Qul 'Ū ĥiya 'Ilayya 'Ann ahu A stama`a Nafarun Mina A l-Jinn i Faqālū 'Inn ā Sami`nā Qur'ā nāan `Ajabāan O Prophet say: “It has been revealed to me that a band of jinns listened to the Qur’an, then returned to their folk and said: ‘We have heard a wonderful Qur’an [72.1] قُلْ أُ وحِيَ إِلَيَّ أَنَّ هُ ا سْتَمَعَ نَفَرٌ مِنَ ا لْجِنّ ِ فَقَالُو ا إِنَّ ا سَمِعْنَا قُرْآن اً عَجَباً
Yahdī 'Ilá A r-Rush di Fa'ā mann ā Bihi Wa Lan Nush r ika Birabbinā 'Aĥadāan which guides to the Right Way. We have believed in it and henceforth shall worship none besides Our Rabb.[72.2] يَهْدِي إِلَى ا ل رُّشْدِ فَآمَنَّ ا بِهِِ وَلَن ْ نُشْر ِكَ بِرَبِّنَا أَحَداً
Wa 'Ann ahu Ta`ālá Jaddu Rabbinā Mā A ttakh adh a Şāĥibatan Wa Lā Waladāan Surely our Rabb's Majesty is exalted: He has neither taken a wife nor a son.[72.3] وَأَنَّ هُُتَعَالَى جَدُّ رَبِّنَا مَا ا تَّخَذَ صَاحِبَةً وَلاَ وَلَداً
Wa 'Ann ahu Kā na Yaqū lu Safīhunā `Alá A l-Lahi Sh aţaţāan Some who are foolish among us have been uttering atrocious lies about Allah,[72.4] وَأَنَّ هُُكَا نَ يَقُو لُ سَفِيهُنَا عَلَى ا ل لَّهِ شَطَطاً
Wa 'Ann ā Žanann ā 'An Lan Taqū la A l-'In su Wa A l-Jinn u `Alá A l-Lahi Kadh ibāan and we had presumed that no man or jinn could tell a lie concerning Allah.[72.5] وَأَنَّ ا ظَنَنَّ ا أَن ْ لَن ْ تَقُو لَ ا لإِن سُ وَالْجِنّ ُ عَلَى ا ل لَّهِ كَذِباً
Wa 'Ann ahu Kā na R ijā lun Mina A l-'In si Ya`ūdh ū na Bir ijā lin Mina A l-Jinn i Fazādūhum Rahaqāan Indeed, some individuals among mankind used to seek protection with some individuals among the jinns, so they caused such jinns to become more arrogant,[72.6] وَأَنَّ هُُكَا نَ ر ِجَا لٌ مِنَ ا لإِن سِ يَعُوذُو نَ بِر ِجَا لٍ مِنَ ا لْجِنّ ِ فَزَادُوهُمْ رَهَقاً
Wa 'Ann ahum Žann ū Kamā Žanan tum 'An Lan Yab `ath a A l-Lahu 'Aĥadāan as a result, they presumed as you presumed that Allah would not appoint anyone as a Rasool.[72.7] وَأَنَّ هُمْ ظَنُّ وا كَمَا ظَنَن تُمْ أَن ْ لَن ْ يَبْ عَثَ ا ل لَّهُ أَحَداً
Wa 'Ann ā Lamasnā A s-Samā 'a Fawajad nāhā Muli'at Ĥarasāan Sh adīdāan Wa Sh uhubāan We searched the heaven, and found it filled with stern guards and shooting stars.[72.8] وَأَنَّ ا لَمَسْنَا ا ل سَّمَا ءَ فَوَجَد ْنَاهَا مُلِئَتْ حَرَساً شَدِيداً وَشُهُباً
Wa 'Ann ā Kunn ā Naq `udu Minhā Maqā`ida Lilssam `i Faman Yastami`i A l-'Ā na Yajid Lahu Sh ihābāan Raşadāan Before this we used to find a seat in heaven for eavesdropping, but now eavesdroppers find shooting stars lying in ambush for them.[72.9] وَأَنَّ ا كُنَّ ا نَقْ عُدُ مِنْهَا مَقَاعِدَ لِلسَّمْعِ فَمَن ْ يَسْتَمِعِ ا لآنَ يَجِد ْ لَهُُشِهَاباً رَصَداً
Wa 'Ann ā Lā Nad r ī 'Ash arrun 'Ur ī da Biman Fī A l-'Arđi 'Am 'Arā da Bihim Rabbuhum Rash adāan We did not know whether an evil was intended for the dwellers of the earth or whether their Rabb intended to guide them.[72.10] وَأَنَّ ا لاَ نَد ْر ِي أَشَرٌّ أُر ِي دَ بِمَن ْ فِي ا لأَرْضِ أَمْ أَرَا دَ بِهِمْ رَبُّهُمْ رَشَداً
