Yā -Sīn Yم Sïn.[36.1] يَا-سِين
Wa A l-Qur'ā ni A l-Ĥakī mi I swear by the Qur’an which is full of Wisdom[36.2] وَالْقُرْآنِ ا لْحَكِي مِ
'Inn aka Lamina A l-Mursalī na that you are indeed one of the Rasools who are sent[36.3] إِنَّ كَ لَمِنَ ا لْمُرْسَلِي نَ
`Alá Şirāţin Mustaqī min on a Straight Way.[36.4] عَلَى صِرَا طٍ مُسْتَقِي مٍ
Tan zī la A l-`Azī zi A r-Raĥī mi This Qur’an is revealed by the Almighty, the Merciful.[36.5] تَن زِي لَ ا لْعَزِي زِ ا ل رَّحِي مِ
Litun dh ir a Qawmāan Mā 'Un dh ir a 'Ā bā 'uuhum Fahum Gh āfilū na So that you may warn a people whose forefathers were not warned, hence they are unaware.[36.6] لِتُن ذِر َ قَوْماً مَا أُن ذِر َ آبَاؤُهُمْ فَهُمْ غَافِلُو نَ
Laqad Ĥaqqa A l-Qawlu `Alá 'Akth ar ihim Fahum Lā Yu'uminū na In fact, the Word has been proven true against most of them who are arrogant; so they do not believe.[36.7] لَقَد ْ حَقَّ ا لْقَوْلُ عَلَى أَكْثَر ِهِمْ فَهُمْ لاَ يُؤْمِنُو نَ
'Inn ā Ja`alnā Fī 'A`nāqihim 'Agh lālāan Fahiya 'Ilá A l-'Adh qā ni Fahum Muq maĥū na Since they have chosen to neglect Our revelations, We have thus put yokes round their necks right up to their chins so their heads are raised up,[36.8] إِنَّ ا جَعَلْنَا فِي أَعْنَاقِهِمْ أَغْلاَلاً فَهِيَ إِلَى ا لأَذْقَا نِ فَهُم ْ مُقْ مَحُو نَ
Wa Ja`alnā Min Bayni 'Aydīhim Saddāan Wa Min Kh alfihim Saddāan Fa'agh sh aynāhum Fahum Lā Yub şirū na and We have put a barrier in front of them and a barrier behind them, and then We have covered them over so they cannot see.[36.9] وَجَعَلْنَا مِن ْ بَيْنِ أَيْدِيهِمْ سَدّاً وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِمْ سَدّاً فَأَغْشَيْنَاهُمْ فَهُمْ لاَ يُبْ صِرُو نَ
Wa Sawā 'un `Alayhim 'A'an dh artahum 'Am Lam Tun dh ir hum Lā Yu'uminū na It is the same for them whether you warn them or warn them not, they will not believe.[36.10] وَسَوَا ءٌ عَلَيْهِمْ أَأَن ذَرْتَهُمْ أَمْ لَمْ تُن ذِرْهُمْ لاَ يُؤْمِنُو نَ
'Inn amā Tun dh ir u Mani A ttaba`a A dh -Dh ikra Wa Kh ash iya A r-Raĥmana Bil-Gh aybi Fabash sh ir hu Bimagh firatin Wa 'Aj r in Kar ī min You can only warn those who follow the reminder and fear the Compassionate (Allah), though they cannot see Him. To such people give good news of forgiveness and a generous reward.[36.11] إِنَّ مَا تُن ذِر ُمَنِ ا تَّبَعَ ا ل ذِّكْرَ وَخَشِيَ ا ل رَّحْمَنَ بِا لْغَيْبِ فَبَشِّرْهُ بِمَغْفِرَةٍ وَأَجْ رٍ كَر ِي مٍ
'Inn ā Naĥnu Nuĥyi A l-Mawtá Wa Naktubu Mā Qaddamū Wa 'Ā th ārahum Wa Kulla Sh ay'in 'Ĥşaynā hu Fī 'Imā min Mubī nin Surely We shall resurrect the dead, We are recording all that they are sending ahead and that they are leaving behind. We have recorded everything in an open ledger.[36.12] إِنَّ ا نَحْنُ نُحْيِ ا لْمَوْتَى وَنَكْتُبُ مَا قَدَّمُوا وَآثَارَهُمْ وَكُلَّ شَيْءٍ أحْصَيْنَا هُُفِي إِمَا مٍ مُبِي نٍ
