'Idhā Waqa`ati Al-Wāqi`atu When the Event (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) befalls. (Al-Waqi'ah 56:1) إِ‌ذَ‌ا‌ ‌وَ‍قَ‍‍عَتِ ‌الْوَ‌اقِ‍‍عَةُ
Laysa Liwaq`atihā Kādhibatun And there can be no denying of its befalling. (Al-Waqi'ah 56:2) لَ‍‍يْ‍‍سَ لِوَ‍قْ‍‍عَتِهَا‌ كَا‌ذِبَ‍‍ةٌ
Khāfiđatun fi`atun It will bring low (some); (and others) it will exalt; (Al-Waqi'ah 56:3) خَ‍‍افِ‍‍ضَ‍‍ة ٌ‌ ‌‍رَ‌افِعَةٌ
'Idhā Rujjati Al-'Arđu Rajjāan When the earth will be shaken with a terrible shake. (Al-Waqi'ah 56:4) إِ‌ذَ‌ا‌ ‌رُجَّتِ ‌الأَ‌رْ‍ضُ ‌‍رَجّ‍‍اً
Wa Bussati Al-Jibālu Bassāan And the mountains will be powdered to dust. (Al-Waqi'ah 56:5) وَبُسَّتِ ‌الْجِب‍‍َ‍الُ بَسّاً
Fakānat Habā'an Munbaththāan So that they will become floating dust particles. (Al-Waqi'ah 56:6) فَكَانَتْ هَب‍‍َ‍ا‌ء‌ ً‌ مُ‍‌‍نْ‍‍بَثّاً
Wa Kuntum 'Azwājāan Thalāthatan And you (all) will be in three kinds (i.e. separate groups). (Al-Waqi'ah 56:7) وَكُ‍‌‍ن‍‍تُمْ ‌أَ‌زْ‌وَ‌اجا‌‌ ً‌ ثَلاَثَةً
Fa'aşĥābu Al-Maymanati Mā 'Aşĥābu Al-Maymanati So those on the Right Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Records in their right hands), Who will be those on the Right Hand? (As a respect for them, because they will enter Paradise). (Al-Waqi'ah 56:8) فَأَ‍صْ‍‍ح‍‍َ‍ابُ ‌الْمَيْمَنَةِ مَ‍‍ا‌ ‌أَ‍صْ‍‍ح‍‍َ‍ابُ ‌الْمَيْمَنَةِ
Wa 'Aşĥābu Al-Mash'amati Mā 'Aşĥābu Al-Mash'amati And those on the Left Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Record in their left hands), Who will be those on the Left Hand? (As a disgrace for them, because they will enter Hell). (Al-Waqi'ah 56:9) وَ‌أَ‍صْ‍‍ح‍‍َ‍ابُ ‌الْمَشْأَمَةِ مَ‍‍ا‌ ‌أَ‍صْ‍‍ح‍‍َ‍ابُ ‌الْمَشْأَمَةِ
Wa As-Sābiqūna As-Sābiqūna And those foremost [(in Islāmic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islām,] will be foremost (in Paradise). (Al-Waqi'ah 56:10) وَ‌السَّابِ‍‍قُ‍‍ونَ ‌ال‍‍سَّابِ‍‍قُ‍‍ونَ
'Ūlā'ika Al-Muqarrabūna These will be those nearest to Allāh. (Al-Waqi'ah 56:11) أ‍ُ‍‌وْل‍‍َ‍ائِكَ ‌الْمُ‍‍قَ‍رَّبُونَ
Fī Jannāti An-Na`īmi In the Gardens of delight (Paradise). (Al-Waqi'ah 56:12) فِي جَ‍‍نّ‍‍َ‍اتِ ‌ال‍‍نَّ‍‍عِيمِ
