَأَنَّهُمْ أَعْجَازُ نَخْلٍ مُنْقَعِر ٍ |
Fakayfa Kāna `Adhābī Wa Nudhuri | 054-021. How (great) was then My punishment and My warning! | فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ |
Wa Laqad Yassarnā Al-Qur'āna Lildhdhikri Fahal Min Muddakirin | 054-022. And certainly We have made the Quran easy for remembrance, but is there anyone who will mind? | وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِنْ مُدَّكِر ٍ |
Kadhdhabat Thamūdu Bin-Nudhuri | 054-023. Samood rejected the warning. | كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ بِالنُّذُرِ |
Faqālū 'Abasharāan Minnā Wāĥidāan Nattabi`uhu 'Innā 'Idhāan Lafī Đalālin Wa Su`urin | 054-024. So they said: What! a single mortal from among us! Shall we follow him? Most surely we shall in that case be in sure error and distress: | فَقَالُوا أَبَشَرا ً مِنَّا وَاحِدا ً نَتَّبِعُهُ~ُ إِنَّا إِذا ً لَفِي ضَلاَلٍ وَسُعُر ٍ |
'A'uulqiya Adh-Dhikru `Alayhi Min Bayninā Bal Huwa Kadhdhābun 'Ashirun | 054-025. Has the reminder been made to light upon him from among us? Nay! he is an insolent liar! | أَؤُلْقِيَ الذِّكْرُ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ بَيْنِنَا بَلْ هُوَ كَذَّابٌ أَشِر ٌ |
Saya`lamūna Ghadāan Mani Al-Kadhdhābu Al-'Ashiru | 054-026. Tomorrow shall they know who is the liar, the insolent one. | سَيَعْلَمُونَ غَدا ً مَنِ الْكَذَّابُ الأَشِرُ |
'Innā Mursilū An-Nāqati Fitnatan Lahum Fārtaqibhum Wa Aşţabir | 054-027. Surely We are going to send the she-camel as a trial for them; therefore watch them and have patience. | إِنَّا مُرْسِلُو النَّاقَةِ فِتْنَة ً لَهُمْ فَارْتَقِبْهُمْ وَاصْطَبِرْ |
Wa Nabbi'hum 'Anna Al-Mā'a Qismatun Baynahum ۖ Kullu Shirbin Muĥtađarun | 054-028. And inform them that the water is shared between them; every share of the water shall be regulated. | وَنَبِّئْهُمْ أَنَّ الْمَاءَ قِسْمَةٌ بَيْنَهُمْ ۖ كُلُّ شِرْبٍ مُحْتَضَرٌ |
Fanādaw Şāĥibahum Fata`āţá Fa`aqara | 054-029. But they called their companion, so he took (the sword) and slew (her). | فَنَادَوْا صَاحِبَهُمْ فَتَعَاطَى فَعَقَرَ |
Fakayfa Kāna `Adhābī Wa Nudhuri | 054-030. How (great) was then My punishment and My warning! | فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ |
'Innā 'Arsalnā `Alayhim Şayĥatan Wāĥidatan Fakānū Kahashīmi Al-Muĥtažiri | 054-031. Surely We sent upon them a single cry, so they were like the dry fragments of trees which the maker of an enclosure collects. | إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ صَيْحَة ً وَاحِدَة ً فَكَانُوا كَهَشِيمِ الْمُحْتَظِرِ |
Wa Laqad Yassarnā Al-Qur'āna Lildhdhikri Fahal Min Muddakirin | 054-032. And certainly We have made the Quran easy for remembrance, but is there anyone who will mind? | وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِنْ مُدَّكِر ٍ |
Kadhdhabat Qawmu Lūţin Bin-Nudhuri | 054-033. The people of Lut treated the warning. as a lie. | كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ لُوط ٍ بِالنُّذُرِ |
'Innā 'Arsalnā `Alayhim Ĥāşibāan 'Illā 'Āla Lūţin ۖ Najjaynāhum Bisaĥarin | 054-034. Surely We sent upon them a stonestorm, except Lut's followers; We saved them a little before daybreak, | إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ حَاصِبا ً إِلاَّ آلَ لُوطٍ ۖ نَجَّيْنَاهُمْ بِسَحَرٍ |
Ni`matan Min `Indinā ۚ Kadhālika Najzī Man Shakara | 054-035. A favor from Us; thus do We reward him who gives thanks. | نِعْمَة ً مِنْ عِنْدِنَا ۚ كَذَلِكَ نَجْزِي مَنْ شَكَرَ |
Wa Laqad 'Andharahum Baţshatanā Fatamāraw Bin-Nudhuri | 054-036. And certainly he warned them of Our violent seizure, but they obstinately disputed the warning. | وَلَقَدْ أَنذَرَهُمْ بَطْشَتَنَا فَتَمَارَوْا بِالنُّذُرِ |