Wa A đr ib Lahum Math alāan 'Aşĥā ba A l-Qaryati 'Idh Jā 'ahā A l-Mursalū na Narrate to them the example of the people of a certain town to whom the Rasools came.[36.13] وَاضْر ِب ْ لَهُم ْ مَثَلاً أَصْحَا بَ ا لْقَرْيَةِ إِذْ جَاءَهَا ا لْمُرْسَلُو نَ
'Idh 'Arsalnā 'Ilayhimu A th nayni Fakadh dh abūhumā Fa`azzaznā Bith ālith in Faqālū 'Inn ā 'Ilaykum Mursalū na At first We sent to them two Rasools, but when they rejected both, We strengthened them with a third and they all said: “Surely we have been sent to you as Rasools.”[36.14] إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَا إِلَيْهِمُ ا ثْنَيْنِ فَكَذَّبُوهُمَا فَعَزَّزْنَا بِثَالِثٍ فَقَالُو ا إِنَّ ا إِلَيْكُم ْ مُرْسَلُو نَ
Qālū Mā 'An tum 'Illā Bash arun Mith lunā Wa Mā 'An zala A r-Raĥmā nu Min Sh ay'in 'In 'An tum 'Illā Takdh ibū na But the people replied: “You are but humans like us. The Compassionate (Allah) has revealed nothing; you are surely lying.”[36.15] قَالُوا مَا أَنْ تُمْ إِلاَّ بَشَرٌ مِثْلُنَا وَمَا أَن زَلَ ا ل رَّحْمَنُ مِن ْ شَيْءٍ إِنْ أَنْ تُمْ إِلاَّ تَكْذِبُو نَ
Qālū Rabbunā Ya`lamu 'Inn ā 'Ilaykum Lamursalū na They said: “Our Rabb knows that we have indeed been sent as Rasools towards you[36.16] قَالُوا رَبُّنَا يَعْلَمُ إِنَّ ا إِلَيْكُمْ لَمُرْسَلُو نَ
Wa Mā `Alaynā 'Illā A l-Balāgh u A l-Mubī nu and our only duty is to convey His message plainly.”[36.17] وَمَا عَلَيْنَا إِلاَّ ا لْبَلاَغُ ا لْمُبِي نُ
Qālū 'Inn ā Taţayyarnā Bikum La'in Lam Tan tahū Lanarjumann akum Wa Layamassann akum Minn ā `Adh ā bun 'Alī mun The people replied: “We regard you as an evil omen for us. Desist, or we will either stone you or you will receive from us a painful punishment.”[36.18] قَالُو ا إِنَّ ا تَطَيَّرْنَا بِكُمْ لَئِن ْ لَمْ تَن تَهُوا لَنَرْجُمَنَّ كُمْ وَلَيَمَسَّنَّ كُم ْ مِنَّ ا عَذَا بٌ أَلِي مٌ
Qālū Ţā 'irukum Ma`akum 'A'in Dh ukkir tum Bal 'An tum Qawmun Musr ifū na They said: “Your evil omens lie within yourselves. Do you say this because you are being admonished? Indeed you are a nation of transgressors.”[36.19] قَالُوا طَائِرُكُم ْ مَعَكُمْ أَئِن ْ ذُكِّرْتُم ْ بَلْ أَنْ تُمْ قَوْمٌ مُسْر ِفُو نَ
Wa Jā 'a Min 'Aq şá A l-Madīnati Rajulun Yas`á Qā la Yā Qawmi A ttabi`ū A l-Mursalī na In the meantime a man came running from the remote part of the City and said: “O my people! Follow these Rasools.[36.20] وَجَا ءَ مِنْ أَقْ صَى ا لْمَدِينَةِ رَجُلٌ يَسْعَى قَا لَ يَاقَوْمِ ا تَّبِعُوا ا لْمُرْسَلِي نَ
A ttabi`ū Man Lā Yas'alukum 'Aj rāan Wa Hum Muhtadū na Follow the ones who ask no reward of you and are rightly guided."[36.21] ا تَّبِعُوا مَن ْ لاَ يَسْأَلُكُمْ أَجْ راً وَهُم ْ مُهْتَدُو نَ
Wa Mā Liya Lā 'A`budu A l-Ladh ī Faţaranī Wa 'Ilayhi Turja`ū na It would not be justifiable on my part if I do not worship Him Who has created me and to Whom you shall be brought back.[36.22] وَمَا لِيَ لاَ أَعْبُدُ ا لَّذِي فَطَرَنِي وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُو نَ
