Şād Wa Al-Qur'āni Dhī Adh-Dhikri | 038-001. Suad, I swear by the Quran, full of admonition. | صَاد وَالْقُرْآنِ ذِي الذِّكْرِ |
Bali Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Fī `Izzatin Wa Shiqāqin | 038-002. Nay! those who disbelieve are in self-exaltation and opposition. | بَلِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا فِي عِزَّةٍ وَشِقَاقٍ |
Kam 'Ahlaknā Min Qablihim Min Qarnin Fanādaw Walāta Ĥīna Manāşin | 038-003. How many did We destroy before them of the generations, then they cried while the time of escaping had passed away. | كَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ مِنْ قَرْن ٍ فَنَادَوْا وَلاَتَ حِينَ مَنَاص ٍ |
Wa `Ajibū 'An Jā'ahum Mundhirun Minhum ۖ Wa Qāla Al-Kāfirūna Hādhā Sāĥirun Kadhdhābun | 038-004. And they wonder that there has come to them a warner from among themselves, and the disbelievers say: This IS an enchanter, a liar. | وَعَجِبُوا أَنْ جَاءَهُمْ مُنْذِرٌ مِنْهُمْ ۖ وَقَالَ الْكَافِرُونَ هَذَا سَاحِرٌ كَذَّابٌ |
'Aja`ala Al-'Ālihata 'Ilahāan Wāĥidāan ۖ 'Inna Hādhā Lashay'un `Ujābun | 038-005. What! makes he the gods a single God? A strange thing is this, to be sure! | أَجَعَلَ الآلِهَةَ إِلَها ً وَاحِدا ً ۖ إِنَّ هَذَا لَشَيْءٌ عُجَابٌ |
Wa Anţalaqa Al-Mala'u Minhum 'Ani Amshū Wa Aşbirū `Alá 'Ālihatikum ۖ 'Inna Hādhā Lashay'un Yurādu | 038-006. And the chief persons of them break forth, saying: Go and steadily adhere to your gods; this is most surely a thing sought after. | وَانطَلَقَ الْمَلَأُ مِنْهُمْ أَنِ امْشُوا وَاصْبِرُوا عَلَى آلِهَتِكُمْ ۖ إِنَّ هَذَا لَشَيْءٌ يُرَادُ |
Mā Sami`nā Bihadhā Fī Al-Millati Al-'Ākhirati 'In Hādhā 'Illā Akhtilāqun | 038-007. We never heard of this in the former faith; this is nothing but a forgery: | مَا سَمِعْنَا بِهَذَا فِي الْمِلَّةِ الآخِرَةِ إِنْ هَذَا إِلاَّ اخْتِلاَقٌ |
'A'uunzila `Alayhi Adh-Dhikru Min Bayninā ۚ Bal Hum Fī Shakkin Min Dhikrī ۖ Bal Lammā Yadhūqū `Adhābi | 038-008. Has the reminder been revealed to him from among us? Nay! they are in doubt as to My reminder. Nay! they have not yet tasted My chastisement! | أَؤُنزِلَ عَلَيْهِ الذِّكْرُ مِنْ بَيْنِنَا ۚ بَلْ هُمْ فِي شَكٍّ مِنْ ذِكْرِي ۖ بَلْ لَمَّا يَذُوقُوا عَذَابِ |
'Am `Indahum Khazā'inu Raĥmati Rabbika Al-`Azīzi Al-Wahhābi | 038-009. Or is it that they have the treasures of the mercy of your Lord, the Mighty, the great Giver? | أَمْ عِنْدَهُمْ خَزَائِنُ رَحْمَةِ رَبِّكَ الْعَزِيزِ الْوَهَّابِ |
'Am Lahum Mulku As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđi Wa Mā Baynahumā ۖ Falyartaqū Fī Al-'Asbābi | 038-010. Or is it that theirs is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and what is between them? Then let them ascend by any | أَمْ لَهُمْ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا ۖ فَلْيَرْتَقُوا فِي الأَسْبَابِ |
Jundun Mā Hunālika Mahzūmun Mina Al-'Aĥzābi | 038-011. A host of deserters of the allies shall be here put to flight. | جُندٌ مَا هُنَالِكَ مَهْزُومٌ مِنَ الأَحْزَابِ |