Thullatun Mina Al-'Awwalīna A multitude of those (foremost) will be from the first generations (who embraced Islām). (Al-Waqi'ah 56:13) ثُلَّةٌ‌ مِنَ ‌الأَ‌وَّلِينَ
Wa Qalīlun Mina Al-'Ākhirīna And a few of those (foremost) will be from the later time (generations). (Al-Waqi'ah 56:14) وَ‍قَ‍‍ل‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍لٌ‌ مِنَ ‌الآ‍‍خِ‍‍رِينَ
`Alá Sururin Mawđūnatin (They will be) on thrones woven with gold and precious stones, (Al-Waqi'ah 56:15) عَلَى‌ سُرُ‌ر‌ٍ‌ مَوْ‍ضُ‍‍ونَةٍ
Muttaki'īna `Alayhā Mutaqābilīna Reclining thereon, face to face. (Al-Waqi'ah 56:16) مُتَّكِئ‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ عَلَيْهَا‌ مُتَ‍‍قَ‍‍ابِلِينَ
Yaţūfu `Alayhim Wildānun Mukhalladūna They will be served by immortal boys, (Al-Waqi'ah 56:17) يَ‍طُ‍‍وفُ عَلَيْهِمْ ‌وِلْد‍َ‍‌انٌ‌ مُ‍‍خَ‍‍لَّدُ‌ونَ
Bi'akwābin Wa 'Abārīqa Wa Ka'sin Min Ma`īnin With cups, and jugs, and a glass from the flowing wine, (Al-Waqi'ah 56:18) بِأَكْو‍َ‍‌ابٍ‌ ‌وَ‌أَبَا‌ر‍ِ‍ي‍‍قَ ‌وَكَأْسٍ‌ مِ‍‌‍نْ مَعِينٍ
Lā Yuşadda`ūna `Anhā Wa Lā Yunzifūna Wherefrom they will get neither any aching of the head, nor any intoxication. (Al-Waqi'ah 56:19) لاَ‌ يُ‍‍صَ‍‍دَّع‍‍ُ‍ونَ عَ‍‌‍نْ‍‍هَا‌ ‌وَلاَ‌ يُ‍‌‍ن‍‍زِفُونَ
Wa Fākihatin Mimmā Yatakhayyarūna And fruit; that they may choose. (Al-Waqi'ah 56:20) وَفَاكِهَةٍ‌ مِ‍‍مَّ‍‍ا‌ يَتَ‍‍خَ‍‍يَّرُ‌ونَ
Wa Laĥmi Ţayrin Mimmā Yashtahūna And the flesh of fowls that they desire. (Al-Waqi'ah 56:21) وَلَحْمِ طَ‍‍يْ‍‍ر‌ٍ‌ مِ‍‍مَّ‍‍ا‌ يَشْتَهُونَ
Wa Ĥūrun `Īnun And (there will be) Houris (fair females) with wide, lovely eyes (as wives for the pious), (Al-Waqi'ah 56:22) وَح‍‍ُ‍و‌رٌ‌ عِينٌ
Ka'amthāli Al-Lu'ulu'ui Al-Maknūni Like unto preserved pearls. (Al-Waqi'ah 56:23) كَأَمْث‍‍َ‍الِ ‌ال‍‍لُّؤْلُؤِ‌ ‌الْمَكْنُونِ
Jazā'an Bimā Kānū Ya`malūna A reward for what they used to do. (Al-Waqi'ah 56:24) جَز‍َ‍‌ا‌ء‌ ً‌ بِمَا‌ كَانُو‌ا‌ يَعْمَلُونَ
Lā Yasma`ūna Fīhā Laghwan Wa Lā Ta'thīmāan No Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk) will they hear therein, nor any sinful speech (like backbiting, etc.). (Al-Waqi'ah 56:25) لاَ‌ يَسْمَع‍‍ُ‍ونَ فِيهَا‌ لَ‍‍غْ‍‍و‌ا‌ ً‌ ‌وَلاَ‌ تَأْثِيماً
