Hal 'Atá `Alá A l-'In sā ni Ĥī nun Mina A d-Dahr i Lam Yakun Sh ay'ā an Madh kūrāan Has there not passed over man a period of time when he was nothing- -not even mentioned?[76.1] هَلْ أَتَى عَلَى ا لإِن سَا نِ حِي نٌ مِنَ ا ل دَّهْر ِ لَمْ يَكُن ْ شَيْئاً مَذْكُوراً
'Inn ā Kh alaq nā A l-'In sā na Min Nuţ fatin 'Am sh ā jin Nab talī hi Faja`alnā hu Samī`āan Başīrāan Indeed, We have created man from the sperm drop containing both sexes, so that We may test him. Therefore, We gave him the faculties of hearing and sight.[76.2] إِنَّ ا خَلَقْ نَا ا لإِن سَا نَ مِن ْ نُطْ فَةٍ أَمْشَا جٍ نَبْ تَلِي هِِ فَجَعَلْنَا هُُسَمِيعاً بَصِيراً
'Inn ā Hadaynā hu A s-Sabī la 'Imm ā Sh ākirāan Wa 'Imm ā Kafūrāan Then We guided him to the Way: Now, it is his choice either to be grateful or to be a disbeliever.[76.3] إِنَّ ا هَدَيْنَا هُ ا ل سَّبِي لَ إِمَّ ا شَاكِراً وَإِمَّ ا كَفُوراً
'Inn ā 'A`tad nā Lilkāfir ī na Salāsilāan Wa 'Agh lālāan Wa Sa`īrāan For the disbelievers, We have prepared chains, fetters and a blazing fire.[76.4] إِنَّ ا أَعْتَد ْنَا لِلْكَافِر ِي نَ سَلاَسِلاً وَأَغْلاَلاً وَسَعِيراً
'Inn a A l-'Ab rā ra Yash rabū na Min Ka'sin Kā na Mizājuhā Kāfūrāan The righteous shall be in paradise drinking from a cup of wine mixed with Kafoor (camphor-water),[76.5] إِنّ َ ا لأَبْ رَا رَ يَشْرَبُو نَ مِن ْ كَأْسٍ كَا نَ مِزَاجُهَا كَا فُوراً
`Aynāan Yash rabu Bihā `Ibā du A l-Lahi Yufajjirūnahā Tafjīrāan from a gushing spring at which the servants of Allah will refresh themselves, and shall be able to take out its channels from place to place at their will.[76.6] عَيْن اً يَشْرَبُ بِهَا عِبَا دُ ا ل لَّهِ يُفَجِّرُونَهَا تَفْجِيراً
Yūfū na Bin -Nadh r i Wa Yakh āfū na Yawmāan Kā na Sh arruhu Mustaţīrāan They are those who keep their vows and dread the Day of widespread terror,[76.7] يُوفُو نَ بِا ل نَّ ذْر ِ وَيَخَافُو نَ يَوْماً كَا نَ شَرُّهُُمُسْتَطِيراً
Wa Yuţ `imū na A ţ -Ţa`ā ma `Alá Ĥubbihi Miskīnāan Wa Yatīmāan Wa 'Asīrāan who feed the poor, the orphan and the captive for the love of Allah,[76.8] وَيُطْ عِمُو نَ ا ل طَّعَا مَ عَلَى حُبِّهِِ مِسْكِين اً وَيَتِيماً وَأَسِيراً
'Inn amā Nuţ `imukum Liwaj hi A l-Lahi Lā Nur ī du Min kum Jazā 'an Wa Lā Sh ukūrāan saying: “We feed you for the sake of Allah Alone; we seek from you neither reward nor thanks,[76.9] إِنَّ مَا نُطْ عِمُكُمْ لِوَجْ هِ ا ل لَّهِ لاَ نُر ِي دُ مِنْ كُمْ جَزَا وَلاَ شُكُوراً
'Inn ā Nakh ā fu Min Rabbinā Yawmāan `Abūsāan Qam ţar īrāan for we dread our Rabb's torment of a very distressful Day."[76.10] إِنَّ ا نَخَا فُ مِن ْ رَبِّنَا يَوْماً عَبُوساً قَمْطَر ِيراً