Kadhdhabat Qablahum Qawmu Nūĥin Wa `Ādun Wa Fir`awnu Dhū Al-'Awtādi | 038-012. The people of Nuh and Ad, and Firon, the lord of spikes, rejected (apostles) before them. | كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ وَعَادٌ وَفِرْعَوْنُ ذُو الأَوْتَادِ |
Wa Thamūdu Wa Qawmu Lūţin Wa 'Aşĥābu Al-'Aykati ۚ 'Ūlā'ika Al-'Aĥzābu | 038-013. And Samood and the people of Lut and the dwellers of the thicket; these were the parties. | وَثَمُودُ وَقَوْمُ لُوطٍ وَأَصْحَابُ الأَيْكَةِ ۚ أُوْلَائِكَ الأَحْزَابُ |
'In Kullun 'Illā Kadhdhaba Ar-Rusula Faĥaqqa `Iqābi | 038-014. There was none of them but called the apostles liars, so just was My retribution. | إِنْ كُلّ ٌ إِلاَّ كَذَّبَ الرُّسُلَ فَحَقَّ عِقَابِ |
Wa Mā Yanžuru Hā'uulā' 'Illā Şayĥatan Wāĥidatan Mā Lahā Min Fawāqin | 038-015. Nor do these await aught but a single cry, there being no delay in it. | وَمَا يَنظُرُ هَاؤُلاَء إِلاَّ صَيْحَة ً وَاحِدَة ً مَا لَهَا مِنْ فَوَاقٍ |
Wa Qālū Rabbanā `Ajjil Lanā Qiţţanā Qabla Yawmi Al-Ĥisābi | 038-016. And they say: O our Lord! hasten on to us our portion before the day of reckoning. | وَقَالُوا رَبَّنَا عَجِّلْ لَنَا قِطَّنَا قَبْلَ يَوْمِ الْحِسَابِ |
Aşbir `Alá Mā Yaqūlūna Wa Adhkur `Abdanā Dāwūda Dhā Al-'Aydi ۖ 'Innahu 'Awwābun | 038-017. Bear patiently what they say, and remember Our servant Dawood, the possessor of power; surely he was frequent m returning (to Allah). | اصْبِرْ عَلَى مَا يَقُولُونَ وَاذْكُرْ عَبْدَنَا دَاوُودَ ذَا الأَيْدِ ۖ إِنَّهُ~ُ أَوَّابٌ |
'Innā Sakhkharnā Al-Jibāla Ma`ahu Yusabbiĥna Bil-`Ashīyi Wa Al-'Ishrāqi | 038-018. Surely We made the mountains to sing the glory (of Allah) in unison with him at the evening and the sunrise, | إِنَّا سَخَّرْنَا الْجِبَالَ مَعَه ُ يُسَبِّحْنَ بِالْعَشِيِّ وَالإِشْرَاقِ |
Wa Aţ-Ţayra Maĥshūratan ۖ Kullun Lahu 'Awwābun | 038-019. And the birds gathered together; all joined in singing with him. | وَالطَّيْرَ مَحْشُورَة ً ۖ كُلّ ٌ لَهُ~ُ أَوَّابٌ |
Wa Shadadnā Mulkahu Wa 'Ātaynāhu Al-Ĥikmata Wa Faşla Al-Khiţābi | 038-020. And We strengthened his kingdom and We gave him wisdom and a clear judgment. | وَشَدَدْنَا مُلْكَه ُ وَآتَيْنَاهُ الْحِكْمَةَ وَفَصْلَ الْخِطَابِ |
Wa Hal 'Atāka Naba'u Al-Khaşmi 'Idh Tasawwarū Al-Miĥrāba | 038-021. And has there come to you the story of the litigants, when they made an entry into the private chamber by ascending over the walls? | وَهَلْ أَتَاكَ نَبَأُ الْخَصْمِ إِذْ تَسَوَّرُوا الْمِحْرَابَ |
'Idh Dakhalū `Alá Dāwūda Fafazi`a Minhum ۖ Qālū Lā Takhaf ۖ Khaşmāni Baghá Ba`đunā `Alá Ba`đin Fāĥkum Baynanā Bil-Ĥaqqi Wa Lā Tushţiţ Wa Ahdinā 'Ilá Sawā'i Aş-Şirāţi | 038-022. When they entered in upon Dawood and he was frightened at them, they said: Fear not; two litigants, of whom one has acted wrongfully towards the other, therefore decide between us with justice, and do not act unjustly, and guide us to the right way. | إِذْ دَخَلُوا عَلَى دَاوُودَ فَفَزِعَ مِنْهُمْ ۖ قَالُوا لاَ تَخَفْ ۖ خَصْمَانِ بَغَى بَعْضُنَا عَلَى بَعْضٍ فَاحْكُمْ بَيْنَنَا بِالْحَقِّ وَلاَ تُشْطِطْ وَاهْدِنَا إِلَى سَوَاءِ الصِّرَاطِ |