'Illā Qīlāan Salāmāan Salāmāan But only the saying of: Salām!, Salām! (greetings with peace) ! (Al-Waqi'ah 56:26) إِلاَّ‌ قِ‍‍يلا‌‌ ً‌ سَلاَما‌‌ ً‌ سَلاَماً
Wa 'Aşĥābu Al-Yamīni Mā 'Aşĥābu Al-Yamīni And those on the Right Hand, ­ Who will be those on the Right Hand? (Al-Waqi'ah 56:27) وَ‌أَ‍صْ‍‍ح‍‍َ‍ابُ ‌الْيَم‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍نِ مَ‍‍ا‌ ‌أَ‍صْ‍‍ح‍‍َ‍ابُ ‌الْيَمِينِ
Fī Sidrin Makhđūdin (They will be) among thornless lote-trees, (Al-Waqi'ah 56:28) فِي سِ‍‍دْ‌ر‌ٍ‌ مَ‍‍خْ‍‍ضُ‍‍و‌دٍ
Wa Ţalĥin Manđūdin Among Talh (banana-trees) with fruits piled one above another, (Al-Waqi'ah 56:29) وَ‍طَ‍‍لْحٍ‌ مَ‍‌‍نْ‍‍‍‍ضُ‍‍و‌دٍ
Wa Žillin Mamdūdin In shade long-extended, (Al-Waqi'ah 56:30) وَ‍ظِ‍‍لٍّ‌ مَمْدُ‌و‌دٍ
Wa Mā'in Maskūbin By water flowing constantly, (Al-Waqi'ah 56:31) وَم‍‍َ‍ا‌ء‌ٍ‌ مَسْكُوبٍ
Wa Fākihatin Kathīratin And fruit in plenty, (Al-Waqi'ah 56:32) وَفَاكِهَة‌‍ٍ‌ كَثِي‍رَةٍ
Lā Maqţū`atin Wa Lā Mamnū`atin Whose season is not limited, and their supply will not be cut off, (Al-Waqi'ah 56:33) لاَ‌ مَ‍‍قْ‍‍‍‍طُ‍‍وعَةٍ‌ ‌وَلاَ‌ مَمْنُوعَةٍ
Wa Furushin Marfū`atin And on couches or thrones, raised high. (Al-Waqi'ah 56:34) وَفُرُشٍ‌ مَرْفُوعَةٍ
'Innā 'Ansha'nāhunna 'Inshā'an Verily, We have created them (maidens) of special creation. (Al-Waqi'ah 56:35) إِنَّ‍‍ا‌ ‌أَ‌ن‍‍شَأْنَاهُ‍‍نَّ ‌إِ‌ن‍‍ش‍‍َ‍ا‌ءً
Faja`alnāhunna 'Aban And made them virgins. (Al-Waqi'ah 56:36) فَجَعَلْنَاهُ‍‍نَّ ‌أَبْ‍‍كَا‌ر‌اً
`Urubāan 'Atbāan Loving (their husbands only), equal in age. (Al-Waqi'ah 56:37) عُرُباً‌ ‌أَتْ‍رَ‌اباً
Li'aşĥābi Al-Yamīni For those on the Right Hand. (Al-Waqi'ah 56:38) لِأَ‍صْ‍‍ح‍‍َ‍ابِ ‌الْيَمِينِ
Thullatun Mina Al-'Awwalīna A multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the first generation (who embraced Islām). (Al-Waqi'ah 56:39) ثُلَّةٌ‌ مِنَ ‌الأَ‌وَّلِينَ
Wa Thullatun Mina Al-'Ākhirīna A multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the later generations. (Al-Waqi'ah 56:40) وَثُلَّةٌ‌ مِنَ ‌الآ‍‍خِ‍‍رِينَ