Wa 'Ann ā Minn ā A ş-Şāliĥū na Wa Minn ā Dū na Dh ālika Kunn ā Ţarā 'iqa Qidadāan There are some among us who are righteous and some to the contrary; we have sects following different ways.[72.11] وَأَنَّ ا مِنَّ ا ا ل صَّالِحُو نَ وَمِنَّ ا دُو نَ ذَلِكَ كُنَّ ا طَرَائِقَ قِدَداً
Wa 'Ann ā Žanann ā 'An Lan Nu`jiza A l-Laha Fī A l-'Arđi Wa Lan Nu`jizahu Harabāan We know that we can neither frustrate Allah in the earth nor frustrate Him by flight.[72.12] وَأَنَّ ا ظَنَنَّ ا أَن ْ لَن ْ نُعجِزَ ا ل لَّهَ فِي ا لأَرْضِ وَلَن ْ نُعْجِزَهُُهَرَباً
Wa 'Ann ā Lamm ā Sami`nā A l-Hudá 'Ā mann ā Bihi Faman Yu'umin Birabbihi Falā Yakh ā fu Bakh sāan Wa Lā Rahaqāan As for us, when we listened to the guidance, we believed in it; so he that believes in his Rabb shall have neither the fear of loss nor of injustice.[72.13] وَأَنَّ ا لَمَّ ا سَمِعْنَا ا لْهُدَى آمَنَّ ا بِهِِ فَمَن ْ يُؤْمِن ْ بِرَبِّهِِ فَلاَ يَخَا فُ بَخْساً وَلاَ رَهَقاً
Wa 'Ann ā Minn ā A l-Muslimū na Wa Minn ā A l-Qāsiţū na Faman 'Aslama Fa'ū lā 'ika Taĥarraw Rash adāan Surely there are some among us who are Muslims and some who are deviators from the truth. Those who have adopted Islam have found the way to salvation,[72.14] وَأَنَّ ا مِنَّ ا ا لْمُسْلِمُو نَ وَمِنَّ ا ا لْقَاسِطُو نَ فَمَنْ أَسْلَمَ فَأُ وْلَائِكَ تَحَرَّوْا رَشَداً
Wa 'Amm ā A l-Qāsiţū na Fakānū Lijahann ama Ĥaţabāan and those who have deviated from the truth will become the fuel for hell."[72.15] وَأَمَّ ا ا لْقَاسِطُو نَ فَكَانُوا لِجَهَنَّ مَ حَطَباً
Wa 'Allawi A staqāmū `Alá A ţ -Ţar īqati L'asqaynāhum Mā 'an Gh adaqāan O Prophet, say: “If they (the Makkans) had steadfastly followed the Right Way, We would have certainly vouchsafed them abundant water,[72.16] وَأَلَّوِ ا سْتَقَامُوا عَلَى ا ل طَّر ِيقَةِ لأَسْقَيْنَاهُم ْ مَا ءً غَدَقاً
Linaftinahum Fī hi Wa Man Yu`r iđ `An Dh ikr i Rabbihi Yasluk/hu `Adh ābāan Şa`adāan and thereby put them to test. He that gives no heed to the warnings of his Rabb, shall be made to undergo severe punishment.[72.17] لِنَفْتِنَهُمْ فِي هِِ وَمَن ْ يُعْر ِضْ عَن ْ ذِكْر ِ رَبِّهِِ يَسْلُكْهُ عَذَاباً صَعَداً
Wa 'Ann a A l-Masājida Lillahi Falā Tad `ū Ma`a A l-Lahi 'Aĥadāan Mosques are built for Allah’s worship; therefore, invoke not anyone along with Allah.[72.18] وَأَنّ َ ا لْمَسَاجِدَ لِلَّهِ فَلاَ تَد ْعُوا مَعَ ا ل لَّهِ أَحَداً
Wa 'Ann ahu Lamm ā Qā ma `Ab du A l-Lahi Yad `ū hu Kādū Yakūnū na `Alayhi Libadāan Yet, when Allah’s servant Muhammad stood up to invoke Him, they (unbelievers) were ready to attack him."[72.19] وَأَنَّ هُُلَمَّ ا قَا مَ عَبْ دُ ا ل لَّهِ يَد ْعُو هُُكَا دُوا يَكُونُو نَ عَلَيْهِ لِبَداً