'Inna Hādhā 'Akhī Lahu Tis`un Wa Tis`ūna Na`jatan Wa Liya Na`jatun Wāĥidatun Faqāla 'Akfilnīhā Wa `Azzanī Fī Al-Khiţābi | 038-023. Surely this is my brother; he has ninety-nine ewes and I have a single ewe; but he said: Make it over to me, and he has prevailed against me in discourse. | إِنَّ هَذَا أَخِي لَه ُ تِسْعٌ وَتِسْعُونَ نَعْجَة ً وَلِيَ نَعْجَةٌ وَاحِدَة ٌ فَقَالَ أَكْفِلْنِيهَا وَعَزَّنِي فِي الْخِطَابِ |
Qāla Laqad Žalamaka Bisu'uāli Na`jatika 'Ilá Ni`ājihi ۖ Wa 'Inna Kathīrāan Mina Al-Khulaţā'i Layabghī Ba`đuhum `Alá Ba`đin 'Illā Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Wa `Amilū Aş-Şāliĥāti Wa Qalīlun Mā Hum ۗ Wa Žanna Dāwūdu 'Annamā Fatannāhu Fāstaghfara Rabbahu Wa Kharra Rāki`āan Wa 'Anāba | 038-024. He said: Surely he has been unjust to you in demanding your ewe (to add) to his own ewes; and most surely most of the partners act wrongfully towards one another, save those who believe and do good, and very few are they; and Dawood was sure that We had tried him, so he sought the protection of his Lord and he fell down bowing and turned time after time (to Him). | قَالَ لَقَدْ ظَلَمَكَ بِسُؤَالِ نَعْجَتِكَ إِلَى نِعَاجِه ِِ ۖ وَإِنَّ كَثِيرا ً مِنَ الْخُلَطَاءِ لَيَبْغِي بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ إِلاَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ وَقَلِيلٌ مَا هُمْ ۗ وَظَنَّ دَاوُودُ أَنَّمَا فَتَنَّاه ُ فَاسْتَغْفَرَ رَبَّه ُ وَخَرَّ رَاكِعا ً وَأَنَابَ |
Faghafarnā Lahu Dhālika ۖ Wa 'Inna Lahu `Indanā Lazulfá Wa Ĥusna Ma'ābin | 038-025. Therefore We rectified for him this, and most surely he had a nearness to Us and an excellent resort. | فَغَفَرْنَا لَه ُ ذَلِكَ ۖ وَإِنَّ لَه ُ عِنْدَنَا لَزُلْفَى وَحُسْنَ مَآبٍ |
Yā Dāwūdu 'Innā Ja`alnāka Khalīfatan Fī Al-'Arđi Fāĥkum Bayna An-Nāsi Bil-Ĥaqqi Wa Lā Tattabi`i Al-Hawá Fayuđillaka `An Sabīli Al-Lahi ۚ 'Inna Al-Ladhīna Yađillūna `An Sabīli Al-Lahi Lahum `Adhābun Shadīdun Bimā Nasū Yawma Al-Ĥisābi | 038-026. o Dawood ! surely We have made you a ruler in the land; so judge between men with justice and do not follow desire, lest it should lead you astray from the path of Allah; (as for) those who go astray from the path of Allah, they shall surely have a severe punishment because they forgot the day of reckoning. | يَادَاوُودُ إِنَّا جَعَلْنَاكَ خَلِيفَة ً فِي الأَرْضِ فَاحْكُمْ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ بِالْحَقِّ وَلاَ تَتَّبِعِ الْهَوَى فَيُضِلَّكَ عَنْ سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ إِنَّ ۚ الَّذِينَ يَضِلُّونَ عَنْ سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ شَدِيدٌ بِمَا نَسُوا يَوْمَ الْحِسَابِ |