Wa 'Aşĥābu Ash-Shimāli Mā 'Aşĥābu Ash-Shimāli And those on the Left Hand Who will be those on the Left Hand? (Al-Waqi'ah 56:41) وَ‌أَ‍صْ‍‍ح‍‍َ‍ابُ ‌ال‍‍شِّم‍‍َ‍الِ مَ‍‍ا‌ ‌أَ‍صْ‍‍ح‍‍َ‍ابُ ‌ال‍‍شِّمَالِ
Fī Samūmin Wa Ĥamīmin In fierce hot wind and boiling water, (Al-Waqi'ah 56:42) فِي سَم‍‍ُ‍ومٍ‌ ‌وَحَمِيمٍ
Wa Žillin Min Yaĥmūmin And shadow of black smoke, (Al-Waqi'ah 56:43) وَ‍ظِ‍‍لٍّ‌ مِ‍‌‍نْ يَحْمُومٍ
Lā Bāridin Wa Lā Karīmin (That shadow) neither cool, nor (even) good, (Al-Waqi'ah 56:44) لاَ‌ بَا‌رِ‌د‌ٍ‌ ‌وَلاَ‌ كَ‍‍رِيمٍ
'Innahum Kānū Qabla Dhālika Mutrafīna Verily, before that, they indulged in luxury, (Al-Waqi'ah 56:45) إِنَّ‍‍هُمْ كَانُو‌اقَ‍‍بْ‍‍لَ ‌ذَلِكَ مُتْ‍رَفِينَ
Wa Kānū Yuşirrūna `Alá Al-Ĥinthi Al-`Ažīmi And were persisting in great sin (joining partners in worship along with Allāh, committing murders and other crimes, etc.)[] (Al-Waqi'ah 56:46) وَكَانُو‌ا‌ يُ‍‍صِ‍‍ر‍ّ‍‍ُ‍‌ونَ عَلَى‌ ‌الْحِ‍‌‍ن‍‍ثِ ‌الْعَ‍‍ظِ‍‍يمِ
Wa Kānū Yaqūlūna 'A'idhā Mitnā Wa Kunnā Tubāan Wa `Ižāmāan 'A'innā Lamabthūna And they used to say: "When we die and become dust and bones, shall we then indeed be resurrected? (Al-Waqi'ah 56:47) وَكَانُو‌ا‌ يَ‍‍قُ‍‍ول‍‍ُ‍ونَ ‌أَئِذَ‌ا‌ مِتْنَا‌ ‌وَكُ‍‍نَّ‍‍ا‌ تُ‍رَ‌ابا‌ ً‌ ‌وَعِ‍‍ظَ‍‍اماً‌ ‌أَئِ‍‍نَّ‍‍ا‌ لَمَ‍‍بْ‍‍عُوثُونَ
'Awa 'Ābā'uunā Al-'Awwalūna "And also our forefathers?" (Al-Waqi'ah 56:48) أَ‌وَ‌ ‌آب‍‍َ‍ا‌ؤُنَا‌ ‌الأَ‌وَّلُونَ
Qul 'Inna Al-'Awwalīna Wa Al-'Ākhirīna Say (O Muhammad SAW): "(Yes) verily, those of old, and those of later times. (Al-Waqi'ah 56:49) قُ‍‍لْ ‌إِنَّ ‌الأَ‌وَّل‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ ‌وَ‌الآ‍‍خِ‍‍رِينَ
Lamajmū`ūna 'Ilá Mīqāti Yawmin Ma`lūmin "All will surely be gathered together for appointed Meeting of a known Day. (Al-Waqi'ah 56:50) لَمَ‍‍جْ‍‍مُوع‍‍ُ‍ونَ ‌إِلَى‌ مِي‍‍قَ‍‍اتِ يَ‍‍وْمٍ‌ مَعْلُومٍ
Thumma 'Innakum 'Ayyuhā Ađ-Đāllūna Al-Mukadhdhibūna "Then moreover, verily, you the erring-ones, the deniers (of Resurrection)! (Al-Waqi'ah 56:51) ثُ‍‍مَّ ‌إِنَّ‍‍كُمْ ‌أَيُّهَا‌ ‌ال‍‍ضَّ‍‍الّ‍‍ُ‍ونَ ‌الْمُكَذِّبُونَ