Wa Laqad Rāwadūhu `An Đayfihi Faţamasnā 'A`yunahum Fadhūqū `Adhābī Wa Nudhuri | 054-037. And certainly they endeavored to turn him from his guests, but We blinded their eyes; so taste My chastisement and My warning. | وَلَقَدْ رَاوَدُوه ُ عَنْ ضَيْفِه ِِ فَطَمَسْنَا أَعْيُنَهُمْ فَذُوقُوا عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ |
Wa Laqad Şabbaĥahum Bukratan `Adhābun Mustaqirrun | 054-038. And certainly a lasting chastisement overtook them in the morning. | وَلَقَدْ صَبَّحَهُمْ بُكْرَةً عَذَابٌ مُسْتَقِرّ ٌ |
Fadhūqū `Adhābī Wa Nudhuri | 054-039. So taste My chastisement and My warning. | فَذُوقُوا عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ |
Wa Laqad Yassarnā Al-Qur'āna Lildhdhikri Fahal Min Muddakirin | 054-040. And certainly We have made the Quran easy for remembrance, but is there anyone who will mind? | وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِنْ مُدَّكِر ٍ |
Wa Laqad Jā'a 'Āla Fir`awna An-Nudhuru | 054-041. And certainly the warning came to Firon's people. | وَلَقَدْ جَاءَ آلَ فِرْعَوْنَ النُّذُرُ |
Kadhdhabū Bi'āyātinā Kullihā Fa'akhadhnāhum 'Akhdha `Azīzin Muqtadirin | 054-042. They rejected all Our communications, so We overtook them after.the manner of a Mighty, Powerful One. | كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا كُلِّهَا فَأَخَذْنَاهُمْ أَخْذَ عَزِيزٍ مُقْتَدِر ٍ |
'Akuffārukum Khayrun Min 'Ūla'ikum 'Am Lakum Barā'atun Fī Az-Zuburi | 054-043. Are the unbelievers of yours better than these, or is there an exemption for you in the scriptures? | أَكُفَّارُكُمْ خَيْرٌ مِنْ أُوْلَئِكُمْ أَمْ لَكُمْ بَرَاءَة ٌ فِي الزُّبُرِ |
'Am Yaqūlūna Naĥnu Jamī`un Muntaşirun | 054-044. Or do they say: We are a host allied together to help each other? | أَمْ يَقُولُونَ نَحْنُ جَمِيعٌ مُنْتَصِر ٌ |
Sayuhzamu Al-Jam`u Wa Yuwallūna Ad-Dubura | 054-045. Soon shall the hosts be routed, and they shall turn (their) backs. | سَيُهْزَمُ الْجَمْعُ وَيُوَلُّونَ الدُّبُرَ |
Bali As-Sā`atu Maw`iduhum Wa As-Sā`atu 'Ad/há Wa 'Amarru | 054-046. Nay, the hour is their promised time, and the hour shall be most grievous and bitter. | بَلِ السَّاعَةُ مَوْعِدُهُمْ وَالسَّاعَةُ أَدْهَى وَأَمَرُّ |
'Inna Al-Mujrimīna Fī Đalālin Wa Su`urin | 054-047. Surely the guilty are in error and distress. | إِنَّ الْمُجْرِمِينَ فِي ضَلاَلٍ وَسُعُر ٍ |
Yawma Yusĥabūna Fī An-Nāri `Alá Wujūhihim Dhūqū Massa Saqara | 054-048. On the day when they shall be dragged upon their faces into the fire; taste the touch of hell. | يَوْمَ يُسْحَبُونَ فِي النَّارِ عَلَى وُجُوهِهِمْ ذُوقُوا مَسَّ سَقَرَ |
'Innā Kulla Shay'in Khalaqnāhu Biqadarin | 054-049. Surely We have created everything according to a measure. | إِنَّا كُلَّ شَيْءٍ خَلَقْنَاه ُ بِقَدَر ٍ |
Wa Mā 'Amrunā 'Illā Wāĥidatun Kalamĥin Bil-Başari | 054-050. And Our command is but one, as the twinkling of an eye. | وَمَا أَمْرُنَا إِلاَّ وَاحِدَة ٌ كَلَمْح ٍ بِالْبَصَرِ |
Wa Laqad 'Ahlaknā 'Ashyā`akum Fahal Min Muddakirin | 054-051. And certainly We have already destroyed the likes of you, but is there anyone who will mind? | وَلَقَدْ أَهْلَكْنَا أَشْيَاعَكُمْ فَهَلْ مِنْ مُدَّكِر ٍ |
Wa Kullu Shay'in Fa`alūhu Fī Az-Zuburi | 054-052. And everything they have done is in the writings. | وَكُلُّ شَيْء ٍ فَعَلُوه ُ فِي الزُّبُرِ |
Wa Kullu Şaghīrin Wa Kabīrin Mustaţarun | 054-053. And everything small and great is written down. | وَكُلُّ صَغِيرٍ وَكَبِيرٍ مُسْتَطَر ٌ |
'Inna Al-Muttaqīna Fī Jannātin Wa Naharin | 054-054. Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and rivers, | إِنَّ الْمُتَّقِينَ فِي جَنَّاتٍ وَنَهَر ٍ |
Fī Maq`adi Şidqin `Inda Malīkin Muqtadirin | 054-055. In the seat of honor with a most Powerful King. | فِي مَقْعَدِ صِدْقٍ عِنْدَ مَلِيكٍ مُقْتَدِر ٍ |