Wa Mā Khalaqnā As-Samā'a Wa Al-'Arđa Wa Mā Baynahumā Bāţilāan ۚ Dhālika Žannu Al-Ladhīna Kafarū ۚ Fawaylun Lilladhīna Kafarū Mina An-Nāri | 038-027. And We did not create the heaven and the earth and what is between them in vain; that is the opinion of those who disbelieve then woe to those who disbelieve on account of the fire. | وَمَا خَلَقْنَا السَّمَاءَ وَالأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا بَاطِلا ً ۚ ذَلِكَ ظَنُّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا ۚ فَوَيْل ٌ لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنَ النَّارِ |
'Am Naj`alu Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Wa `Amilū Aş-Şāliĥāti Kālmufsidīna Fī Al-'Arđi 'Am Naj`alu Al-Muttaqīna Kālfujjāri | 038-028. Shall We treat those who believe and do good like the mischief-makers in the earth? Or shall We make those who guard (against evil) like the wicked? | أَمْ نَجْعَلُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ كَالْمُفْسِدِينَ فِي الأَرْضِ أَمْ نَجْعَلُ الْمُتَّقِينَ كَالْفُجَّارِ |
Kitābun 'Anzalnāhu 'Ilayka Mubārakun Liyaddabbarū 'Āyātihi Wa Liyatadhakkara 'Ūlū Al-'Albābi | 038-029. (It is) a Book We have revealed to you abounding in good that they may ponder over its verses, and that those endowed with understanding may be mindful. | كِتَابٌ أَنزَلْنَاهُ~ُ إِلَيْكَ مُبَارَك ٌ لِيَدَّبَّرُوا آيَاتِه ِِ وَلِيَتَذَكَّرَ أُوْلُوا الأَلْبَابِ |
Wa Wahabnā Lidāwūda Sulaymāna ۚ Ni`ma Al-`Abdu ۖ 'Innahu 'Awwābun | 038-030. And We gave to Dawood Sulaiman, most excellent the servant! Surely he was frequent in returning (to Allah). | وَوَهَبْنَا لِدَاوُودَ سُلَيْمَانَ ۚ نِعْمَ الْعَبْدُ ۖ إِنَّهُ~ُ أَوَّابٌ |
'Idh `Uriđa `Alayhi Bil-`Ashīyi Aş-Şāfinātu Al-Jiyādu | 038-031. When there were brought to him in the evening (horses) still when standing, swift when running-- | إِذْ عُرِضَ عَلَيْهِ بِالْعَشِيِّ الصَّافِنَاتُ الْجِيَادُ |
Faqāla 'Innī 'Aĥbabtu Ĥubba Al-Khayri `An Dhikri Rabbī Ĥattá Tawārat Bil-Ĥijābi | 038-032. Then he said: Surely I preferred the good things to the remembrance of my Lord-- until the sun set and time for Asr prayer was over, (he said): | فَقَالَ إِنِّي أَحْبَبْتُ حُبَّ الْخَيْرِ عَنْ ذِكْرِ رَبِّي حَتَّى تَوَارَتْ بِالْحِجَابِ |
Ruddūhā `Alayya ۖ Faţafiqa Masĥāan Bis-Sūqi Wa Al-'A`nāqi | 038-033. Bring them back to me; so he began to slash (their) legs and necks. | رُدُّوهَا عَلَيَّ ۖ فَطَفِقَ مَسْحا ً بِالسُّوقِ وَالأَعْنَاقِ |
Wa Laqad Fatannā Sulaymāna Wa 'Alqaynā `Alá Kursīyihi Jasadāan Thumma 'Anāba | 038-034. And certainly We tried Sulaiman, and We put on his throne a (mere) body, so he turned (to Allah). | وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا سُلَيْمَانَ وَأَلْقَيْنَا عَلَى كُرْسِيِّه ِِ جَسَدا ً ثُمَّ أَنَابَ |
Qāla Rabbi Aghfir Lī Wa Hab Lī Mulkāan Lā Yanbaghī Li'ĥadin Min Ba`dī ۖ 'Innaka 'Anta Al-Wahhābu | 038-035. He said: My Lord! do Thou forgive me and grant me a kingdom which is not fit for (being inherited by) anyone after me; | قَالَ رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَهَبْ لِي مُلْكا ً لاَ يَنْبَغِي لِأحَدٍ مِنْ بَعْدِي ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْوَهَّابُ |
Fasakhkharnā Lahu Ar-Rīĥa Tajrī Bi'amrihi Rukhā'an Ĥaythu 'Aşāba | 038-036. Then We made the wind subservient to him; it made his command to run gently wherever he desired, | فَسَخَّرْنَا لَهُ الرِّيحَ تَجْرِي بِأَمْرِه ِِ رُخَاءً حَيْثُ أَصَابَ |
Wa Ash-Shayāţīna Kulla Bannā'in Wa Ghawwāşin | 038-037. And the shaitans, every builder and diver, | وَالشَّيَاطِينَ كُلَّ بَنَّاءٍ وَغَوَّاص ٍ |
Wa 'Ākharīna Muqarranīna Fī Al-'Aşfādi | 038-038. And others fettered in chains. | وَآخَرِينَ مُقَرَّنِينَ فِي الأَصْفَادِ |
Hādhā `Aţā'uunā Fāmnun 'Aw 'Amsik Bighayri Ĥisābin | 038-039. This is Our free gift, therefore give freely or withhold, without reckoning. | هَذَا عَطَاؤُنَا فَامْنُنْ أَوْ أَمْسِكْ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ |
Wa 'Inna Lahu `Indanā Lazulfá Wa Ĥusna Ma'ābin | 038-040. And most surely he had a nearness to Us and an excellent resort. | وَإِنَّ لَه ُ عِنْدَنَا لَزُلْفَى وَحُسْنَ مَآبٍ |
Wa Adhkur `Abdanā 'Ayyūba 'Idh Nādá Rabbahu 'Annī Massanī Ash-Shayţānu Binuşbin Wa `Adhābin | 038-041. And remember Our servant Ayyub, when he called upon his Lord: The Shaitan has afflicted me with toil and torment. | وَاذْكُرْ عَبْدَنَا أَيُّوبَ إِذْ نَادَى رَبَّهُ~ُ أَنِّي مَسَّنِي الشَّيْطَانُ بِنُصْبٍ وَعَذَابٍ |
Arkuđ Birijlika ۖ Hādhā Mughtasalun Bāridun Wa Sharābun | 038-042. Urge with your foot; here is a cool washing-place and a drink. | ارْكُضْ بِرِجْلِكَ ۖ هَذَا مُغْتَسَلٌ بَارِدٌ وَشَرَابٌ |
Wa Wahabnā Lahu 'Ahlahu Wa Mithlahum Ma`ahum Raĥmatan Minnā Wa Dhikrá Li'wlī Al-'Albābi | 038-043. And We gave him his family and the like of them with them, as a mercy from Us, and as a reminder to those possessed of understanding. | وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُ~ُ أَهْلَه ُ وَمِثْلَهُمْ مَعَهُمْ رَحْمَة ً مِنَّا وَذِكْرَى لِأوْلِي الأَلْبَابِ |
Wa Khudh Biyadika Đighthāan Fāđrib Bihi Wa Lā Taĥnath ۗ 'Innā Wa Jadnāhu Şābirāan ۚ Ni`ma Al-`Abdu ۖ 'Innahu 'Awwābun | 038-044. And take in your hand a green branch and beat her with It and do not break your oath; surely We found him patient; most excellent the servant! Surely he was frequent m returning (to Allah). | وَخُذْ بِيَدِكَ ضِغْثا ً فَاضْرِبْ بِه ِِ وَلاَ تَحْنَثْ ۗ إِنَّا وَجَدْنَاه ُ صَابِرا ً ۚ نِعْمَ الْعَبْدُ ۖ إِنَّهُ~ُ أَوَّابٌ |
Wa Adhkur `Ibādanā 'Ibrāhīma Wa 'Isĥāqa Wa Ya`qūba 'Ūlī Al-'Aydī Wa Al-'Abşāri | 038-045. And remember Our servants Ibrahim and Ishaq and Yaqoub, men of power and insight. | وَاذْكُرْ عِبَادَنَا إبْرَاهِيمَ وَإِسْحَاقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ أُوْلِي الأَيْدِي وَالأَبْصَارِ |
'Innā 'Akhlaşnāhum Bikhālişatin Dhikrá Ad-Dāri | 038-046. Surely We purified them by a pure quality, the keeping m mind of the (final) abode. | إِنَّا أَخْلَصْنَاهُمْ بِخَالِصَة ٍ ذِكْرَى الدَّارِ |