La'ākilūna Min Shajarin Min Zaqqūmin "You verily will eat of the trees of Zaqqûm. (Al-Waqi'ah 56:52) لَآكِل‍‍ُ‍ونَ مِ‍‌‍نْ شَجَر‌ٍ‌ مِ‍‌‍نْ ‌زَ‍قُّ‍‍ومٍ
Famāli'ūna Minhā Al-Buţūna "Then you will fill your bellies therewith, (Al-Waqi'ah 56:53) فَمَالِئ‍‍ُ‍ونَ مِ‍‌‍نْ‍‍هَا‌ ‌الْبُ‍‍طُ‍‍ونَ
Fashāribūna `Alayhi Mina Al-Ĥamīmi "And drink boiling water on top of it, (Al-Waqi'ah 56:54) فَشَا‌رِب‍‍ُ‍ونَ عَلَ‍‍يْ‍‍هِ مِنَ ‌الْحَمِيمِ
Fashāribūna Shurba Al-Hīmi "So you will drink (that) like thirsty camels!" (Al-Waqi'ah 56:55) فَشَا‌رِب‍‍ُ‍ونَ شُرْبَ ‌الْهِيمِ
dhā Nuzuluhum Yawma Ad-Dīni That will be their entertainment on the Day of Recompense! (Al-Waqi'ah 56:56) هَذَ‌ا‌ نُزُلُهُمْ يَ‍‍وْمَ ‌ال‍‍دِّينِ
Naĥnu Khalaqnākum Falawlā Tuşaddiqūna We created you, then why do you believe not? (Al-Waqi'ah 56:57) نَحْنُ خَ‍‍لَ‍‍قْ‍‍نَاكُمْ فَلَوْلاَ‌ تُ‍‍صَ‍‍دِّ‍‍قُ‍‍ونَ
'Afara'aytum Mā Tumnūna Then tell Me (about) the human semen that you emit. (Al-Waqi'ah 56:58) أَفَ‍رَ‌أَيْتُمْ مَا‌ تُمْنُونَ
'A'antum Takhluqūnahu~ 'Am Naĥnu Al-Khāliqūna Is it you who create it (i.e. make this semen into a perfect human being), or are We the Creator? (Al-Waqi'ah 56:59) أَ‌أَ‌نْ‍‍تُمْ تَ‍‍خْ‍‍لُ‍‍قُ‍‍ونَهُ~ُ ‌أَمْ نَحْنُ ‌الْ‍‍خَ‍‍الِ‍‍قُ‍‍ونَ
Naĥnu Qaddarnā Baynakumu Al-Mawta Wa Mā Naĥnu Bimasbūqīna We have decreed death to you all, and We are not unable, (Al-Waqi'ah 56:60) نَحْنُ قَ‍‍دَّ‌رْنَا‌ بَيْنَكُمُ ‌الْمَ‍‍وْتَ ‌وَمَا‌ نَحْنُ بِمَسْبُوقِ‍‍ينَ
`Alá 'An Nubaddila 'Amthālakum Wa Nunshi'akum Fī Mā Lā Ta`lamūna To transfigure you and create you in (forms) that you know not. (Al-Waqi'ah 56:61) عَلَ‍‍ى‌ ‌أَ‌نْ نُبَدِّلَ ‌أَمْثَالَكُمْ ‌وَنُ‍‌‍نْ‍‍شِئَكُمْ فِي مَا‌ لاَ‌ تَعْلَمُونَ
Wa Laqad `Alimtumu An-Nash'ata Al-'Ūlá Falawlā Tadhkkarūna And indeed, you have already known the first form of creation (i.e. the creation of Adam), why then do you not remember or take heed? (Al-Waqi'ah 56:62) وَلَ‍قَ‍‍دْ‌ عَلِمْتُمُ ‌ال‍‍نَّ‍‍شْأَةَ ‌الأ‍ُ‍‌ولَى‌ فَلَوْلاَ‌ تَذكَّرُ‌ونَ
'Afara'aytum Mā Taĥruthūna Tell Me! The seed that you sow in the ground. (Al-Waqi'ah 56:63) أَفَ‍رَ‌أَيْتُمْ مَا‌ تَحْرُثُونَ