'A'attakh idh u Min Dūnihi 'Ā lihatan 'In Yur id ni A r-Raĥmā nu Biđurr in Lā Tugh ni `Ann ī Sh afā`atuhum Sh ay'ā an Wa Lā Yun qidh ū ni Should I take other gods besides Him? If the Compassionate (Allah) should intend to harm me, their intercession will avail me nothing, nor will they be able to save me.[36.23] أَأَتَّخِذُ مِن ْ دُونِهِ آلِهَةً إِن ْ يُر ِد ْنِ ا ل رَّحْمَنُ بِضُرٍّ لاَ تُغْنِ عَنِّ ي شَفَاعَتُهُمْ شَيْئاً وَلاَ يُن قِذُو نِ
'Inn ī 'Idh āan Lafī Đalā lin Mubī nin If I do so, I would indeed be in manifest error.[36.24] إِنِّ ي إِذاً لَفِي ضَلاَلٍ مُبِي نٍ
'Inn ī 'Ā man tu Birabbikum Fāsma`ū ni Surely I believe in your Rabb, so listen to me.”[36.25] إِنِّ ي آمَنْ تُ بِرَبِّكُمْ فَا سْمَعُو نِ
Qī la A d kh uli A l-Jann ata Qā la Yā Layta Qawmī Ya`lamū na Consequently they killed that man and it was said to him: “Enter paradise.” He exclaimed: “Would that my people knew that what I know![36.26] قِي لَ ا د ْخُلِ ا لْجَنَّ ةَ قَا لَ يَالَ يْتَ قَوْمِي يَعْلَمُو نَ
Bimā Gh afara Lī Rabbī Wa Ja`alanī Mina A l-Mukramī na How my Rabb has granted me forgiveness and included me among the honored ones.”[36.27] بِمَا غَفَرَ لِي رَبِّي وَجَعَلَنِي مِنَ ا لْمُكْرَمِي نَ
Wa Mā 'An zalnā `Alá Qawmihi Min Ba`dihi Min Jun din Mina A s-Samā 'i Wa Mā Kunn ā Mun zilī na After that We did not send any army against his people from heaven, nor was it necessary to do so.[36.28] وَمَا أَن زَلْنَا عَلَى قَوْمِهِِ مِن ْ بَعْدِهِِ مِن ْ جُن دٍ مِنَ ا ل سَّمَا ءِ وَمَا كُنَّ ا مُن زِلِي نَ
'In Kānat 'Illā Şayĥatan Wāĥidatan Fa'idh ā Hum Kh āmidū na It was nothing but a single blast and they all became extinct.[36.29] إِن ْ كَا نَتْ إِلاَّ صَيْحَةً وَاحِدَةً فَإِذَا هُمْ خَامِدُو نَ
Yā Ĥasratan `Alá A l-`Ibā di Mā Ya'tīhim Min Rasū lin 'Illā Kānū Bihi Yastahzi'ū n Alas for My bondsmen! Whenever there came to them a Rasool they mocked at him.[36.30] يَاحَسْرَةً عَلَى ا لْعِبَا دِ مَا يَأْتِيهِم ْ مِن ْ رَسُو لٍ إِلاَّ كَا نُوا بِهِِ يَسْتَهْزِئُ ون
'Alam Yaraw Kam 'Ahlaknā Qab lahum Mina A l-Qurū ni 'Ann ahum 'Ilayhim Lā Yarji`ū na Do they not see how many generations We have destroyed before them who will never return to them?[36.31] أَلَمْ يَرَوْا كَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْ لَهُم ْ مِنَ ا لْقُرُو نِ أَنَّ هُمْ إِلَيْهِمْ لاَ يَرْجِعُو نَ
Wa 'In Kullun Lamm ā Jamī `un Ladaynā Muĥđarū na While each one of them will be brought before Us on the Day of Judgment.[36.32] وَإِن ْ كُلّ ٌ لَمَّ ا جَمِي ع ٌ لَدَيْنَا مُحْضَرُو نَ
Wa 'Ā yatun Lahumu A l-'Arđu A l-Maytatu 'Aĥyaynāhā Wa 'Akh raj nā Minhā Ĥabbāan Faminhu Ya'kulū na The dead land may serve as a sign for them; We give it life and produce from it grain for them, which they eat.[36.33] وَآيَة ٌ لَهُمُ ا لأَرْضُ ا لْمَيْتَةُ أَحْيَيْنَاهَا وَأَخْرَجْ نَا مِنْهَا حَبّاً فَمِنْهُ يَأْكُلُو نَ
