Wa Ash-Shamsi Wa Đuĥāhā  | By the sun and its brightness;[91.1] | وَالشَّمْسِ وَضُحَاهَا |
Wa Al-Qamari 'Idhā Talāhā  | by the moon, as she follows him;[91.2] | وَالْقَمَرِ إِذَا تَلاَهَا |
Wa An-Nahāri 'Idhā Jallāhā  | by the day, which shows its splendor;[91.3] | وَالنَّهَارِ إِذَا جَلاَّهَا |
Wa Al-Layli 'Idhā Yaghshāhā  | by the night, which draws a veil over it;[91.4] | وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَاهَا |
Wa As-Samā'i Wa Mā Banāhā  | by the heaven and Him Who made it;[91.5] | وَالسَّمَاءِ وَمَا بَنَاهَا |
Wa Al-'Arđi Wa Mā Ţaĥāhā  | by the earth and Him Who spread it;[91.6] | وَالأَرْضِ وَمَا طَحَاهَا |
Wa Nafsin Wa Mā Sawwāhā  | by the soul and Him Who perfected it[91.7] | وَنَفْسٍ وَمَا سَوَّاهَا |
Fa'alhamahā Fujūrahā Wa Taqwāhā  | and inspired it with knowledge of what is wrong for it and what is right for it:[91.8] | فَأَلْهَمَهَا فُجُورَهَا وَتَقْوَاهَا |
Qad 'Aflaĥa Man Zakkāhā  | indeed successful will be the one who keeps it pure,[91.9] | قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَنْ زَكَّاهَا |
Wa Qad Khāba Man Dassāhā  | and indeed failure will be the one who corrupts it![91.10] | وَقَدْ خَابَ مَنْ دَسَّاهَا |
Kadhdhabat Thamūdu Biţaghwāhā  | The people of Thamüd denied the truth because of their arrogant transgression[91.11] | كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ بِطَغْوَاهَا |
'Idhi Anba`atha 'Ashqāhā  | when the most wicked man among them was deputed to kill the she-camel.[91.12] | إِذِ انْبَعَثَ أَشْقَاهَا |
Faqāla Lahum Rasūlu Al-Lahi Nāqata Al-Lahi Wa Suqyāhā  | The Rasool of Allah warned them, saying: “This is Allah’s She-camel do not molest her! Let her drink on her turn."[91.13] | فَقَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ نَاقَةَ اللَّهِ وَسُقْيَاهَا |
Fakadhdhabūhu Fa`aqarūhā Fadamdama `Alayhim Rabbuhum Bidhanbihim Fasawwāhā  | They disbelieved him and hamstrung her. Therefore, for that crime, their Rabb let loose His scourge upon them and leveled them to the ground.[91.14] | فَكَذَّبُوهُُفَعَقَرُوهَا فَدَمْدَمَ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّهُمْ بِذَنْبِهِمْ فَسَوَّاهَا |
Wa Lā Yakhāfu `Uqbāhā  | For He (Allah) has no fear of its consequences.[91.15] | وَلاَ يَخَافُ عُقْبَاهَا |