'A'antum Tazra`ūnahu~ 'Am Naĥnu Az-Zāri`ūna Is it you that make it grow, or are We the Grower? (Al-Waqi'ah 56:64) أَ‌أَ‌نْ‍‍تُمْ تَزْ‌‍رَعُونَهُ~ُ ‌أَمْ نَحْنُ ‌ال‍‍زَّ‌ا‌رِعُونَ
Law Nashā'u Laja`alnāhu Ĥuţāmāan Fažalaltum Tafakkahūna Were it Our Will, We could crumble it to dry pieces, and you would be regretful (or left in wonderment). (Al-Waqi'ah 56:65) لَوْ‌ نَش‍‍َ‍ا‌ءُ‌ لَجَعَلْن‍‍َ‍اهُ حُ‍‍طَ‍‍اما‌‌ ً‌ فَ‍‍ظَ‍‍لَلْتُمْ تَفَكَّهُونَ
'Innā Lamughramūna (Saying): "We are indeed Mughramûn (i.e. ruined or lost the money without any profit, or punished by the loss of all that we spend for cultivation, etc.)! [See Tafsir Al-Qurtubī, Vol. 17, Page 219] (Al-Waqi'ah 56:66) إِنَّ‍‍ا‌ لَمُ‍‍غْ‍رَمُونَ
Bal Naĥnu Maĥrūmūna "Nay, but we are deprived!" (Al-Waqi'ah 56:67) بَلْ نَحْنُ مَحْرُ‌ومُونَ
'Afara'aytumu Al-Mā'a Al-Ladhī Tashrabūna Tell Me! The water that you drink. (Al-Waqi'ah 56:68) أَفَ‍رَ‌أَيْتُمُ ‌الْم‍‍َ‍ا‌ءَ‌ ‌الَّذِي تَشْ‍رَبُونَ
'A'antum 'Anzaltumūhu Mina Al-Muzni 'Am Naĥnu Al-Munzilūna Is it you who cause it from the rainclouds to come down, or are We the Causer of it to come down? (Al-Waqi'ah 56:69) أَ‌أَ‌نْ‍‍تُمْ ‌أَ‌ن‍‍زَلْتُم‍‍ُ‍وهُ مِنَ ‌الْمُزْنِ ‌أَمْ نَحْنُ ‌الْمُ‍‌‍ن‍‍زِلُونَ
Law Nashā'u Ja`alnāhu 'Ujājāan Falawlā Tashkurūna If We willed, We verily could make it salt (and undrinkable), why then do you not give thanks (to Allāh)? (Al-Waqi'ah 56:70) لَوْ‌ نَش‍‍َ‍ا‌ءُ‌ جَعَلْن‍‍َ‍اهُ ‌أُجَاجا‌‌ ً‌ فَلَوْلاَ‌ تَشْكُرُ‌ونَ
'Afara'aytumu An-Nāra Allatī Tūrūna Tell Me! The fire which you kindle, (Al-Waqi'ah 56:71) أَفَ‍رَ‌أَيْتُمُ ‌ال‍‍نّ‍‍َ‍ا‌‍رَ‌الَّتِي تُو‌رُ‌ونَ
'A'antum 'Ansha'tum Shajaratahā 'Am Naĥnu Al-Munshi'ūna Is it you who made the tree thereof to grow, or are We the Grower? (Al-Waqi'ah 56:72) أَ‌أَ‌نْ‍‍تُمْ ‌أَ‌ن‍‍شَأْتُمْ شَجَ‍رَتَهَ‍‍ا‌ ‌أَمْ نَحْنُ ‌الْمُ‍‌‍ن‍‍شِئ‍‍ُ‍‍ونَ
Naĥnu Ja`alnāhā Tadhkiratan Wa Matā`āan Lilmuqwīna We have made it a Reminder (for the Hell-fire, in the Hereafter); and an article of use for the travellers (and all the others, in this world). (Al-Waqi'ah 56:73) نَحْنُ جَعَلْنَاهَا‌ تَذْكِ‍رَة ً‌ ‌وَمَتَاعا‌ ً‌ لِلْمُ‍‍قْ‍‍وِينَ