Qul 'Inn amā 'Ad `ū Rabbī Wa Lā 'Ush r iku Bihi 'Aĥadāan O Prophet, say: “I pray only to my Rabb and worship none besides Him."[72.20] قُلْ إِنَّ مَا أَد ْعُو رَبِّي وَلاَ أُشْر ِكُ بِهِ أَحَداً
Qul 'Inn ī Lā 'Am liku Lakum Đarrāan Wa Lā Rash adāan Say: “I have no control to cause harm or bring you to the Right Way."[72.21] قُلْ إِنِّ ي لاَ أَمْلِكُ لَكُمْ ضَرّاً وَلاَ رَشَداً
Qul 'Inn ī Lan Yujīranī Mina A l-Lahi 'Aĥadun Wa Lan 'Ajida Min Dūnihi Multaĥadāan Say: “If I were to disobey Him, no one can protect me from Allah, nor can I find any refuge besides Him.[72.22] قُلْ إِنِّ ي لَن ْ يُجِيرَنِي مِنَ ا ل لَّهِ أَحَدٌ وَلَنْ أَجِدَ مِن ْ دُونِهِِ مُلْتَحَداً
'Illā Balāgh āan Mina A l-Lahi Wa R isālātihi Wa Man Ya`şi A l-Laha Wa Rasūlahu Fa'inn a Lahu Nā ra Jahann ama Kh ālidī na Fīhā 'Abadāan My mission is only to deliver what I receive from Allah and make His messages known. As for those who disobey Allah and His Rasool, they shall be put in the fire of hell to live therein forever."[72.23] إِلاَّ بَلاَغاً مِنَ ا ل لَّهِ وَر ِسَالاَتِهِِ وَمَن ْ يَعْصِ ا ل لَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُُفَإِنّ َ لَهُُنَا رَ جَهَنَّ مَ خَالِدِي نَ فِيهَا أَبَداً
Ĥattá 'Idh ā Ra'aw Mā Yū`adū na Fasaya`lamū na Man 'Ađ`afu Nāşirāan Wa 'Aqallu `Adadāan When they shall see the punishment that they are being threatened with, then they shall find out whose helpers are weak and whose supporters are fewer in number.[72.24] حَتَّى إِذَا رَأَوْا مَا يُوعَدُو نَ فَسَيَعْلَمُو نَ مَنْ أَضْعَفُ نَاصِراً وَأَقَلُّ عَدَداً
Qul 'In 'Ad r ī 'Aqar ī bun Mā Tū`adū na 'Am Yaj `alu Lahu Rabbī 'Amadāan Say: “I do not know whether the punishment that you are threatened with is near or whether my Rabb has set for it a distant term.[72.25] قُلْ إِنْ أَد ْر ِي أَقَر ِي بٌ مَا تُوعَدُو نَ أَمْ يَجْ عَلُ لَهُُرَبِّي أَمَداً
`Ālimu A l-Gh aybi Falā Yužhir u `Alá Gh aybihi 'Aĥadāan He Alone knows the unseen. He does not reveal His secrets to anyone[72.26] عَالِمُ ا لْغَيْبِ فَلاَ يُظْهِر ُعَلَى غَيْبِهِ أَحَداً
'Illā Mani A rtađá Min Rasū lin Fa'inn ahu Yasluku Min Bayni Yadayhi Wa Min Kh alfihi Raşadāan except to the Rasool whom He may choose for that purpose, and then He appoints guards, who march before him and behind him,[72.27] إِلاَّ مَنِ ا رْتَضَى مِن ْ رَسُو لٍ فَإِنَّ هُُيَسْلُكُ مِن ْ بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِِ رَصَداً
Liya`lama 'An Qad 'Ab lagh ū R isālā ti Rabbihim Wa 'Aĥā ţa Bimā Ladayhim Wa 'Aĥşá Kulla Sh ay'in `Adadāan that He may know that they (the Rasools) have indeed delivered the messages of their Rabb. He also encompasses all their surroundings and keeps a count of each and everything."[72.28] لِيَعْلَمَ أَن ْ قَد ْ أَبْ لَغُوا ر ِسَالاَتِ رَبِّهِمْ وَأَحَا طَ بِمَا لَدَيْهِمْ وَأَحْصَى كُلَّ شَيْءٍ عَدَداً