Fawaqāhumu A l-Lahu Sh arra Dh ālika A l-Yawmi Wa Laqqāhum Nađratan Wa Surūrāan So Allah will deliver them from the evil of that Day, and bestow on them freshness and joy,[76.11] فَوَقَاهُمُ ا ل لَّهُ شَرَّ ذَلِكَ ا لْيَوْمِ وَلَقَّاهُمْ نَضْرَةً وَسُرُوراً
Wa Jazāhum Bimā Şabarū Jann atan Wa Ĥar īrāan and reward them, for their steadfastness with paradise and garments of silk.[76.12] وَجَزَاهُم ْ بِمَا صَبَرُوا جَنَّ ةً وَحَر ِيراً
Muttaki'ī na Fīhā `Alá A l-'Arā 'iki Lā Yarawna Fīhā Sh am sāan Wa Lā Zam har īrāan There they shall be reclining upon high couches; they shall feel neither the scorching heat nor the biting cold.[76.13] مُتَّكِئِي نَ فِيهَا عَلَى ا لأَرَائِكِ لاَ يَرَوْنَ فِيهَا شَمْساً وَلاَ زَمْهَر ِيراً
Wa Dāniyatan `Alayhim Žilāluhā Wa Dh ullilat Quţūfuhā Tadh līlāan The trees of paradise will spread their shade around them, and their fruits will hang in clusters within their easy reach.[76.14] وَدَانِيَةً عَلَيْهِمْ ظِلاَلُهَا وَذُلِّلَتْ قُطُوفُهَا تَذْلِيلاً
Wa Yuţā fu `Alayhim Bi'ā niyatin Min Fiđđatin Wa 'Akwā bin Kānat Qawār ī r a They shall be served with silver dishes, goblets of crystal,[76.15] وَيُطَا فُ عَلَيْهِم ْ بِآنِيَةٍ مِن ْ فِضَّةٍ وَأَكْوَا بٍ كَا نَتْ قَوَار ِي ر َ
Qawār ī r a Min Fiđđatin Qaddarūhā Taq dīrāan and goblets made of crystal-clear silver, filled by their attendants in due measure.[76.16] قَوَار ِي ر َ مِن ْ فِضَّةٍ قَدَّرُوهَا تَقْ دِيراً
Wa Yusqawna Fīhā Ka'sāan Kā na Mizājuhā Zan jabīlāan And they will also be given to drink a cup of wine mixed with Zanjabïl (ginger-flavored water),[76.17] وَيُسْقَوْنَ فِيهَا كَأْساً كَا نَ مِزَاجُهَا زَن جَبِيلاً
`Aynāan Fīhā Tusamm á Salsabīlāan from a fountain, called Salsabïl.[76.18] عَيْن اً فِيهَا تُسَمَّ ى سَلْسَبِيلاً
Wa Yaţū fu `Alayhim Wildā nun Mukh alladū na 'Idh ā Ra'aytahum Ĥasib tahum Lu'ulu'uāan Man th ūrāan They shall be attended by boys graced with eternal youth: when you see them, they would seem like sprinkled pearls.[76.19] وَيَطُو فُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَا نٌ مُخَلَّدُو نَ إِذَا رَأَيْتَهُمْ حَسِبْ تَهُمْ لُؤْلُؤاً مَن ثُوراً
Wa 'Idh ā Ra'ayta Th amm a Ra'ayta Na`īmāan Wa Mulkāan Kabīrāan And which ever direction you will look, you will see blessings and the splendor of a great Kingdom.[76.20] وَإِذَا رَأَيْتَ ثَمّ َ رَأَيْتَ نَعِيماً وَمُلْكاً كَبِيراً
`Āliyahum Th iyā bu Sun dusin Kh uđrun Wa 'Istab raqun Wa Ĥullū 'Asāwir a Min Fiđđatin Wa Saqāhum Rabbuhum Sh arābāan Ţahūrāan They (the residents of paradise) shall be arrayed in the garments of fine green silk and rich brocade, and adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Rabb will give them pure wine to drink.[76.21] عَالِيَهُمْ ثِيَا بُ سُن دُسٍ خُضْرٌ وَإِسْتَبْ رَقٌ وَحُلُّو ا أَسَاوِر َ مِن ْ فِضَّةٍ وَسَقَاهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ شَرَاباً طَهُوراً