Fasabbiĥ Biāsmi Rabbika Al-`Ažīmi Then glorify with praises the Name of your Lord, the Most Great. (Al-Waqi'ah 56:74) فَسَبِّحْ بِ‍‍اسْمِ ‌‍رَبِّكَ ‌الْعَ‍‍ظِ‍‍يمِ
Falā 'Uqsimu Bimawāqi`i An-Nujūmi So I swear by Mawāqi (setting or the mansions, etc.) of the stars (they traverse). (Al-Waqi'ah 56:75) فَلاَ‌ ‌أُ‍قْ‍‍سِمُ بِمَوَ‌اقِ‍‍عِ ‌ال‍‍نُّ‍‍جُومِ
Wa 'Innahu Laqasamun Law Ta`lamūna `Ažīmun And verily, that is indeed a great oath, if you but know. (Al-Waqi'ah 56:76) وَ‌إِنَّ‍‍هُ لَ‍‍قَ‍‍سَم ٌ‌ لَوْ‌ تَعْلَم‍‍ُ‍ونَ عَ‍‍ظِ‍‍يمٌ
'Innahu Laqur'ānun Karīmun That (this) is indeed an honourable recital (the Noble Qur'ān). (Al-Waqi'ah 56:77) إِنَّ‍‍هُ لَ‍‍قُ‍‍رْ‌آن‌‍ٌ‌ كَ‍‍رِيمٌ
Fī Kitābin Maknūnin In a Book well-guarded (with Allāh in the heaven i.e. Al-Lauh Al-Mahfûz). (Al-Waqi'ah 56:78) فِي كِت‍‍َ‍ابٍ‌ مَكْنُونٍ
Lā Yamassuhu~ 'Illā Al-Muţahharūna Which (that Book with Allāh) none can touch but the purified (i.e. the angels). (Al-Waqi'ah 56:79) لاَ‌ يَمَسُّهُ~ُ ‌إِلاَّ‌ ‌الْمُ‍‍طَ‍‍هَّرُ‌ونَ
Tanzīlun Min Rabbi Al-`Ālamīna A Revelation (this Qur'ān) from the Lord of the 'Alamīn (mankind, jinns and all that exists). (Al-Waqi'ah 56:80) تَ‍‌‍ن‍‍ز‍ِ‍ي‍‍لٌ‌ مِ‍‌‍نْ ‌‍رَبِّ ‌الْعَالَمِينَ
'Afabihadhā Al-Ĥadīthi 'Antum Mud/hinūna Is it such a talk (this Qur'an) that you (disbelievers) deny? (Al-Waqi'ah 56:81) أَفَبِهَذَ‌ا‌ ‌الْحَد‍ِ‍ي‍‍ثِ ‌أَ‌نْ‍‍تُمْ مُ‍‍دْهِنُونَ
Wa Taj`alūna Rizqakum 'Annakum Tukadhdhibūna And instead (of thanking Allāh) for the provision He gives you, on the contrary, you deny Him (by disbelief)! (Al-Waqi'ah 56:82) وَتَ‍‍جْ‍‍عَل‍‍ُ‍ونَ ‌رِ‌زْ‍قَ‍‍كُمْ ‌أَنَّ‍‍كُمْ تُكَذِّبُونَ
Falawlā 'Idhā Balaghati Al-Ĥulqūma Then why do you not (intervene) when (the soul of a dying person) reaches the throat? (Al-Waqi'ah 56:83) فَلَوْلاَ‌ ‌إِ‌ذَ‌ا‌ بَلَ‍‍غَ‍‍تِ ‌الْحُلْ‍‍قُ‍‍ومَ
Wa 'Antum Ĥīna'idhin Tanžurūna And you at the moment are looking on, (Al-Waqi'ah 56:84) وَ‌أَ‌نْ‍‍تُمْ حِينَئِذ‌‌ٍ‌ تَ‍‌‍ن‍‍ظُ‍‍رُ‌ونَ
Wa Naĥnu 'Aqrabu 'Ilayhi Minkum Wa Lakin Lā Tubşirūna But We (i.e. Our angels who take the soul) are nearer to him than you, but you see not, [Tafsir At-Tabarī, Vol.27, Page 209] (Al-Waqi'ah 56:85) وَنَحْنُ ‌أَ‍قْ‍‍‍رَبُ ‌إِلَ‍‍يْ‍‍هِ مِ‍‌‍نْ‍‍كُمْ ‌وَلَكِ‍‌‍نْ لاَ‌ تُ‍‍بْ‍‍‍‍صِ‍‍رُ‌ونَ