Wa 'Innahum `Indanā Lamina Al-Muşţafayna Al-'Akhyāri | 038-047. And most surely they were with Us, of the elect, the best. | وَإِنَّهُمْ عِنْدَنَا لَمِنَ الْمُصْطَفَيْنَ الأَخْيَارِ |
Wa Adhkur 'Ismā`īla Wa Al-Yasa`a Wa Dhā Al-Kifli ۖ Wa Kullun Mina Al-'Akhyāri | 038-048. And remember Ismail and Al-Yasha and Zulkifl; and they were all of the best. | وَاذْكُرْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ وَالْيَسَعَ وَذَا الْكِفْلِ ۖ وَكُلٌّ مِنَ الأَخْيَارِ |
Hādhā Dhikrun ۚ Wa 'Inna Lilmuttaqīna Laĥusna Ma'ābin | 038-049. This is a reminder; and most surely there is an excellent resort for those who guard (against evil), | هَذَا ذِكْرٌ ۚ وَإِنَّ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ لَحُسْنَ مَآبٍ |
Jannāti `Adnin Mufattaĥatan Lahumu Al-'Abwābu | 038-050. The gardens of perpetuity, the doors are opened for them. | جَنَّاتِ عَدْنٍ مُفَتَّحَة ً لَهُمُ الأَبْوَابُ |
Muttaki'īna Fīhā Yad`ūna Fīhā Bifākihatin Kathīratin Wa Sharābin | 038-051. Reclining therein, calling therein for many fruits and drink. | مُتَّكِئِينَ فِيهَا يَدْعُونَ فِيهَا بِفَاكِهَة ٍ كَثِيرَةٍ وَشَرَابٍ |
Wa `Indahum Qāşirātu Aţ-Ţarfi 'Atrābun | 038-052. And with them shall be those restraining their eyes, equals in age. | وَعِنْدَهُمْ قَاصِرَاتُ الطَّرْفِ أَتْرَابٌ |
Hādhā Mā Tū`adūna Liyawmi Al-Ĥisābi | 038-053. This is what you are promised for the day of reckoning. | هَذَا مَا تُوعَدُونَ لِيَوْمِ الْحِسَابِ |
'Inna Hādhā Larizqunā Mā Lahu Min Nafādin | 038-054. Most surely this is Our sustenance; it shall never come to an end; | إِنَّ هَذَا لَرِزْقُنَا مَا لَه ُ مِنْ نَفَاد ٍ |
Hādhā ۚ Wa 'Inna Lilţţāghīna Lasharra Ma'ābin | 038-055. This (shall be so); and most surely there is an evil resort for the inordinate ones; | هَذَا ۚ وَإِنَّ لِلطَّاغِينَ لَشَرَّ مَآبٍ |
Jahannama Yaşlawnahā Fabi'sa Al-Mihādu | 038-056. Hell; they shall enter it, so evil is the resting-place. | جَهَنَّمَ يَصْلَوْنَهَا فَبِئْسَ الْمِهَادُ |
Hādhā Falyadhūqūhu Ĥamīmun Wa Ghassāqun | 038-057. This (shall be so); so let them taste it, boiling and intensely cold (drink). | هَذَا فَلْيَذُوقُوه ُ حَمِيمٌ وَغَسَّاقٌ |
Wa 'Ākharu Min Shaklihi 'Azwājun | 038-058. And other (punishment) of the same kind-- of various sorts. | وَآخَرُ مِنْ شَكْلِهِ أَزْوَاجٌ |
Hādhā Fawjun Muqtaĥimun Ma`akum ۖ Lā Marĥabāan Bihim ۚ 'Innahum Şālū An-Nāri | 038-059. This is an army plunging in without consideration along with you; no welcome for them, surely they shall enter fire. | هَذَا فَوْجٌ مُقْتَحِمٌ مَعَكُمْ ۖ لاَ مَرْحَبا ً بِهِمْ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ صَالُوا النَّارِ |
Qālū Bal 'Antum Lā Marĥabāan Bikum ۖ 'Antum Qaddamtumūhu Lanā ۖ Fabi'sa Al-Qarāru | 038-060. They shall say: Nay! you-- no welcome to you: you did proffer it to us, so evil is the resting-place. | قَالُوا بَلْ أَنْتُمْ لاَ مَرْحَبا ً بِكُمْ ۖ أَنْتُمْ قَدَّمْتُمُوه ُ لَنَا ۖ فَبِئْسَ الْقَرَارُ |