'Inn a Hādh ā Kā na Lakum Jazā 'an Wa Kā na Sa`yukum Mash kūrāan O believers, that’s how you will be rewarded, and your endeavors appreciated.[76.22] إِنّ َ هَذَا كَا نَ لَكُمْ جَزَا وَكَا نَ سَعْيُكُم ْ مَشْكُوراً
'Inn ā Naĥnu Nazzalnā `Alayka A l-Qur'ā na Tan zīlāan Surely, it is We Who have sent down this Qur’an to you through gradual revelations,[76.23] إِنَّ ا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا عَلَيْكَ ا لْقُرْآنَ تَنْ زِيلاً
Fāşbir Liĥukmi Rabbika Wa Lā Tuţi` Minhum 'Ā th imāan 'Aw Kafūrāan therefore, await with patience the command of your Rabb and do not yield to any sinner or disbeliever from among the unbelievers.[76.24] فَاصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ وَلاَ تُطِعْ مِنْهُمْ آثِماً أَوْ كَفُوراً
Wa A dh kur A sma Rabbika Bukratan Wa 'Aşīlāan Glorify the name of your Rabb morning and evening;[76.25] وَاذْكُرْ ا سْمَ رَبِّكَ بُكْرَةً وَأَصِيلاً
Wa Mina A l-Layli Fāsjud Lahu Wa Sabbiĥhu Laylāan Ţawīlāan prostrate before Him at night and glorify Him during the long hours of night.[76.26] وَمِنَ ا ل لَّيْلِ فَا سْجُد ْ لَهُُوَسَبِّحْهُ لَيْلاً طَوِيلاً
'Inn a Hā 'uulā ' Yuĥibbū na A l-`Ājilata Wa Yadh arū na Warā 'ahum Yawmāan Th aqīlāan These unbelievers love the transitory life of this world and neglect the heavy Day that is coming ahead.[76.27] إِنّ َ هَاؤُلاَء يُحِبُّو نَ ا لْعَاجِلَةَ وَيَذَرُو نَ وَرَاءَهُمْ يَوْماً ثَقِيلاً
Naĥnu Kh alaq nāhum Wa Sh adad nā 'Asrahum Wa 'Idh ā Sh i'nā Baddalnā 'Am th ālahum Tab dīlāan It is We Who created them and made their joints strong; but if We please We can replace them with others like them through a change.[76.28] نَحْنُ خَلَقْ نَاهُمْ وَشَدَد ْنَا أَسْرَهُمْ وَإِذَا شِئْنَا بَدَّلْنَا أَمْثَالَهُمْ تَبْ دِيلاً
'Inn a Hadh ihi Tadh kiratun Faman Sh ā 'a A ttakh adh a 'Ilá Rabbihi Sabīlāan This is indeed an admonition, so let him who will, adopt The Way to his Rabb,[76.29] إِنّ َ هَذِهِِ تَذْكِرَةٌ فَمَن ْ شَا ءَ ا تَّخَذَ إِلَى رَبِّهِِ سَبِيلاً
Wa Mā Tash ā 'ū na 'Illā 'An Yash ā 'a A l-Lahu 'Inn a A l-Laha Kā na `Alīmāan Ĥakīmāan but you cannot will, except by the will of Allah. Surely Allah is All-Knowledgeable, All-Wise.[76.30] وَمَا تَشَاءُو نَ إِلاَّ أَن ْ يَشَا ءَ ا ل لَّهُ إِنّ َ ا ل لَّهَ كَا نَ عَلِيماً حَكِيماً
Yud kh ilu Man Yash ā 'u Fī Raĥmatihi Wa A ž-Žālimī na 'A`adda Lahum `Adh ābāan 'Alīmāan He admits to His mercy whom He wills, and for the wrongdoers He has prepared a painful punishment.[76.31] يُد ْخِلُ مَن ْ يَشَا ءُ فِي رَحْمَتِهِِ وَال ظَّالِمِي نَ أَعَدَّ لَهُمْ عَذَاباً أَلِيماً