Wa Ja`alnā Fīhā Jann ā tin Min Nakh ī lin Wa 'A`nā bin Wa Fajjarnā Fīhā Mina A l-`Uyū ni We also produce from it gardens with date-palms and vines, and We cause springs to gush forth from it,[36.34] وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا جَنّ َا تٍ مِن ْ نَخِي لٍ وَأَعْنَا بٍ وَفَجَّرْنَا فِيهَا مِنَ ا لْعُيُو نِ
Liya'kulū Min Th amar ihi Wa Mā `Amilat/hu 'Aydīhim 'Afalā Yash kurū na so that they may enjoy the fruits thereof. It was not their hands that made all this; should they not then give thanks?[36.35] لِيَأْكُلُوا مِن ْ ثَمَر ِهِِ وَمَا عَمِلَتْهُ أَيْدِيهِمْ أَفَلاَ يَشْكُرُو نَ
Sub ĥā na A l-Ladh ī Kh alaqa A l-'Azwā ja Kullahā Mimm ā Tun bitu A l-'Arđu Wa Min 'An fusihim Wa Mimm ā Lā Ya`lamū na Glory be to Allah Who created all things in pairs: the plants of the earth, mankind themselves and other living things which they do not know.[36.36] سُبْ حَا نَ ا لَّذِي خَلَقَ ا لأَزْوَا جَ كُلَّهَا مِمَّ ا تُنْ بِتُ ا لأَرْضُ وَمِنْ أَن فُسِهِمْ وَمِمَّ ا لاَ يَعْلَمُو نَ
Wa 'Ā yatun Lahumu A l-Laylu Naslakh u Minhu A n -Nahā ra Fa'idh ā Hum Mužlimū na Another sign for them is the night; when We withdraw the daylight from it, and behold they are in darkness.[36.37] وَآيَة ٌ لَهُمُ ا ل لَّيْلُ نَسْلَخُ مِنْهُ ا ل نَّ هَا رَ فَإِذَا هُم ْ مُظْلِمُو نَ
Wa A sh -Sh am su Taj r ī Limustaqarr in Lahā Dh ālika Taq dī r u A l-`Azī zi A l-`Alī mi The sun runs its course, this course is predetermined for it by the Almighty, the All-Knowing.[36.38] وَالشَّمْسُ تَجْ ر ِي لِمُسْتَقَرٍّ لَهَا ذَلِكَ تَقْ دِي ر ُا لْعَزِي زِ ا لْعَلِي مِ
Wa A l-Qamara Qaddarnā hu Manāzila Ĥattá `Ā da Kāl`urjū ni A l-Qadī mi As for the moon, We have designed phases for it till it again becomes like an old dry palm branch.[36.39] وَالْقَمَرَ قَدَّرْنَا هُُمَنَازِلَ حَتَّى عَا دَ كَا لْعُرْجُو نِ ا لْقَدِي مِ
Lā A sh -Sh am su Yan bagh ī Lahā 'An Tud r ika A l-Qamara Wa Lā A l-Laylu Sābiqu A n -Nahā r i Wa Kullun Fī Falakin Yasbaĥū na Neither it is possible for the sun to overtake the moon, nor for the night to outstrip the day: each floats along in its own orbit.[36.40] لاَ ا ل شَّمْسُ يَنْ بَغِي لَهَا أَن ْ تُد ْر ِكَ ا لْقَمَرَ وَلاَ ا ل لَّيْلُ سَابِقُ ا ل نَّ هَا ر ِ وَكُلٌّ فِي فَلَكٍ يَسْبَحُو نَ
Wa 'Ā yatun Lahum 'Ann ā Ĥamalnā Dh urr īyatahum Fī A l-Fulki A l-Mash ĥū ni Another sign for them is how We carried their race through the flood in the laden ark;[36.41] وَآيَة ٌ لَهُمْ أَنَّ ا حَمَلْنَا ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ فِي ا لْفُلْكِ ا لْمَشْحُو نِ
Wa Kh alaq nā Lahum Min Mith lihi Mā Yarkabū na and similar vessels We have made for them on which they ride.[36.42] وَخَلَقْ نَا لَهُم ْ مِن ْ مِثْلِهِِ مَا يَرْكَبُو نَ