Qālū Rabbanā Man Qaddama Lanā Hādhā Fazid/hu `Adhābāan Đi`fāan Fī An-Nāri | 038-061. They shall say: Our Lord! whoever prepared it first for us, add Thou to him a double chastisement in the fire. | قَالُوا رَبَّنَا مَنْ قَدَّمَ لَنَا هَذَا فَزِدْهُ عَذَابا ً ضِعْفا ً فِي النَّارِ |
Wa Qālū Mā Lanā Lā Nará Rijālāan Kunnā Na`udduhum Mina Al-'Ashrār | 038-062. And they shall say: What is the matter with us that we do not see men whom we used to count among the vicious? | وَقَالُوا مَا لَنَا لاَ نَرَى رِجَالا ً كُنَّا نَعُدُّهُمْ مِنَ الأَشْرَار |
'Āttakhadhnāhum Sikhrīyāan 'Am Zāghat `Anhumu Al-'Abşāru | 038-063. Was it that we (only) took them in scorn, or have our eyes (now) turned aside from them? | أَاتَّخَذْنَاهُمْ سِخْرِيّا ً أَمْ زَاغَتْ عَنْهُمُ الأَبْصَارُ |
'Inna Dhālika Laĥaqqun Takhāşumu 'Ahli An-Nāri | 038-064. That most surely is the truth: the contending one with another of the inmates of the fire. | إِنَّ ذَلِكَ لَحَقّ ٌ تَخَاصُمُ أَهْلِ النَّارِ |
Qul 'Innamā 'Anā Mundhirun ۖ Wa Mā Min 'Ilahin 'Illā Al-Lahu Al-Wāĥidu Al-Qahhāru | 038-065. Say: I am only a warner, and there is no god but Allah, the One, the Subduer (of all): | قُلْ إِنَّمَا أَنَا مُنذِرٌ ۖ وَمَا مِنْ إِلَهٍ~ٍ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ الْوَاحِدُ الْقَهَّارُ |
Rabbu As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđi Wa Mā Baynahumā Al-`Azīzu Al-Ghaffāru | 038-066. The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, the Mighty, the most Forgiving. | رَبُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا الْعَزِيزُ الْغَفَّارُ |
Qul Huwa Naba'un `Ažīmun | 038-067. Say: It is a message of importance, | قُلْ هُوَ نَبَأٌ عَظِيم ٌ |
'Antum `Anhu Mu`riđūna | 038-068. (And) you are turning aside from it: | أَنْتُمْ عَنْهُ مُعْرِضُونَ |
Mā Kāna Liya Min `Ilmin Bil-Mala'i Al-'A`lá 'Idh Yakhtaşimūna | 038-069. 1 had no knowledge of the exalted chiefs when they contended: | مَا كَانَ لِيَ مِنْ عِلْم ٍ بِالْمَلَإِ الأَعْلَى إِذْ يَخْتَصِمُونَ |
'In Yūĥá 'Ilayya 'Illā 'Annamā 'Anā Nadhīrun Mubīnun | 038-070. Naught is revealed to me save that I am a plain warner. | إِنْ يُوحَى إِلَيَّ إِلاَّ أَنَّمَا أَنَا نَذِيرٌ مُبِين ٌ |
'Idh Qāla Rabbuka Lilmalā'ikati 'Innī Khāliqun Basharāan Min Ţīnin | 038-071. When your Lord said to the angels; Surely I am going to create a mortal from dust: | إِذْ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلْمَلاَئِكَةِ إِنِّي خَالِق ٌ بَشَرا ً مِنْ طِين ٍ |
Fa'idhā Sawwaytuhu Wa Nafakhtu Fīhi Min Rūĥī Faqa`ū Lahu Sājidīna | 038-072. So when I have made him complete and breathed into him of My spirit, then fall down making obeisance to him. | فَإِذَا سَوَّيْتُه ُ وَنَفَخْتُ فِيه ِِ مِنْ رُوحِي فَقَعُوا لَه ُ سَاجِدِينَ |
Fasajada Al-Malā'ikatu Kulluhum 'Ajma`ūna | 038-073. And the angels did obeisance, all of them, | فَسَجَدَ الْمَلاَئِكَةُ كُلُّهُمْ أَجْمَعُونَ |
'Illā 'Iblīsa Astakbara Wa Kāna Mina Al-Kāfirīna | 038-074. But not Iblis: he was proud and he was one of the unbelievers. | إِلاَّ إِبْلِيسَ اسْتَكْبَرَ وَكَانَ مِنَ الْكَافِرِينَ |