Falawlā 'In Kuntum Ghayra Madīnīna Then why do you not, if you are exempt from the reckoning and recompense (punishment, etc.) (Al-Waqi'ah 56:86) فَلَوْلاَ‌ ‌إِ‌نْ كُ‍‌‍ن‍‍تُمْ غَ‍‍يْ‍رَ‌ مَدِينِينَ
Tarji`ūnahā 'In Kuntum Şādiqīna Bring back the soul (to its body), if you are truthful? (Al-Waqi'ah 56:87) تَرْجِعُونَهَ‍‍ا‌ ‌إِ‌نْ كُ‍‌‍ن‍‍تُمْ صَ‍‍ا‌دِقِ‍‍ينَ
Fa'ammā 'In Kāna Mina Al-Muqarrabīna Then, if he (the dying person) be of the Muqarrabûn (those brought near to Allāh), (Al-Waqi'ah 56:88) فَأَمَّ‍‍ا‌ ‌إِ‌نْ ك‍‍َ‍انَ مِنَ ‌الْمُ‍‍قَ‍رَّبِينَ
Farawĥun Wa Raānun Wa Jannatu Na`īmin (There is for him) rest and provision, and a Garden of delights (Paradise). (Al-Waqi'ah 56:89) فَ‍رَ‌وْحٌ‌ ‌وَ‌‍رَيْح‍‍َ‍انٌ‌ ‌وَجَ‍‍نَّ‍‍ةُ نَعِيمٍ
Wa 'Ammā 'In Kāna Min 'Aşĥābi Al-Yamīni And if he (the dying person) be of those on the Right Hand, (Al-Waqi'ah 56:90) وَ‌أَمَّ‍‍ا‌ ‌إِ‌نْ ك‍‍َ‍انَ مِ‍‌‍نْ ‌أَ‍صْ‍‍ح‍‍َ‍ابِ ‌الْيَمِينِ
Fasalāmun Laka Min 'Aşĥābi Al-Yamīni Then there is safety and peace (from the Punishment of Allāh) for (you as you are from) those on the Right Hand. (Al-Waqi'ah 56:91) فَسَلاَم ٌ‌ لَكَ مِ‍‌‍نْ ‌أَ‍صْ‍‍ح‍‍َ‍ابِ ‌الْيَمِينِ
Wa 'Ammā 'In Kāna Mina Al-Mukadhdhibīna Ađ-Đāllīna But if he (the dying person) be of the denying (of the Resurrection), the erring (away from the Right Path of Islāmic Monotheism), (Al-Waqi'ah 56:92) وَ‌أَمَّ‍‍ا‌ ‌إِ‌نْ ك‍‍َ‍انَ مِنَ ‌الْمُكَذِّب‍‍ِ‍ي‍‍نَ ‌ال‍‍ضَّ‍‍الِّينَ
Fanuzulun Min Ĥamīmin Then for him is entertainment with boiling water. (Al-Waqi'ah 56:93) فَنُزُلٌ‌ مِ‍‌‍نْ حَمِيمٍ
Wa Taşliyatu Jaĥīmin And burning in Hell-fire. (Al-Waqi'ah 56:94) وَتَ‍صْ‍‍لِيَةُ جَحِيمٍ
'Inna Hādhā Lahuwa Ĥaqqu Al-Yaqīni Verily, this! This is an absolute Truth with certainty. (Al-Waqi'ah 56:95) إِنَّ هَذَ‌ا‌ لَهُوَ‌ حَ‍‍قُّ ‌الْيَ‍‍قِ‍‍ينِ
Fasabbiĥ Biāsmi Rabbika Al-`Ažīmi So glorify with praises the Name of your Lord, the Most Great. (Al-Waqi'ah 56:96) فَسَبِّحْ بِ‍‍اسْمِ ‌‍رَبِّكَ ‌الْعَ‍‍ظِ‍‍يمِ