Wa 'In Nash a' Nugh r iq hum Falā Şar īkh a Lahum Wa Lā Hum Yun qadh ū na If We want, We can drown them, and they will have no helper to save them, nor can they be rescued,[36.43] وَإِن ْ نَشَأْ نُغْر ِقْ هُمْ فَلاَ صَر ِي خَ لَهُمْ وَلاَ هُمْ يُن قَذُو نَ
'Illā Raĥmatan Minn ā Wa Matā`āan 'Ilá Ĥī nin except through Our mercy and unless We prolong their lives for a while.[36.44] إِلاَّ رَحْمَةً مِنَّ ا وَمَتَاعاً إِلَى حِي نٍ
Wa 'Idh ā Qī la Lahumu A ttaqū Mā Bayna 'Aydīkum Wa Mā Kh alfakum La`allakum Turĥamū na When it is said to them: “Have fear of that which is before you and that which is behind you, so that you may receive mercy,” they pay no heed.[36.45] وَإِذَا قِي لَ لَهُمُ ا تَّقُوا مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيكُمْ وَمَا خَلْفَكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُو نَ
Wa Mā Ta'tīhim Min 'Ā yatin Min 'Ā yā ti Rabbihim 'Illā Kānū `Anhā Mu`r iđī na Whenever any sign from the revelations of their Rabb comes to them, they turn away from it.[36.46] وَمَا تَأْتِيهِم ْ مِن ْ آيَةٍ مِن ْ آيَا تِ رَبِّهِمْ إِلاَّ كَا نُوا عَنْهَا مُعْر ِضِي نَ
Wa 'Idh ā Qī la Lahum 'An fiqū Mimm ā Razaqakumu A l-Lahu Qā la A l-Ladh ī na Kafarū Lilladh ī na 'Ā manū 'Anuţ `imu Man Law Yash ā 'u A l-Lahu 'Aţ `amahu 'In 'An tum 'Illā Fī Đalā lin Mubī nin Whenever they are asked: “Spend out of what Allah has given you.” The disbelievers say to the believers: “Should we feed those whom Allah can feed Himself if He so chooses? You are quite obviously in error!”[36.47] وَإِذَا قِي لَ لَهُمْ أَن فِقُوا مِمَّ ا رَزَقَكُمُ ا ل لَّهُ قَا لَ ا لَّذِي نَ كَفَرُوا لِلَّذِي نَ آمَنُو ا أَنُطْ عِمُ مَن ْ لَوْ يَشَا ءُ ا ل لَّهُ أَطْ عَمَهُ~ ُ إِنْ أَنْ تُمْ إِلاَّ فِي ضَلاَلٍ مُبِي نٍ
Wa Yaqūlū na Matá Hādh ā A l-Wa`du 'In Kun tum Şādiqī na Further, they say: “When will this promise of resurrection come to pass, if what you say is true?”[36.48] وَيَقُولُو نَ مَتَى هَذَا ا لْوَعْدُ إِن ْ كُن تُمْ صَادِقِي نَ
Mā Yan žurū na 'Illā Şayĥatan Wāĥidatan Ta'kh udh uhum Wa Hum Yakh işşimū na In fact what they are waiting for is a single blast, which will seize them while they are yet disputing among themselves in their worldly affairs.[36.49] مَا يَن ظُرُو نَ إِلاَّ صَيْحَةً وَاحِدَةً تَأْخُذُهُمْ وَهُمْ يَخِصِّمُو نَ
Falā Yastaţī`ū na Tawşiyatan Wa Lā 'Ilá 'Ahlihim Yarji`ū na Then, neither they will be able to make a will, nor be able to return to their families.[36.50] فَلاَ يَسْتَطِيعُو نَ تَوْصِيَةً وَلاَ إِلَى أَهْلِهِمْ يَرْجِعُو نَ
Wa Nufikh a Fī A ş-Şū r i Fa'idh ā Hum Mina A l-'Aj dāth i 'Ilá Rabbihim Yan silū na Then a trumpet shall be blown and, behold, they will rise up from their graves and hasten to their Rabb.[36.51] وَنُفِخَ فِي ا ل صُّو ر ِ فَإِذَا هُم ْ مِنَ ا لأَجْ دَا ثِ إِلَى رَبِّهِمْ يَن سِلُو نَ