Qāla Yā 'Iblīsu Mā Mana`aka 'An Tasjuda Limā Khalaqtu Biyadayya ۖ 'Āstakbarta 'Am Kunta Mina Al-`Ālīna | 038-075. He said: O Iblis! what prevented you that you should do obeisance to him whom I created with My two hands? Are you proud or are you of the exalted ones? | قَالَ يَاإِبْلِيسُ مَا مَنَعَكَ أَنْ تَسْجُدَ لِمَا خَلَقْتُ بِيَدَيَّ أَاسْتَكْبَرْتَ ۖ أَمْ كُنتَ مِنَ الْعَالِينَ |
Qāla 'Anā Khayrun Minhu ۖ Khalaqtanī Min Nārin Wa Khalaqtahu Min Ţīnin | 038-076. He said: I am better than he; Thou hast created me of fire, and him Thou didst create of dust. | قَالَ أَنَا خَيْرٌ مِنْهُ ۖ خَلَقْتَنِي مِنْ نَارٍ وَخَلَقْتَه ُ مِنْ طِينٍ |
Qāla Fākhruj Minhā Fa'innaka Rajīmun | 038-077. He said: Then get out of it, for surely you are driven away: | قَالَ فَاخْرُجْ مِنْهَا فَإِنَّكَ رَجِيم ٌ |
Wa 'Inna `Alayka La`natī 'Ilá Yawmi Ad-Dīni | 038-078. And surely My curse is on you to the day of judgment. | وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكَ لَعْنَتِي إِلَى يَوْمِ الدِّينِ |
Qāla Rabbi Fa'anžirnī 'Ilá Yawmi Yub`athūna | 038-079. He said: My Lord! then respite me to the day that they are raised. | قَالَ رَبِّ فَأَنظِرْنِي إِلَى يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ |
Qāla Fa'innaka Mina Al-Munžarīna | 038-080. He said: Surely you are of the respited ones, | قَالَ فَإِنَّكَ مِنَ الْمُنظَرِينَ |
'Ilá Yawmi Al-Waqti Al-Ma`lūmi | 038-081. Till the period of the time made known. | إِلَى يَوْمِ الْوَقْتِ الْمَعْلُومِ |
Qāla Fabi`izzatika La'ughwiyannahum 'Ajma`īna | 038-082. He said: Then by Thy Might I will surely make them live an evil life, all, | قَالَ فَبِعِزَّتِكَ لَأُغْوِيَنَّهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ |
'Illā `Ibādaka Minhumu Al-Mukhlaşīna | 038-083. Except Thy servants from among them, the purified ones. | إِلاَّ عِبَادَكَ مِنْهُمُ الْمُخْلَصِينَ |
Qāla Fālĥaqqu Wa Al-Ĥaqqa 'Aqūlu | 038-084. He said: The truth then is and the truth do I speak: | قَالَ فَالْحَقُّ وَالْحَقَّ أَقُولُ |
La'amla'anna Jahannama Minka Wa Mimman Tabi`aka Minhum 'Ajma`īna | 038-085. That I will most certainly fill hell with you and with those among them who follow you, all. | لَأَمْلَأَنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنْكَ وَمِمَّنْ تَبِعَكَ مِنْهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ |
Qul Mā 'As'alukum `Alayhi Min 'Ajrin Wa Mā 'Anā Mina Al-Mutakallifīna | 038-086. Say: I do not ask you for any reward for it; nor am I of those who affect: | قُلْ مَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ وَمَا أَنَا مِنَ الْمُتَكَلِّفِينَ |
'In Huwa 'Illā Dhikrun Lil`ālamīna | 038-087. It is nothing but a reminder to the nations; | إِنْ هُوَ إِلاَّ ذِكْرٌ لِلْعَالَمِينَ |
Wa Lata`lamunna Naba'ahu Ba`da Ĥīnin | 038-088. And most certainly you will come to know about it after a time. | وَلَتَعْلَمُنَّ نَبَأَه ُ بَعْدَ حِين ٍ |
