Wa Al-Layli 'Idhā Yaghshá  | By the night, when it covers with darkness;[92.1] | وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَى |
Wa An-Nahāri 'Idhā Tajallá  | and by the day, when it spreads its brightness.[92.2] | وَالنَّهَارِ إِذَا تَجَلَّى |
Wa Mā Khalaqa Adh-Dhakara Wa Al-'Unthá  | By Him who created the male and the female,[92.3] | وَمَا خَلَقَ الذَّكَرَ وَالأُنْثَى |
'Inna Sa`yakum Lashattá  | surely your efforts are directed towards various ends.[92.4] | إِنَّ سَعْيَكُمْ لَشَتَّى |
Fa'ammā Man 'A`ţá Wa Attaqá  | So for him who gives in charity, fears Allah[92.5] | فَأَمَّا مَنْ أَعْطَى وَاتَّقَى |
Wa Şaddaqa Bil-Ĥusná  | and testifies to goodness,[92.6] | وَصَدَّقَ بِالْحُسْنَى |
Fasanuyassiruhu Lilyusrá  | We shall facilitate for him the easy way.[92.7] | فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُُلِلْيُسْرَى |
Wa 'Ammā Man Bakhila Wa Astaghná  | As for him who is stingy and considers himself independent of Allah[92.8] | وَأَمَّا مَنْ بَخِلَ وَاسْتَغْنَى |
Wa Kadhdhaba Bil-Ĥusná  | and rejects the goodness,[92.9] | وَكَذَّبَ بِالْحُسْنَى |
Fasanuyassiruhu Lil`usrá  | We shall facilitate for him the hard way.[92.10] | فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُُلِلْعُسْرَى |
Wa Mā Yughnī `Anhu Māluhu 'Idhā Taraddá  | Just think! What benefit will he get from his wealth, if he himself is doomed.[92.11] | وَمَا يُغْنِي عَنْهُ مَالُهُ~ُ إِذَا تَرَدَّى |
'Inna `Alaynā Lalhudá  | Surely it is for Us to give guidance,[92.12] | إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا لَلْهُدَى |
Wa 'Inna Lanā Lal'ākhirata Wa Al-'Ūlá  | and surely to Us belong the end and the beginning.[92.13] | وَإِنَّ لَنَا لَلآخِرَةَ وَالأُولَى |
Fa'andhartukum Nārāan Talažžá  | Therefore, I warn you of the blazing fire,[92.14] | فَأَنْذَرْتُكُمْ نَاراً تَلَظَّى |
Lā Yaşlāhā 'Illā Al-'Ashqá  | in which none shall burn except the wretched[92.15] | لاَ يَصْلاَهَا إِلاَّ الأَشْقَى |
Al-Ladhī Kadhdhaba Wa Tawallá  | who deny the truth and give no heed.[92.16] | الَّذِي كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّى |
Wa Sayujannabuhā Al-'Atqá  | But the pious shall be kept away from it,[92.17] | وَسَيُجَنَّبُهَا الأَتْقَى |
Al-Ladhī Yu'utī Mālahu Yatazakká  | the one who spends in charity for self-purification,[92.18] | الَّذِي يُؤْتِي مَالَهُُيَتَزَكَّى |
Wa Mā Li'ĥadin `Indahu Min Ni`matin Tujzá  | not seeking any favor from anyone for which a reward is expected in return,[92.19] | وَمَا لِأحَدٍ عِنْدَهُُمِنْ نِعْمَةٍ تُجْزَى |
'Illā Abtighā'a Wajhi Rabbihi Al-'A`lá  | except seeking the good pleasure of his Rabb, the Most High.[92.20] | إِلاَّ ابْتِغَاءَ وَجْهِ رَبِّهِ الأَعْلَى |
Wa Lasawfa Yarđá  | Such persons shall soon be well-pleased with Allah.[92.21] | وَلَسَوْفَ يَرْضَى |