Qālū Yā Waylanā Man Ba`ath anā Min Marqadinā Hādh ā Mā Wa`ada A r-Raĥmā nu Wa Şadaqa A l-Mursalū na They will say: “Oh, Woe to us! Who has raised us up from our graves? They will be told: “This is what the Compassionate (Allah) had promised and true was the word of the Rasools."[36.52] قَالُوا يَاوَيْلَنَا مَن ْ بَعَثَنَا مِن ْ مَرْقَدِنَا هَذَا مَا وَعَدَ ا ل رَّحْمَنُ وَصَدَقَ ا لْمُرْسَلُو نَ
'In Kānat 'Illā Şayĥatan Wāĥidatan Fa'idh ā Hum Jamī `un Ladaynā Muĥđarū na It will be no more than a single blast, and then they will all be gathered before Us.[36.53] إِن ْ كَا نَتْ إِلاَّ صَيْحَةً وَاحِدَةً فَإِذَا هُمْ جَمِي ع ٌ لَدَيْنَا مُحْضَرُو نَ
Fālyawma Lā Tužlamu Nafsun Sh ay'ā an Wa Lā Tuj zawna 'Illā Mā Kun tum Ta`malū na On that Day no soul will suffer the least injustice and you shall be rewarded according to your deeds.[36.54] فَالْيَوْمَ لاَ تُظْلَمُ نَفْسٌ شَيْئاً وَلاَ تُجْ زَوْنَ إِلاَّ مَا كُن تُمْ تَعْمَلُو نَ
'Inn a 'Aşĥā ba A l-Jann ati A l-Yawma Fī Sh ugh ulin Fākihū na Surely, on that Day, the residents of paradise will be busy with their joy;[36.55] إِنّ َ أَصْحَا بَ ا لْجَنَّ ةِ ا لْيَوْمَ فِي شُغُلٍ فَا كِهُو نَ
Hum Wa 'Azwājuhum Fī Žilā lin `Alá A l-'Arā 'iki Muttaki'ū na they and their spouses will be in shady groves reclining on soft couches.[36.56] هُمْ وَأَزْوَاجُهُمْ فِي ظِلاَلٍ عَلَى ا لأَرَائِكِ مُتَّكِئُو نَ
Lahum Fīhā Fākihatun Wa Lahum Mā Yadda`ū na They will have all kinds of fruit and they will get whatever they call for;[36.57] لَهُمْ فِيهَا فَا كِهَةٌ وَلَهُم ْ مَا يَدَّعُو نَ
Salā mun Qawlāan Min Rabbin Raĥī min they will be greeted with the word “Salaam (Peace)” from the Lord of Mercy (Allah).[36.58] سَلاَمٌ قَوْلاً مِن ْ رَبٍّ رَحِي مٍ
Wa A m tāzū A l-Yawma 'Ayyuhā A l-Muj r imū na While to the sinners He will say: “Get aside today, you criminals![36.59] وَامْتَازُوا ا لْيَوْمَ أَيُّهَا ا لْمُجْ ر ِمُو نَ
'Alam 'A`had 'Ilaykum Yā Banī 'Ā dama 'An Lā Ta`budū A sh -Sh ayţā na 'Inn ahu Lakum `Adū wun Mubī nun Did I not enjoin you, O children of Adam, not to worship Shaitمn, who is your open enemy,[36.60] أَلَمْ أَعْهَد ْ إِلَيْكُمْ يَابَنِي آدَمَ أَن ْ لاَ تَعْبُدُوا ا ل شَّيْطَا نَ إِنَّ هُُلَكُمْ عَدُوٌّ مُبِي نٌ
Wa 'Ani A `budūnī Hādh ā Şirāţun Mustaqī mun and that you should worship Me, which is the Right Way?[36.61] وَأَنِ ا عْبُدُونِي هَذَا صِرَا طٌ مُسْتَقِي مٌ
Wa Laqad 'Ađalla Min kum Jibillāan Kath īrāan 'Afalam Takūnū Ta`qilū na Yet, in spite of this, he (Shaitمn) has led a great number of you astray. Didn't you have common sense?[36.62] وَلَقَد ْ أَضَلَّ مِنْ كُمْ جِبِلّاً كَثِيراً أَفَلَمْ تَكُونُوا تَعْقِلُو نَ
Hadh ihi Jahann amu A llatī Kun tum Tū`adū na This is the hell, of which you were repeatedly warned.[36.63] هَذِهِِ جَهَنَّ مُ ا لَّتِي كُن تُمْ تُوعَدُو نَ
A şlawhā A l-Yawma Bimā Kun tum Takfurū na Now! Enter in it this Day because you persistently rejected the truth.”[36.64] ا صْلَوْهَا ا لْيَوْمَ بِمَا كُن تُمْ تَكْفُرُو نَ
Al-Yawma Nakh timu `Alá 'Afwāhihim Wa Tukallimunā 'Aydīhim Wa Tash /hadu 'Arjuluhum Bimā Kānū Yaksibū na On that Day, We shall seal their mouths while their hands will speak to Us and their feet will bear witness to all their misdeeds.[36.65] ا لْيَوْمَ نَخْتِمُ عَلَى أَفْوَاهِهِمْ وَتُكَلِّمُنَا أَيْدِيهِمْ وَتَشْهَدُ أَرْجُلُهُم ْ بِمَا كَا نُوا يَكْسِبُو نَ
Wa Law Nash ā 'u Laţamasnā `Alá 'A`yunihim Fāstabaqū A ş-Şirā ţa Fa'ann á Yub şirū na Had it been Our Will, We could surely have blotted out their eyes; and let them run about groping for the way, then how could they see?[36.66] وَلَوْ نَشَا ءُ لَطَمَسْنَا عَلَى أَعْيُنِهِمْ فَا سْتَبَقُوا ا ل صِّرَا طَ فَأَنَّ ى يُبْ صِرُو نَ
Wa Law Nash ā 'u Lamasakh nāhum `Alá Makānatihim Famā A staţā`ū Muđīyāan Wa Lā Yarji`ū na And had it been Our Will, We could have nailed them to the ground, then neither could they move forward nor retrace their steps.[36.67] وَلَوْ نَشَا ءُ لَمَسَخْنَاهُمْ عَلَى مَكَانَتِهِمْ فَمَا ا سْتَطَاعُوا مُضِيّاً وَلاَ يَرْجِعُو نَ
Wa Man Nu`amm ir hu Nunakkis/hu Fī A l-Kh alqi 'Afalā Ya`qilū na Those to whom We grant long life, We reverse their nature. Don’t they understand anything from this?[36.68] وَمَن ْ نُعَمِّ رْهُ نُنَكِّسْهُ فِي ا لْخَلْقِ أَفَلاَ يَعْقِلُو نَ
Wa Mā `Allam nā hu A sh -Sh i`ra Wa Mā Yan bagh ī Lahu 'In Huwa 'Illā Dh ikrun Wa Qur'ā nun Mubī nun We have not taught him (Muhammad) poetry, nor does it behoove him. This is nothing but a reminder and a plain Qur’an[36.69] وَمَا عَلَّمْنَا هُ ا ل شِّعْرَ وَمَا يَنْ بَغِي لَهُ~ ُ إِنْ هُوَ إِلاَّ ذِكْرٌ وَقُرْآنٌ مُبِي نٌ
Liyun dh ir a Man Kā na Ĥayyāan Wa Yaĥiqqa A l-Qawlu `Alá A l-Kāfir ī na to warn those who are alive and to establish the charge against the disbelievers.[36.70] لِيُنْ ذِر َ مَن ْ كَا نَ حَيّاً وَيَحِقَّ ا لْقَوْلُ عَلَى ا لْكَافِر ِي نَ
'Awalam Yaraw 'Ann ā Kh alaq nā Lahum Mimm ā `Amilat 'Aydīnā 'An`āmāan Fahum Lahā Mālikū na Do they not see that among the other things which Our hands have fashioned, We have created cattle which are under their domination?[36.71] أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا أَنَّ ا خَلَقْ نَا لَهُم ْ مِمَّ ا عَمِلَتْ أَيْدِينَا أَنْعَاماً فَهُمْ لَهَا مَالِ كُو نَ
Wa Dh allalnāhā Lahum Faminhā Rakūbuhum Wa Minhā Ya'kulū na We have subjected these animals to them, that they may ride on some and eat the flesh of others,[36.72] وَذَلَّلْنَاهَا لَهُمْ فَمِنْهَا رَكُوبُهُمْ وَمِنْهَا يَأْكُلُو نَ
Wa Lahum Fīhā Manāfi`u Wa Mash ār ibu 'Afalā Yash kurū na in them there are other advantages and drinks (milk) for them. Should they not then be grateful?[36.73] وَلَهُمْ فِيهَا مَنَافِعُ وَمَشَار ِبُ أَفَلاَ يَشْكُرُو نَ
Wa A ttakh adh ū Min Dū ni A l-Lahi 'Ā lihatan La`allahum Yun şarū na Yet they have taken other gods besides Allah hoping to get their help.[36.74] وَا تَّخَذُوا مِن ْ دُو نِ ا ل لَّهِ آلِهَة ً لَعَلَّهُمْ يُن صَرُو نَ
Lā Yastaţī`ū na Naşrahum Wa Hum Lahum Jun dun Muĥđarū na But they do not have the ability to help them yet their worshippers stand like warriors ready to defend them.[36.75] لاَ يَسْتَطِيعُو نَ نَصْرَهُمْ وَهُمْ لَهُمْ جُن دٌ مُحْضَرُو نَ
Falā Yaĥzun ka Qawluhum 'Inn ā Na`lamu Mā Yusir rū na Wa Mā Yu`linū na Let not their words grieve you (O Muhammad). Surely We have knowledge of all that they conceal and all that they reveal.[36.76] فَلاَ يَحْزُنْ كَ قَوْلُهُمْ إِنَّ ا نَعْلَمُ مَا يُسِرُّو نَ وَمَا يُعْلِنُو نَ
'Awalam Yara A l-'In sā nu 'Ann ā Kh alaq nā hu Min Nuţ fatin Fa'idh ā Huwa Kh aşī mun Mubī nun Does not man see that We have created him from a sperm? Yet he stands up as an open adversary.[36.77] أَوَلَمْ يَرَ ا لإِن سَا نُ أَنَّ ا خَلَقْ نَا هُُمِن ْ نُطْ فَةٍ فَإِذَا هُوَ خَصِي مٌ مُبِي نٌ
Wa Đaraba Lanā Math alāan Wa Nasiya Kh alqahu Qā la Man Yuĥyī A l-`Ižā ma Wa Hiya Ramī mun He starts making comparisons for Us and forgets his own creation. He says: “Who will give life to bones that have been decomposed?”[36.78] وَضَرَبَ لَنَا مَثَلاً وَنَسِيَ خَلْقَهُُقَا لَ مَن ْ يُحْيِي ا لْعِظَا مَ وَهِيَ رَمِي مٌ
Qul Yuĥyīhā A l-Ladh ī 'An sh a'ahā 'Awwala Marratin Wa Huwa Bikulli Kh alqin `Alī mun Tell them: “He Who has created them for the first time, will give them life again, He is well-versed in every kind of creation.[36.79] قُلْ يُحْيِيهَا ا لَّذِي أَن شَأَهَا أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ وَهُوَ بِكُلِّ خَلْقٍ عَلِي مٌ
Al-Ladh ī Ja`ala Lakum Mina A sh -Sh ajar i A l-'Akh đar i Nārāan Fa'idh ā 'An tum Minhu Tūqidū na It is He Who produces for you the spark from the green tree to kindle therewith your own fires.[36.80] ا لَّذِي جَعَلَ لَكُم ْ مِنَ ا ل شَّجَر ِ ا لأَخْضَر ِ نَاراً فَإِذَا أَنْ تُم ْ مِنْهُ تُوقِدُو نَ
'Awalaysa A l-Ladh ī Kh alaqa A s-Samāwā ti Wa A l-'Arđa Biqādir in `Alá 'An Yakh luqa Mith lahum Balá Wa Huwa A l-Kh allā qu A l-`Alī mu Does He Who has created the heavens and the earth have no power to create the like thereof?” Of course He does! He is the skilful Creator.[36.81] أَوَلَيْسَ ا لَّذِي خَلَقَ ا ل سَّمَاوَا تِ وَالأَرْضَ بِقَادِرٍ عَلَى أَن ْ يَخْلُقَ مِثْلَهُم ْ بَلَى وَهُوَ ا لْخَلاَّقُ ا لْعَلِي مُ
'Inn amā 'Am ruhu 'Idh ā 'Arā da Sh ay'ā an 'An Yaqū la Lahu Kun Fayakū nu Whenever He intends a thing, He needs only to say: “Be,” and it is.[36.82] إِنَّ مَا أَمْرُهُ~ ُ إِذَا أَرَا دَ شَيْئاً أَن ْ يَقُو لَ لَهُُكُن ْ فَيَكُو نُ
Fasub ĥā na A l-Ladh ī Biyadihi Malakū tu Kulli Sh ay'in Wa 'Ilayhi Turja`ū na Glory be to Him in Whose hands is the Kingdom of all things; and to Whom you shall all be brought back.[36.83] فَسُبْ حَا نَ ا لَّذِي بِيَدِهِِ مَلَكُو تُ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُو نَ
